priests not marrying-I would like to talk about it. Normally its blamed on catholic bishops(St.Ambrose was,I think,first one to start it. But fact is monasticism has its base in New Testament. It derives from Paul's word that "It is better that u remain bachelor like me, if u cant control desire, marry for marriage is better than fornication.
So bishops might have thought that priests should be able to control their desire. This may the main reason behind priest not allowed to marry.
