Every opportunity that he spoke to local media, he always made a point to say thinks to the listeners, callers & emailers...Mike, you're a class guy that is sorely missed. Thank God for the internet.
I liked Mike a lot in the early years but in the past 5 or so years, his arrogance & condesending attitude toward callers started turning me off BIG TIME. Not sure if that was for real or if the Station planned it but it was a big mistake. He was STILL 100% right on most issues though.
Mike McConnell is off the air for good! I won't miss him! This is the guy that said the government is as much to blame for the BP oil disaster as BP is! I love how these asshole conservative talkies are so at rush to blame the govt yet if George W Bush were in charge I'm sure he would be singing a different tune! Mike is the type of asshole that believes Bush did a wonderful job with Katrina!

Wow, it really felt like a piece of my soul got cut out when I heard the news "Mikey Boy" was leaving -- having been listening to him for close to 20 years. Best of luck to him and no doubt somehow I will be able to pick up his radio show when he begins in Chicago. Small consolation -- We still have Willieeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Gonna miss listening to Mike on 700wlw. Looking forward to hearing his show on wgn-720. Wishing Mike loads of luck on the new endeavor! I am a loyal fan and can't wait to hear his show in August!!!
Mike is a good guy. I enjoyed meeting him in person in the early 90s.
