100 pounds per square foot snow load. What is on top and under the panels do not add significantly to the strength. Having a steep roof reduces the vertical component of the load. Mine was near 45 degrees which reduced the vertical loads to about 70% of the 100 psf.

how much snow do you get that it's a concern to put in the I Joists? My roof on 24' x 49' foot home just uses the normal splines for 12 inch panels on the roof, we get much less snow in SE Pa. I do have the interior T+G pine pre-installed on the ceiling which probably adds a little bit of extra strength. Would a cold roof on top of the panels have added sufficient strength for snow loads?

The height abovet the ground, trees surrounding the house and steepness of roof made the installation challenging. One of the workers was a rock climber - he did fine. I coordinated the ground work.

i like seeing the wood on the outside instead of covering it up for structural...
