Knew the song from a different AMV (featuring One Piece, quite appropiate eh?) and compared both videos as well as I compared this to other GL AMV. This fares well up in my top 10 AMV list now.
The pacing is brilliant. The music and video are aligned to perfection. You accended up the whole breadth of the anime very very good, showing everything of importance and reminding viewers of the awesome moments.

This is the greatest Gurren Lagann music video I have seen so far. The music is perfect for this anime and it really captures that fighting spirit. You mentioned you may remake this? Just in HD would be perfect as is.
Absolutely professional. Other than the minor fluctuations in the audio, the video itself was flawless. The video layering effects really allowed for emphasis and power. Each scene complemented the next perfectly and flowed well with the music. One of the greatest AMVs that I have ever seen. If you don't already do this professionally then I suggest that you highly consider it cause you are brilliant at it. Ocourse im also an average joe of no prestige, so take my praise with a grain of salt.

this is single the most satisfying (since code geass) anime to watch..i mean from the growth of a protagonist to an ending.it doesn't leave you hangin' and begging for sequel that is never to come(like many other 'short' anime series out there)..and im of course talking about already completed series.pretty sure im not only one who is thinks along these lines..AWESOME SHOW!

Looking back this anime was pretty sad.. Simons bro died, Kamina. Simons love died, Nia. Near the end many people die. Kittan for an example. And lastly the last thing he does is seperate himself from Gurren Brigade and go back to his life as Simon the Driller. In my opnion the ending was kinda sad. :(
@ComboFtvv while the ending was sad, he seperated himself for a good reason, he really isn't a leader during times of peace. He is a warrior and warriors never make good leaders, they just blaze the trail, or in his case, dig the tunnel, for others to follow.
@ComboFtvv It may have been sad but the show for the most part was all about breaking through expectations and being better than what people thought you could be, proving that no matter what happens you can always keep going, I think what they were mostly trying to do with the series was telling you to never give up because in the end they didn't and things worked out for them. Just my opinion though.

@blaxof I think LordGenome's immortality was something he did to himself, not a side effect of Spiral Power. Cause otherwise Simon wouldn't have aged after the second timeskip. Plus, wouldn't immortality be worse for him?

@Jamielordofgingers it was due to spiral power, having that much spiral power he evolved into what a perfect human would be. Simon probably went through a similar transformation.
@ComboFtvv but they accepted it and moved forward to th better future to live on in happiness for all those that died, so in that aspect, it is a happy ending because they carry the burdon of their dead freinds with happiness ad respect, and havent u forgot, a true man never dies, even when he is killed, everyone that died didnt die in vein, they also ALL died with a smile on their face (go and check, they all did) and they all live on in the hearts, souls and memories of the dai-gurren brigade!
It really speaks volumes about this show that Kamina's death scarred people into not wanting to see any more (it was heartbreaking, like losing a friend and inspiration) and then finding out that he wasn't even the coolest part of the show. Kamina was a regular guy who talked big to give others courage, and Simon was the opposite: a soft spoken, timid guy who BEAT GOD TO DEATH USING NOTHING BUT MANLINESS.
Spoiler alert: Don't read the preceding paragraph, it gives away the end of the show
Simon was just a driller..one of the best actually in his village...shunned by the women..but just kept digging. Until he met Kamina which changed his life forever...soo don't stop watching the series after Kamina's death..coz Nia is there which will alter the story indefinitely...

@ElectrikeDeathStrike episode 17 is where it has the time skip, but yes your missing alot and its gets better. Kamina death plays a role for simon's development.
the anime gets WAY better after Kamina dies. I suggest watching all the episodes after that, or at the very least start watching after the time skip. it get's really awesome.
anyone else notice the jesus allegory. kamina's name: kami means god, according to christianity jesus is the son of god. And peter also known as simon-peter was jesus' first disciple. So it's just one big jesus allegory, and very accurate when you consider the galaxy sized mechs destroying universes.
@TBomb15 The entire theme of TTGL is about surpassing God and Breaking through the Heaven's themselves. Kamina represents God, and Simon is the one who surpasses him.
Another interesting fact. Yoko translates to kiss of death. She was also Simon's age when she kissed Kamina, 14. Kamina himself was only 17.

@blaxof I think LordGenome's immortality was something he did to himself, not a side effect of Spiral Power. Cause otherwise Simon wouldn't have aged after the second timeskip. Plus, wouldn't immortality be worse for him?

It really speaks volumes about this show that Kamina's death scarred people into not wanting to see any more (it was heartbreaking, like losing a friend and inspiration) and then finding out that he wasn't even the coolest part of the show. Kamina was a regular guy who talked big to give others courage, and Simon was the opposite: a soft spoken, timid guy who BEAT GOD TO DEATH USING NOTHING BUT MANLINESS.

Simon was just a driller..one of the best actually in his village...shunned by the women..but just kept digging. Until he met Kamina which changed his life forever...soo don't stop watching the series after Kamina's death..coz Nia is there which will alter the story indefinitely...

anyone else notice the jesus allegory. kamina's name: kami means god, according to christianity jesus is the son of god. And peter also known as simon-peter was jesus' first disciple. So it's just one big jesus allegory, and very accurate when you consider the galaxy sized mechs destroying universes.

@TBomb15 The entire theme of TTGL is about surpassing God and Breaking through the Heaven's themselves. Kamina represents God, and Simon is the one who surpasses him.
Another interesting fact. Yoko translates to kiss of death. She was also Simon's age when she kissed Kamina, 14. Kamina himself was only 17.
