  • Bah bah bah this is so nice and high culchur of Parsions. Other peoples can't do this it's very high intellectual and need much learnings from universities to swing limbs and special movements of head for ancient history teachings of Irani kings and wise poem saying

  • Salam. Yes I knew 5 modes are avaz and 7 are dastgah but we usually just categorized them all as dastgah. Check my book published by Curzon: "Music and Song in Persia" for more details than anyone would want to know about the dastgah system, the submodes of Shur, Homayun and its submode Isfahan and how Mahur and Rastpajgah differ. It is easier to use dastgah to refer to the system just like they use raga to refer to the indian modes nor always specifying ragini for submodes. Dr. Lloyd Miller

  • Just a note: Abuata is an "avaz" and not a "dastgah." It branches out from the dastgah of Shur. Very cool video though :)
