How in the name of Samhain did this movie tank? Yet endless Michael Myers sequels continue on? Michael Myers should have been finished at the end of Halloween 2...lets face it...it was as dead as he has ever been throughout the series.

I'm crying after this. Halloween III: The Season of the Witch. How the fuck did this movie bomb when it's so incredibly scary on a psychological level? I'm 40 now and just as scared of this song as I was when I was 14.

@PaulMichaels2010 I admit, it's just as you say. Messes with your head. But people are pretty simple. No Michael Myers in a movie called HALLOWEEN? The nerve! :P

It may have done awesome on it's own with no references to the masked killer. As it is, I have no idea if there was even a backstory to him or not. All I can remember was him being featured in a commercial that was in the movie.

Anyone remember the scene where the bugs come out of the kid's head when he's wearing the pumpkin mask? The were, what?, 2 rattlesnakes that came out and some garter snakes. All the snakes were real, too. I could tell. I don't see the use of animals like that or real ones much anymore these days. They even used a real venomous snake in an old movie called 'Venom', though I haven't seen that movie yet. It looked like a taipan or mamba snake, not sure, but it was a venomous one for sure.

I remember when I tried to watch this movie when I was little. My Dad came in and goes "Oh, no you don't!", right as I was watching the pumpkin form on the screen and the song "Eight more days til Halloween'. I got to watch it later when I was 10, though, but in pieces, then 11-13 yrs old I finally saw the whole movie and freaked. And I thought it was 'Join it up with Halloween, Halloween, Halloween' LOL (The rattlesnake scene in the movie is hard to find nowadays..)
