my view on cartoon wars. south park family guy and simpsons... honestly sorry simpson fans but simpsons is overrated and over 20 seasons is good but damn its too long to catch up watching and remember every episode and after 10 years i got bored of the show, like somehow it doesnt appeal to me anymore. south park is still funny and family guy is still funny like both of those shows change some of the character.

It's because the Simpsons have kept a steady pace of some political stuff once in a while but mostly family friendly wacky humor which anyone can enjoy but FG and SP are nonstop extreme when it comes to shock value. So every week they try something else to shock you in jokes or theme of an episode whether it's gay rights, U.S foreign policy, sex jokes and so forth.

I love how MacFarlane keeps comparing his work to the Simpsons. Granted, The Simpsons has gone down over the years, but I'm talking to anyone who can remember the year 1989. The Simpsons is genius. Well thought out, intricate enough to preform callbacks with different characters, just pure genius. And Family Guy is exactly what is said in this video: Poop Jokes. Poop jokes and surreal "flashbacks." I guess that's funny if you have an attention span of less than ten seconds.

Don't get me wrong, I respect MacFarlane for the empire he has created. He has created a franchise that will keep supporting his family for the rest of his grandchildren's lives. He is an intelligent man reduced to pining for cheep laughs through jokes about bodily function. What's really funny, is that I thought Nickelodeon had the copyright on poop and fart jokes.

I can't explain American Idol, or any reality tv show or game show, or whatever the hell that brain melter falls under. And I wasn't just talking about this clip, Macfarlane compares his work to The Simpsons all the time. He often talks about how The Simpsons was a huge inspiration for Family guy. And yes, they ARE in the same category, as far as genres go.

I was simply stating that it's funny that MacFarlane concider's his creation to be even relatively close to The Simpsons, when they cater to two completely different demographics. And yes, the two shows can be compared. You are basically saying that you can't compare superman to spiderman because one is marvel and the other is DC.

That's because he always does; he's a functioning alcoholic. Maybe, subconciously, he talks about it in hopes that someone will say something, but anyone he talks to always gets that uncomfortable look in their eyes and either jokes about it or changes the subject. It's such a shame, because Seth's really quite talented and intelligent.
