  • good.

  • you rock girl!!!!!!!!

  • go girl go? you brilliant babe? YESSSSSSSSSSS

  • You did an amazing job! Keep on singing!

  • Your voice is good!!! :) I like it :)

  • RIP Ronnie \m/ \m/

You did great with this tribute Phen. Every time I listen to any of Ronnie's songs(especially Rainbow Eyes), I get sad thinking that he will never grace the earth with his presence again. It's good to see how many lives he touched, and I'm sure he would've died a happy man knowing how many lives he changed. I wish I could have met the man at least once, or even just seen him in concert. God I would give so much for just that. Fans like you will keep him alive forever.

  • I just saw two videos of you, i get in love of your voice *_*

  • you got it going on, lol, im going to send your vids to my friends. im sure they will dig your singing as much as i do.

  • For me you're the new Doro Pesch. Keep it up girl, you're amazing ;)

  • People like you give me hope that all is not lost to hiphop/rap/emo/whatever.

\,,/ Long live Ronnie James Dio! \,,/

  • great stuff, long live metal, long live Ronnie, long live young girls who rock!!

  • I salute you and your amazing vocal chords. We all miss Ronnie, I don't know someone in metal/rock who wasn't shocked on that terrible day.

  • i like ur voice , but dont try to imitate too much Dio' voice, just feel the emotion and make it yours. Great job however , You Rock !!

  • fuck yeah dude, you get it. you fucking get it.

  • Bonnie James Tyler Dio!

  • i miss ronnie too much

he was like family to me

  • bloody stunning, i closed my eye's and just went with it, sounded just like dio, thanks young in XX enjoyed that

  • WOW!!! GIRL you are awesome!! this is coming from a 41 year old who has listened to that record since it first was released

  • RIP DIO

  • You are fantastic - Thank you!

  • I share your pain. He was such an amazing singer and irreplaceable performer.

  • I really love you; wow!

    R I P Dio

  • Good to know there are still people whu know what music means. RIP DIO ;/;/

  • @Trookieness All I can say is WOW! Ya just don't see to many girls these days who know all the lyrics to Black Sabbath, DIO, Rainbow.... Not to mention that sing these songs with such ballz...umm... I mean... such heart and soul! You ROCK Girl!!! Great tribute to the King of Metal \m/ \m/ Yes... From the heart, thank you Ronnie for Everything \m/

  • Haha, to be fair, I don't know many boys these days who know the lyrics to Sabbath/Dio/Rainbow tunes either. :P Thanks though, that's a very sweet comment. :)

  • The best tribute to DIO!!!

Can you sing Child in time,??

  • R.I.P. Dio

rock is about energy and you got it right (i know my english actually sucks .)

  • this indeed is great RIP RJD

  • Wow.. that was great.. you need to find yourself a band! As an old guy that grew up in the 80's listening to DIO that brought a tear to my eye, its so refreshing to see (and hear!) younger people today embracing the metal music from when i was younger, and not following current trends like hip-hop or whatever. So many great bands and music came out of the 1980's Heavy (Hair/Glam) Metal genre. This video would no doubt bring a big smile to Ronnies face. RIP RJD \m/

  • I really do not need to find myself a band. I wouldn't be doing the music I love any favours. XD I'll stick to being a cartoonist, thanks. :P

Ah well, it was much easier to steer away from the trends because it's instinctual to be drawn to things that aren't poisonous to your ears, like the majority of modern music, haha. Glad you enjoyed this. :)

  • @Trookieness : As you wish. But you have great enthusiasm, the Rock N Roll spirit, a good look, and you sing from the heart with passion, seems like you would have a good stage presence, with some voice training you could be on your way, but good luck with your career pursuit as a cartoonist, im sure everything you do is with passion. Take care!

  • Cartooning is the only thing I do with passion. XD Everything I else in my life is done in a very half-arsed manner. :P

  • @Trookieness : LOL! .. OK.. well thats too bad, but at least youre honest!

Although, i have a suspicion youre just being self-depreciating, but either way, its all good, take care.

  • I'm very self-deprecating, that's my schtick, but I'm still being honest. My self-deprecation has sucked most of the passion out of me, so there's just enough left for the cartooning. :P

  • Very cool and emotional tribute. It reminds me when I did this song in my final year of high school, at the end of year talent show. Just standing up in front of the entire student body (who were dumbfounded by my song choice) and performing one of my all-time favorites was a feeling I'll never forget. A year later, I saw Dio perform as part of Heaven and Hell, where I must've been about 3 feet away from the stage! Two awesome moments that I'll never, ever forget.

  • Haha, I bet they just weren't prepared for the sheer awesomeness of the song. :P You're so lucky to have seen him live.... I was going to do so back in November, but obviously it had to be cancelled. :'(

  • Brilliant tribute to the Legend that is Dio. You have a great voice.

  • You're too kind, thank you. :)

  • on & on, long live rock & roll, on & on

  • I saw Heavy Metal in Germany when I was in the US Army in 81. Favorite song from the movie was The Mob Rules and there was a lot of great songs in that movie.

  • Tuve la suerte de verle en 10 ocasiones y en cada show, cantó como si fuera el último... hoy lloro su muerte, siempre estarás en mi corazón. Aguante Dio !!!!!!!! Q.E.P.D

  • great tribute, i actuially got a bit emotional too lol. Ronnie's music will live for so many more years to come.

  • thank you . i was lucky enough to meet this great and gentle, gentle man . i can assure you he would have wanted nothing more than an angel to sing him to valhalla .

  • We lost a great one. The music lives on as he is now one of the immortals.

    R.I.P. Ronnie

  • While Dio's passing is of more importance to you than me...granted---he was great...the passion in you Darling...comes thru in your intro, moist eyes and then---the version. Lovely, my friend. Passion is my nectur. (wicked evil grin). Hope all is well. Regards, Liam

  • thanks Phen! great tribute!

He went up to catch The rainbow, and ride the wind to the sun, sailing away on ships of wonder. He will catch the rainbow and make it shine... for you... and I.

Ronnie James Dio will never die!

  • I find it moving to see how emotional you are about Ronnie's music and music in general. I'm sure he would be proud to know a young woman born a few thousand miles away from him and 50 years after him has been touched by his music. He's gone but his voice shall be heard for many more generations to come.

  • He should be much more proud of the amazing music he created and the fact he touched the lives of millions.... of all ages. Not just one schmuck like me. It's been a group effort. :)

  • Aww Phen so sad :-( I knew as soon as I heard the news it would affect you more than most but I didn't anticipate how much. It's up to people like you to make sure Dios legacy carries on (and on and on) and I'm sure it will. I reckon he's looking down on you now with his famous horns of metal held high!

  • I'm not the only one who's being a crybaby on the matter, you know! :P We'll see how it goes. We'll all try our best to carry on the awesome legacy he left behind, but he's utterly irreplaceable.

  • This was the 3rd take because I kept crying and speaking incoherently during the opening talk. XD And don't worry, you're far from being a wimp. We all had a good old cry over the loss of the mighty Dio!

  • as i stated before... the music world has lost a true giant

its very brave you upload a vid so soon and i can see you're really affected by it trying to laugh it away ;)

he wille be greatly missed ...REST IN PEACE RONNIE... may you rock with the best in heaven :)

  • I didn't want to be crying all over the place - otherwise the video wouldn't have been very metal. :P I had to make some sort of effort to sing coherently in honour of this absolute legend.

  • crank you E.L.F., Rainbow, sabbath and DIO records to 11. have a couple of beers. I drank myself senseless last night. today's the norwegian independence day. and a fucking sad one too. it's great to see someone else cares as I do. rip. RJD! he's the king of rock and roll. and he will never die. reach for the sky, and you will fly. may he rock alongside cozy, dime and burton and make a helluva lot of nice in heaven!!!

  • Believe me, tonnes of people care. Last night I was up all night mourning with my friends and my boyfriend, we were all so upset. :(

  • @Trookieness you were lucky. I ended up to try and mourn with a friend of mine that cut me off and started to fucking nag about black books?! great show. but not the right time to stop a black sabbath dvd in the midle of I. thank god I was drunk... but hopefully I'm gonna make up for it with some REAL friends!

  • It is a very good show, but completely the wrong time! :P

I hope you and your friends have a good mourning session. :)

  • @Trookieness yeah. you too.. and as a fellow RJD fan, I want to give you my condolences. and remember: reach for the stars, and you will fly.

the king of rock and roll lives on in all of us.

did you ever get the chance to see him?

  • Sadly not. I had tickets to see him in November last year, which was the first tour he had to cancel because of the cancer. :(

  • @Trookieness yeah... I remember. had a ticket for one of the Norway shows as well.. I was lucky enough to see him with sabbath last summer. and guess what! I got Tony's guitar pick! the best show I have ever seen... I even wrote him a letter before he died. I don't think he ever got to read it, though. mailed it at the very end.. this is a worse loss than dimebag darrel of pantera! what a fucking 17th of may.. (norway's national day/independence day/whatever it's called...)

  • Lucky you! That's so cool. :)

I've been working on a portrait of Dio for most of the day..... It has to be absolutely perfect, damnit! :P

It's a much greater loss. Although I'm probably saying that because I was never a fan of Pantera. XD But still, the death of a musician is always a sad occasion, no matter what musical genre, because they touch millions of lives.

  • @Trookieness yes... and I've decided. my next tattoo will be the cover of rainbow rising. then I can honour both Ronnie and Cozy. can you believe it? they're both dead... and those words are like heavy boulders in my heart..

and yes. every sucsessful musician out there touch millions, as you say. and that's the key to eternal life. the memory everyone has of him. and the legacy in his music will live on forever! through many generations to come. and covers, such as yours. magnificent.

  • It's crazy that Cozy's been dead for 12 years. 12 years without his drumming masterworks....

It must be strangely comforting for musicians on their deathbeds to realise how many people love them, and will miss them. Knowing you've made so many people happy must hopefully give them peaceful last thoughts. :)

  • @Trookieness I hope so.. but I know that Dio didn't intend this. it wasn't in his schedule. he was supposed to get well. put an end on the Magica trilogy. he also wanted a rainbow reunion. that's what hurts me the most. 'cuz he's said that on several occations. he wanted to get Blackmore back on the horse again. Sabbath was also expected back in the studio to record the follow-up to the devil you know. and I guess demoes for that, and the next dio record has been made.

  • Well, obviously he didn't intend it. In general, people don't put dying in their schedule, haha. :P At least there's a bit of a Rainbow reunion going on now.... he's probably rocking out with Cozy as we speak. :) Let's just hope the demos from the new albums get released soon so we have one last gift from that great man.

  • @Trookieness haha! yeah. you're right. but like. he was a man with a busy schedule! that was kinda my point. even on his deathbed! don't know if you've heard? thei're gonna release Dio live in japan 1985 on cd and dvd, and also a vinyl collection of 16 pieces of 180g 12" vinyl discs called "for the record: the complete Dio vinyl collection" with alot of backstage laminates and stuff. and H&H 30th anniversary edition dvd +++ god. my record collection can't handle that much more! my room's full!

  • Great work Phen, Dio would be proud.. x

  • Thank you. :)

  • sad to hear dio passed...great singer at his best in my youth...from his sabbath/ solo days...thank you for your passion you're not singing alone....rip dio!!!

  • I would love it if all the Dio fans congregated somewhere just to sing their hearts out to the full "Holy Diver" album or something..... it would be amazing. :)

  • Well done Becky. That is very brave of you to do a tribute to Ronnie so soon after his passing. I was up all night doing the same if its any consolation.. He had such a massive impact on me and inspired me to pursue music as a career.

So so sad that one of the the founding fathers of heavy music is gone :'-(

R.I.P. Ronnie. Your music will live forever.

  • It just seemed right to do a tribute sooner rather than later. Helps me get over it quicker, you know. :P I've still been a miserable git for the day though! :( I'm thinking about doing a Dio fronted songs for the Dio Remembrance Week that's being held, but I don't know if I have it in me. XD

  • @Trookieness Yes i agree that doing the tribute video will help us all at this awful time Becky. I've not heard that there will be a Dio Remembrance Week but if you feel up to it, it would be awesome if you did something for it. It would be a great contribution i'm sure.

  • We'll see how it goes. Obviously since I've been forced into using karaoke tracks (WHY?!?!?!) there's a limited amount I can do. They've got Holy Diver and Rainbow in the Dark, so those will be done for sure. I might chance it with a Rainbow song or two since my Stargazer and Starstruck are still up.

  • @Trookieness Yeah its bloody pathetic that the Youtube Police don't allow you to use the audio's for certain stuff, big thumbs down on that! :< But yes i think your Stargazer vid is one of your very best so that would be great. Pick your fave Dio-related video and you can't go far wrong i'd say! :D

  • Yeah, it sucks. I think the only Dio-fronted Rainbow song I had taken down was "Man Of The Silver Mountain" so I have a theory that I should stay away from songs from the Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow album. :P (Which sucks because I wanted to sing "Catch The Rainbow"!!!!) Rising is a safe album bet, but I fancy a bit of Long Live Rock 'N' Roll..... perhaps Gates of Babylon? I rather like the idea of belting out "Sleep with the devil, the devil will take you awaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy!" :D

  • @Trookieness Gates of Babylon would be an epic way of celebrating Ronnie's life. Not too sombre or soppy and a powerful song to boot. Its a shame you couldn't do A Light in the Black as that would be the ultimate tribute for me, but there would be a risk of no audio i guess. But yeah Gates of Babylon would rule! XD

  • No, I could - if my theory's correct, any song from Rising would be fine, and A Light In The Black is the last track. XD But I'm in a very Gates of Babylon kind of mood....

  • @Trookieness Cool, maybe you should have a crack at ALINB then, but I know that Gates of Babylon mood very well! myself If your in that mood then go for that song, its all good!! XD

  • Heh.... don't you know me at all, Nigel? By saying "you should", that automatically makes me think "I'm not singing that!!!" XD

  • @Trookieness Haha ah damn it i forgot that rule! XD I am old you know! :D

  • Thank you! great post..

    RIP Ronnie

  • Great job......Dio would be proud! \m/ R.I.P.

  • Thank you. :) It probably could've been a bit better if I wasn't concentrating so hard on trying not to cry though...... :P
