@Rattlemuse Gibson has gone the way of GMC. They are NOT building products that people want because they think that their brand name and american tradition will be enough to continue to sell overpriced items.

The flying V(Practically dead. Same old boring model for the past 20 yrs. Boring color and no floyd rose either.)

The explorer(On life support too. Same reasons)

The only thing they've invested in is the Les Paul using Slash.

Those custom guitars are waaayy too expensive too. They need to offer two separate lines. Thru body neck construction(expensive) and bolt on neck construction(reasonable).

Put out a web app that lets customers "build" their own guitars. Boltons will reduce the price of construction and offer more customization options(i.e. Original floyd rose options!). Improve quality high but lower price.

They need to Learn from Toyota('80s and '90s toyota!)

I don't think leslie or michael have enough fan appeal to sell guitars but they can always sign Aldrich. Fender guitars have always been cheaper and just as good as gibsons. I have a tele deluxe and an SRV strat(both RAWK). I also have a '76 LP standard , 2005 explorer and an Ibanez rg1547w/Evos added(Also RAWKs). I just lost my bid on an Gibson flying V90 that was so sweet. That v90 is my ultimate guitar but it looks like I'll have to build my own and stick a gibson truss rod cover on it.

i think its just the way it was uploaded and crappy speakers. I"ve run this song through a P.A. and it sounded just fine. It's a little snare heavy, but this upload does sound weird.

But the song on the album sounds right.

I think that this is a fantastic version of this song.Both of these artist are legends, and have nothing to prove.They have paid their dues.I've been around a lot of young players who believe that just because they can play an artist song it makes them a cut above everyone else. But the question remains...Can you write anything that deserves the fame that these artist earned? Musicians are a family that support each other. Their talent got them where they are, don't tear em down please....

Love the songs. Great licks!!! Always listen to Leslie before we gig. Gets my mind right. To easy to just buzz saw and forget its got to have passion. It is not about playing lots of notes but that one perfect note and the spaces in between.

oh I'm sorry...Mr.Shenker sounds wonderful on this song...it was Phat Leslie that sounds ancient. More proof that Mountain should have added another guitarist and a lead singer. I understand Felix attempted to get most of the revenue by recording Mountain albums on his label. Leslie realized what was going on and went out on his own. Mick Jagur and Pete Townsand stroked Leslie in London..but they used him. Public got tired of his sound and W,B,L WAS A sloppy combo. My view depper.

Leslie West has paid his dues, and his influences are spread all over the industry. Leslie is one of the most emulated guitarists for good reason. His music has been completely ageless. Its clean hard rock. The very best guitar tone & vibrato. Schencker sounds great. Mr West, pure thunder.

Ohh, and chillichomper, ban Velmouse. He searches for ever Leslie West post and flames it. He adds nothing, delete and ban him!

Sounds pretty awful. Two guitarists do not gell well together...Shenker sounds ancient and sloppy. I would imagine Mr. West gets very tired of playing the same old songs...give it a rest grandpa.
