  • Cecil is Lucky to have girl like Rosa, wish I had a girl like Rosa, one who wouldn't live me cause I mope, but at least urges me to get back on my feet and do right

  • Absolutely beautiful! Would definitely love to learn how to play this!

  • Final Fantasy 4 might be the least of my favorites, but still it was a great game. Good story and i had fun with it.

  • Gotta love 0:55 to 1:07

  • You know, I was like 13 when I first heard this song. A guy from a higher grade was playing it one day at school ._. I remember clearly, just because of the song, I ended up having kind of a crush on him. Never spoke to him or anything, I just sat behind the door to hear him play. Then I moved -3- he's never gonna know.

  • Nabuo rocks!

  • I want this piano!!

  • no dislikes!! woooooooot!

  • Absoklutely lovely... it has the bittersweet feeling, It's the theme of love, but it can be a happy love or one-sided painful love...

  • I agree with IkklThePickle, he knows what he is talking about. Also BEAUTIFUL song.

  • I miss the days when Square actually gave a fuck about character development, an interesting and inspiring plot line, music that stopped you dead in your tracks, and moments that you carried on for a lifetime.

R.I.P. the final fantasy franchise we all loved and remember.

  • @godzirraza

You mean you're bitter over one game You see, the Final Fantasy franchise is not targeted towards any specific audience. If you do not find a plot interesting, wait. It's a completely different adventure every time, after all. And there's plenty of memorable music in the new games, like the Sunleth Waterscape, and Blinded By Light.

If the one you "love and remember" is gone, fine. It's probably the new generation's turn, and nobody's asking you to stay.

  • this is gorgeous

  • @IkklThePickle I agree with you. Personally I would have been able to appreciate this song a lot more if the wplaying would have been more legato. This is not staccato btw, sounds more like portato to me. Great song, just think it could've been better. And yes, I'm arrogant enough to say that.

  • O_o

Well, I kind of don't want to post this now that EVERY comment below is a whole paragraph. lol

Anyways, this is beautiful, and all. :D

  • This is certainly a beautiful arrangement, but something seems off with this recording. Maybe it's just the equipment used, but the melody sounds harsh and percussive. Actually, come to think of it, this is something I commonly notice in piano videos on Youtube, so maybe it's a quality thing. I sincerely hope that it isn't that people have forgotten how to play a true legato on the piano... I know for fact, after playing seriously for 10 years, that a light and smooth touch isn't hard at all...

  • @IkklThePickle Snob.

  • @IkklThePickle I'll agree it is a beautiful arrangement, But I'm willing to be Uematsu has been playing piano longer than you have. I think it's safe to say that Uematsu knows what's best for his songs. I'll bet he arranged this in a style he wanted, I'm sure he coulda played it a bit more smooth. but IMO the staccato reflects the strenuous relations between Cecil, Rose, and Kain, it reflects, not only the feelings they felt for each other, but the troublesome times they went through as well.

  • @vZbCkS While Mr. Uematsu did indeed compose the original song, this arrangement was neither made nor performed by him. I know nothing about the qualifications of the artist who is featured in this album, but regardless, I am most certain that the arranged score does not contain any staccati. Such a notation of articulation would not be in the spirit of the original piece and would completely remove any justification in calling this an "arrangement" and not a "reinterpretation".

  • @IkklThePickle Alright, they aren't arranged by Uemastu himself. but that's not to say that those who did arrange it didn't know what's best, while writing my previous comment, I forgot to add that I don't have much musical knowledge, thus rendering most of my arguments invalid, but my main problem, is to see someone like you who thinks they know it all, waltz in here, and then resort to youtube comments, telling people who are WAY out of your musical league, how to improve THIER arrangements.

  • @vZbCkS Once again, you seem to have missed my point that there most likely is nothing wrong with the arrangement itself. The problem exists in the way the pianist plays. Their touch is much too sharp and nit-picky - a stark contrast to the smooth melody of the original composition. Sadly, I must admit that this is a widespread problem in much of the Asian performance technique. The note-perfection does not impress those of us who enjoy actual emotion in music, just the feeble-minded masses.

  • @IkklThePickle Does it really matter if it is nit-picky, I might not have "ten years of being a pretentious git" under my belt, but I appreciate good music, and having gotten the opinions of a few like minded mates, all of 'em seem to think exactly the same thing I do, this piece is perfect the way it is. to me you just sound like a snob. I don't have a counter argument, but I'll say this. if you think you can do better. go ahead, and if you do. I'll doff my hat to you.

  • @vZbCkS "... having gotten the opinions of a few like minded mates..."

I think I see the problem. You've become spooked by my obviously superior knowledge of music and the art of piano performance. In order to save face and preserve social status, you've surrounded yourself with a "posse" of supporting individuals of equal or greater inferiority. I've heard of this particular pack animal behavior, but I've never observed it in the wild until now.

  • @IkklThePickle I sense straw-mans and red herrings amuck.

I for one believe that the arrangement is fine, AND i have almost 10 years of piano experience. It's not a lot, but I believe that it is enough to judge if a song is good or bad.

So, can we agree to disagree?

  • @faltzar2 Sure, why not? I find it funny, though, how some of my orginal concessions have been completely overlooked - my admission that what I hear could just be youtube compression or overly sensitive recording equipment, for instance. Unfortunately, blind fanboyism turns comments that are even the slightest bit contrary into personal attacks.

It makes me sad that the average person doesn't care about true musical artistry anymore. It's why a lot of today's music is just recycled trash.

  • I asked the piano teacher to play this song when I was waiting for my guitar lesson. I just sat back in my chair and loved this song.

  • I'm learning to play this on the piano. ^.^

  • music sheet?

  • Hehe playing this game on the PSP and I'm loving it :D Such an amazing game.

  • Love? what is that...

  • @craigbout What is love? Baby don't hurt me~ lol

  • Just because your childhood is gone, doesn't mean the future can't be bright and wonderful as well. I know because I've been told as a kid by my own dad that life was miserable and depressing and that I was lucky to be a child, but that was him simply projecting his misery onto me. Childhood is just a stage in life, we all have to move on from it eventually. I would never want to go back to being a child. I want to keep those memories and continue making new memories in life.
