This song used to disturb me. But when I look at it now, it really fits the atmosphere of the levels it played in. It wonderfully captured the feeling of what it must have been like for Ecco. His world, his oceans, are being taken over by a race of aliens he managed to defeat already. That feeling of dread and loss.
truly gone are the days of great videogames, when games had heart and devs could focus more on gameplay and less on graphics. If I could play just one more game that had that heart, that epicness, before i died i would be happy. shadow of the colossus came closest. LONG LIVE ECCO, and R.I.P Sega. gone are great games such as these. one of the top ten best games i've EVER played, and i was born with an nes, just got a 3ds, and played thousands. Long live the Ecco trilogy. ECCO > all others.

What happened to awesome game concepts such as Ecco? Now it's all fags with guns killing everyone on the screen. I'm sorry, but the album art alone on this box destroys most of today's full games. Look at Ecco's expression. I'm a dolphin, and I'm going to save the world, fuck ya. So awesome.
This was my favourite song! I remember there was a song that sounded like this one (Same chorus), but there was anextra verse... or something like that. I don't know if you guys remeber the song I'm talking about.
@fanieli yeah it was convergence i believe.. when the astrite came back together.. the beginning of the song sounded different then it would go back into this song..
Just to let everyone know, IM THE BIGGEST ECCO THE DOLPHIN FAN WHO EVER LIVED! There is just something about every single Ecco game. The game is creepy and the music is creepy. And the alien queen's are CREEPY!
it is quite mind boggeling, i have to say though the soundtrack to Dune II is about exactly as cool, even the genesis version. and there were some other games who had one or two tracks that where really cool but none so overwhelming as this
I got to play Ecco 2 on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. So many memories. :)

God this game was great.

An impeccable track to an under-appreciated game series. There's a great remix to this uploaded on my page, so check it out, Ecco fans.

I haven't even played the game, but still this music is excellent. Old game music rocks!

@Favk21 Now, that's a justification for the original Medal of Honor's soundtrack, lol.

This is one of the creepiest boss tunes I ever heard from a Genesis. Another fine specimen of YM2612 programming.

I agree. Just to think that the Ecco sound team was able to crank music like this out of the technology of a 16-bit system back then is amazing.
