  • you am singing hurt mein ears

  • danke fer postaj

  • ur screwed when you dont get any nipples. :)

  • idiot guy

  • how much cheaper is it to build your own wheel opposed to buying one?

  • Ok good now how to snowflake it dude

  • Best job ever! Screwing nipples all day

  • He was about to laugh when he said nipples.

  • Does anyone know anything about titanium nipples? I know of a company that makes them called Titan Wheel Technologies.

  • Will this work with a 28 spoke rim?

  • nipples an clits! nipples an clits! ass ass titties titties nipples an clits!

  • ¡Thanks!

  • Little brass nipples.

  • dont he look like mac miller..?

  • I want to spoke my front wheel but it has a disc brake, i removed the disc , but the disc mounting still gets in my way, and i can't get my spokes through some off the holes. Can that mounting be removed too ? If not, what am i supposed to do. I tried to remove it, but it just won't budge !

  • can I use this same method if I'm going to use disc hubs...anything different I need to do?

  • Worked first attemp!. My first wheel ever, watched all three parts, took 3 hours.. Was pretty stoned so guess that's why it took soooo...

Was hard to attach the nipples while giggeling.. Funny man eeej..

    Thanks a buch!.

  • I've already got 2 pink nipples that came with my birthday suit, if i use them does this mean I only have to buy 34 brass nipples?? Or do you have to have all the same colour?

  • I bought all the kit and had a go at truing a wheel a few years ago.

    NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

I can pretty much work on (and fix) any other part of a bike, but wheels are an absolute bugger!!!

Sold all the stuff a couple of weeks after.

Just bung the nice man at the bike shop a tenner, and do something less frustrating, like watching stuff on the internet.

  • @nmdbase not quite.....

just google '700c to inches' and you'll find it's slightly off

  • Thats very responsible wearing safety glasses while playing guitar. A string could break and poke you in the eye. I myself wear a full face guard.

  • it is long winded if you do it first time but if you get it right it can be quite gratifying

  • thanks, i needed this for work,

  • NIPPLES!!!!!!

  • lol "find that length out" why not just say "determine the length"

    New to English?

  • easier too go buy the wheel you need and slip it on

  • he said nipples

  • does it matter if its a rare or front wheel (is the procces the same)? ty

  • @donniedarko88888 Yes, as long as spoke count is the same.

  • @thebiketube should i just have a bikeshop build a pair or should i just do it myself, im very mechanically inclined but i dont want to fubar anything

  • @snowyphil65 You can't really mess anything up by building your own wheel. The first one just might not turn out absolutely perfect, maybe slightly out of true or something, but you can always fix that. If you have the time I would definitely give it a shot!

  • @thebiketube yea i think im gonna try it out, ive got the hubs plannin on getting rhyno lite xl rims but still goin back and forth on the spokes, great vids and exellent job on the wheel, thanks alot

  • @snowyphil65 if its not trued just have the bike shop do it.

  • @KicKFliP503 yea i checked the bike shop prices, no thanks, ive got a truing stand dishing wheel and every other tool you could possibly need at my disposal through my college

  • hey, can i fit basically any hub on any wheel? you see, because I have a 27 inch rim and finding those are getting rather hard now. so, can I buy a hub and build a wheel out of it?

  • @SuperTunaface Yes, as long as the number of holes on the hub match the holes on the rime and you get the right length spokes you are good to go.

  • @thebiketube yup, another question, yeaah, if there's this bike, and it used to use 27 inch wheels, and i don,t want any brakes, can I fit 700c wheels on them?

  • @SuperTunaface Yes, absolutely. 700c is just slightly smaller than 27", they will fit fine, you need to adjust the brake pads a bit, but you're not using any so no problem!

  • lol lot of talk but no build LOOOOL

  • @pieterklaaskrugmann damnit pieter, you have to watch the whole series

  • @unfocusedsf LOL ur right man !

    i will

  • hey, what about the spoke lenght? can you help me? your website doen't work. can you send me a link or sg? thx :)

  • i have a 48 holed rim and i really like it

but i dont want the extra weigt,

is it possible just to use a 36 hub

and only spoke up 36 of the 48 holes?

  • yes , thats possible after you do the 4 spoke on the rim just skip 2 spoke holes on both sides of rim and if you did it right you should have one hole on each side of the hub

  • alright thatnx so much this is gonna help me alot

  • what hubs are those? are you just re-spoking your old Araya onto a Suzue hub?

  • ottimo grazie

  • very nice indeed!

  • What rim is that?

  • Old school Araya 27 1W

  • is that lance on the wall?

  • Fuck yeah

  • Just wanted to comment on how great these three clips where. Excellent instruction with lessons in life thrown in for free. Its amazing how the analogies line up :)

  • what brand spoke wrench is that?

  • Wheelsmith, thanks for watching

  • Nipples!

  • FLANGE!

  • Paul McCartney? Is that you?

  • This is the most informative and detailed series I've seen on wheel building, thanks.

BTW, what are the pros and cons of 32 or 36 spoke wheels

  • the pro is that the 36 spoke wheel has 4 spokes more, so if 4 spokes break you still have the original setting at 32.

  • 32 lighter but weaker 36 heavier but stronger

  • I love how the text for "Nipples" has an ! after it...

  • dude Paul McCartney can work on bikes.

  • when buying hubs sometimes they give axle length options... like... 120mm or 130mm... how do choose the correct axle length?

  • 135mm for your regular mountain bike.

  • Depends what the frame spacing is.

I have three bikes. One with 135 mm spacing and the other bike with 145 mm and 160 mm.

  • measure the distance between the 2 drop-outs on the frame. COmbatwoman71 is right 135mm is standard mtb size

  • I couldn't help but laugh everytime he said nipples... LMFAO

  • hes gotta screw the nipple to make it tight XD

  • hey, i have a question. are thoes 27" or 700c rims?

im restoring a paramount, and i want to re build the wheels with new spokes. possibly new rims

    36 h

  • Those are 27", but there is no difference in the lacing between 27" and 700c, just spoke length may differ.

  • sweet, now for the ofollow up question. where did you find thoes rims at? and what kinad are they?

also, do you know of any good skinny 27" tire? the skinneyest ive seen without the tan sidewalls are 27 x 1 1/8 or 27 x 1 1/4, which are pretty wide. i was looking for a 1" wide tire. but if i do have to settle with a 1 1/8 or 1 1/4, do you have any recomendations? thank you for your reply!!

  • Hey mtb, sorry about the delay, i really like continental gator skins, i think they still make them in 27". Got the rims off ebay, aria v's i think. Its tought to find 27 x 1" for sure. You may just want to go with 700, they would work even if the frame previously had 27" rims.

  • muito bom

  • nipples!!!

  • roflmao

  • awesome set of videos, really detailled and methodical!

  • You're the only bike mech I've seen that doesnt look like a paedophile.

  • What's the chemical in the bottle?,... Spoke Prep?, grease, White Lightning?,... what do you recommend? TNX

  • will this work on a 20inch

  • i always laugh at nipples.. im immature

  • thank you for making this !!!

  • Vary entertaing.Helps any idot build a rim keep making them....

  • "The rim is what links the spokes to the hub"??

    What the hell ^^

  • Maybe what Jim meant to say is, the spokes link the rim to the hub.

  • Yeah sure i just found it pretty funny :p No offense.

  • awesome video informative and entertaining

    make more

  • Thanks Guys! great videos, getting ready to build my first wheels

    love the commentary

  • is it the same with all wheels?

i wanna change my front hub

  • Not all wheels are the same and not all wheels are laced the same. This video teaches the most common threading technique which is "3 cross". When you switch to your new hub you will have to recalculate the spoke length to see if you can use the spokes you have with the new hub, or if you have to get all new ones. From there you can use the video to guide you through rebuilding the wheel. Good Luck

  • Part 2 on how to lace the wheel will be up in the next day or two. Peace!
