dont know if you have to wear orange to hunt dove in CA but the orange tends to flare the birds. Dont have to deck out in camo but natural colors help. Good video!

As far as i know pigeon season is not open on the September 1st Dove opener. Not to be a Game Warden or anything but I in fact know that if it was in September and judging by the weather it was. It was unlawful in the state of california to take that bird. But I am glad it did not go to waste. Nice Hunting.
hey Jesse, i read the regulation and for the upland game birds, theres no listing of pigeons or rock doves...can u gimme a site of where you got proof of open season for pigeons.i live in fresno Ca. i was alwase told not to shoot pigeons cuz they werent listed as a upland game bird...

ok...i see its not a violation...but when can you actually shoot pigeons as a bag limit,,,as in an open season...such as dove hunting season...or there isnt one... thanks alot for the replies...i really would like to know cuz whenever i hunt doves i see lots of pigeons too and sometimes do shoot them accidently...

Pidgeons (aka Rock doves) are open year round in CA. Please check you regulation book before you assume someone broke a game law. Thank you.

(a) All of the following resident game birds:
(1) Doves of the genus Streptopelia, including, but not limited to, spotted doves, ringed turtledoves, and Eurasian collared doves.
(2) California quail and varieties thereof.
(3) Gambel's or desert quail.
(4) Mountain quail and varieties thereof.
(5) Sooty or blue grouse.
(6) Ruffed grouse.
(7) Sage hens or sage grouse.
