  • when were these demands made, I never heard of them except from this youtube show

  • What is this? Did you just ask the most economically retarded people at the protests? They want to end the FED, reestablish the gold standard, and eliminate minimum wage to provide incentive for companies who would outsource jobs. As for free money, It's being fucking printed with no actual material wealth behind it. These people are sick of oligarchy. This guy is a complete bullshitter. Man Fuck you. you want to be a slave?

  • @EdwardMarshall1982 End the Fed = using the violence of the State to step in. Re-establish the gold standard = using the violence of the State to mandate only a gold backed currency that we must all use. Eliminate minimum wage so companies won't outsource = won't stop outsourcing, but it will employ some more people. 99% of the protester messages/demands involve using the violence of the State to stop or impose something against someone. People can't think of non-violent solutions to problems.

  • @passerby26 What the hell are you talking about? State legislation is better than Federal, and the state can't control our economy. A gold backed currency would give the dollar stability. Read what I said. eliminate minimum wage to provide incentive for companies who would outsource jobs

I never said they would stop outsourcing. People are exercising their right to assemble in a peaceful manner, and they can't think of non-violent solutions? Just follow the constitution.

  • @EdwardMarshall1982 The State is the term referring to the government at large. State or Federal makes no difference, it's laws passed and enforced at the point of a gun.

Eliminate minimum wages will not decrease outsourcing. The overwhelming reasons for outsourcing are excessive government regulation and taxes (and inflation could be thrown in there).

What about those who don't have one uniform, monopolized currency? Will violence be used against us?

  • @EdwardMarshall1982 The protesters are protesting peacefully, yes. My gripe isn't with that. But, what is the end goal of their protesting? What are their solutions? I have yet to hear one idea that doesn't involve using the power of the government to reign in corporate behavior. People, of course, are making all kinds of ridiculous demands to be brought about only through government violence. Molyneux is right, people should learn some economics before taking to the streets in protest.

  • @passerby26 The FED prints money causing inflation. It then loans this money with interest to the government. The government then misspends this money on bailouts and corporate lobbyists, and pays back this money through income tax. So no we should use the power of the people to reign in the government and it's corporate behavior. People will stand even when they're unsure of the cause, but the people who are sure won't get any media coverage.

  • @EdwardMarshall1982 Ok, so what does the "power of the people" consist of? What is the solution here for sweeping change that doesn't involve using the power of the State?

  • @passerby26 Nothing. The power of the people consist in the state. I don't understand why that is such a bad thing.

  • @EdwardMarshall1982 I'm one of the people and I don't consider myself part of the State. I don't waive guns at people to solve problems, or kidnap and lock them in a cell if they don't obey. So what exactly is the plan here for ending the Fed, eliminating minimum wages, etc.? How will this be achieved without using violence?

  • More propaganda BS! Raising the minimum wage does not translate to "free money". It amounts to citizens earning the wage rather that the consciousless corporate entities. What good does it do a society for COMPANIES to have $800 billion in the bank? Universal health care? After wages there shold be NO profit in healthcare. Profit in healthcare is in sane! "Waiting lists" is more propagana. Whoever made this video is idiot, looking through a pinhole view of the world. Not worth viewing

  • @aburling7 Uh... watch more videos dude.

  • @FUZZYisBIG your point???

  • @aburling7 Raising the minimum wage means using State power (as if it weren't big enough) to force companies to pay people more. What inevitably happens? You don't hire people, increasing the unemployment rate, exacerbating the problem even further. Using the guns of the government to make employers pay more than they can pay people is never going to fix anything. Minimum wage laws actually hurt workers because employers will simply choose not to hire them at a rate undeserving or unfeasible.

  • A beautiful cello - what composition is it playing?

  • Not impressed. I'd stand with these protesters against the corporatocracy anyday.

  • These demands appear to be extracted from a list of demands written by a forum user, which were subsequently widely circulated as "official" demands, as opposed to the ravings of one particular idiot. The more official demand lists aren't MUCH better, but still, it's pointless to argue against these demands in particular. Not a good video, Stef.

  • @BelleAndTheBoy No one has "official" demands because the tactic is diffusion of responsibility. If you want to make points, give an official list, and tell us who's penning it.

  • #3 is similar to the 'basic revenue', an idea that is getting more and more popular in Europe. I don't necessarily think it is free $, but an equal redistribution of the wealth generated by the pple. Employed people are directly involved in the generation of that wealth, unemployed people, indirectly, i.e. an unemployed father raising his child and producing free videos to teach others about philo. and peaceful parenting contributes to the society and should be entitled to his share of the $.

  • @betolimoun Equal distribution of wealth? And how will this be achieved? Pointing guns at people to cough up the dough to pay everyone equally? More violence. Wonderful solution.

It's also funny to me that everyone is somehow entitled to wealth. Does this wealth extend to people in prison for triple homicides? Does it extend to priests who have spent their lives brainwashing children? Come one, come all? Who is going to be sending out these paychecks and can THOSE people be trusted?

  • @passerby26 How to achieve it? cant tell in 500 words, better research. loads of material on the net. You cant go cold turkey to a stateless society. hence, the basic rev. is a sensible transition towards that goal (my opinion). it would apply to all: employed, unemployed, priests, saints, sinners, children... BR isnt wealth like abundance, that why it's called *basic* revenue, with which pple can live without having to look for a job to make a living. Trust is *everywhere* u dont trust u die.

  • @betolimoun I love when no one can actually give an answer, but instead implore you to "go research it." I understand it's difficult to summarize an argument in 500 characters, but how is a "sensible transition" to come about by using State violence? What is the proposal for implementing all these lofty goals if not for the State?

Things aren't free in this world. Where is all the money going to come from to hand out to everyone? Resources are scarce, desires are infinite. It's not a free ride

  • I think you forgot the quotation marks around the word "free" in the oft-used passage, More "free" money.

  • Stef, I'm a listener and happen to think your ideas are quite brilliant. That being said, these gross oversimplifications and silly interpretations are far below your usually fantastic sarcasm and wit. This is really just beneath you.

  • Typical Stefan-ism

Never let facts get in the way of a good story

  • scary that some people think these are practical solutions....

  • These are not the demands I heard , it sounds like BS to me . If it is for real you would have me second guessing it . It seems like a desperate attempt to discredit the movement with false demands anybody can make up . That's Youtube for you .

  • Badly thought out rubbish

  • Actually, tariffs punish American consumers, who no longer have access to cheap goods and are instead illegally forced to waste their money on high-dollar union garbage.

  • Demand five:

ITS not fossil fuels, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!

    a-biotic...

  • Shame to the uploader. Shame.

  • @theral056 why?

  • @nurbSoldier The video propagates false claims, claims that are not what the protests are enduring for. It's sad they try to put an etiquette to the demonstation that doesn't fit it. It's sad a otherwise valuable channel commits himself to this.

  • @theral056 wrong. Stef took it from as authoritative of a source as possible. I mean, their very website for crying out loud (and the first such list to show up in a google search):

    occupywallst(.)org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-for-occupy-wall-st-moveme

  • "This is a forum post submitted by a single user and hyped by irresponsible news/commentary agencies like Fox News and Mises.org. This content was not published by the OccupyWallSt[dot]org collective, nor was it ever proposed or agreed to on a consensus basis with the NYC General Assembly. There is NO official list of demands." -occupywallst[dot]org

  • this is pure propaganda guys, don't let them take the movement away from the people

  • @freecs5adobe funny how none of you people offer anything to back up this claim, or actually have anything to address Stef.

  • @nurbSoldier Its called the free market

  • Cool vid, I don't have a clue on what should be done, I just sit and spectate..

  • Pathetic.

  • Wall Street Fools - your divide and conquer strategy won't work anymore. Occupy Wall Street is Neither Left Nor Right and has NO demands. Anybody believing that there are demands are being misled.

this is a New 3rd party and is not interested in the democan or republicrat scam. occupy wall street is a new movement that you won't understand until you have awakened to your financial enslavement to both parties. we will not be co-opted by democrats nor republicans.

  • @opsychic the fact that they want to end capitalism, have free college, free universal healthcare, higher taxes, more environmentalist policies, more government regulation have NOTHING at all to do with left wing politics!

  • this video is

A Good Example of the Desperate Propaganda Being Put Out to Derail the OccupyAMERICA Movement.

  • in all your foresight, you are blind, sir. common sense remains to escape the masses.

  • You should really take this video down. You made a mistake, it's not an "official list of demands" from OWS. You really just confusing and dividing people. Obviously not your intention.

  • As a Canadian hospital worker, I have to disagree with the waiting times complaint, Stef. We have an unsustainable luxury palace health system that spends millions on a single person...and people STILL complain that it's not enough free service. We both know who pays for all this free service: your daughter (a.k.a. future debt slave) plus my future kids, not that I can afford to have kids.

  • someones in complete denial and wearing rose coloured glasses.. lol do you think anyone believes this is what their demands were? just proves why they are there dear.

  • @Ujamesl978 Thanks for the info ! Unfortunately this should NOT be applied to all protestors. It's easily flawed and can be broken down with worst outcomes than expected ( obviously which is why stefbot chose to do so ). However, it's not fair to imply ( stefbot ) that the words of one speaks for the entire movement and actually create not 1 but 2 vids on the subject. Thanks again Ujames for the info showing it's single creator.

  • I agree with everything else you've said in this video, but I absolutely cannot fathom why you would think of labor unions as "organized crime."

  • @QuatFax Labor Unions as they exists today are no different from a violent syndicate such as the government. Labor Unions bribe the government for stolen money and bribe the government to intervene with violence against anyone who is not playing by their rules.

  • @vegetta00 Bullshit. Labor unions do ATTEMPT to gain favors from the government, but they are rarely successful, as the amount of union money going to politicians is dwarfed by the amount of corporate money. Unions have demonstrated that they are perfectly capable of winning their organizing drives without violence. The Coalition of Immokalee Workers, for example, achieved its goals by peaceful boycott.

  • @QuatFax "Labor unions do ATTEMPT to gain favors from the government, but they are rarely successful"

You obviously know nothing of the ongoing political history of Quebec or Ontario I take it.

  • @rbairos1 I can't say I do, but I doubt any anecdote you'll give me from those provinces disproves my statement. I said that unions are RARELY successful at gaining government help. Unless the majority of the world's union members live in Quebec and Ontario, I don't see how your example disproves anything that I said.

  • @vegetta00 On the contrary, the government forces UNIONS to play by unfair rules. Laws like the Taft-Hartley Act restrict unions horribly, forcing them to abandon some of their most effective tactics (such as secondary strikes). Unions would be far better off WITHOUT the state's interference.

  • @QuatFax Yes, you`re right. A Union in a Free Society would be far better off and would they would not have access to stolen money. The gov`t does indeed impose upon Unions but Unions themselves do in fact have a pull on gov`t as well. Take the teachers` unions for example. They trade votes for subsidies. So long as the government and the unions are tired together, they are "organized crime."

  • @vegetta00 I guess I agree with you, though I doubt the teacher's unions have much sway over the government (far more votes can be bought with advertising, which relies on corporate money, than you can get just from teachers as a voting block).

  • @QuatFax Yeah, true. My real grive is with the public sector unions as opposed to the private sector unions. And such corruption only exists because of the government and not as the result of the unions themselves. Gov`t can corrupt anything, it seems.

  • I'm sorry, but how do unions represent organized crime? How are unions any different from any other form of trade association?

I do agree that government shouldn't do unions special favors. But "card-check" is, in and of itself, relatively insignificant. It does make it easier for workers to form unions, but it doesn't give those unions any more power to make demands. As long as unions rely largely on non-coercive tactics (such as strikes), there's nothing wrong with them.

  • PLEASE POST THE SOURCE OF WHERE YOU GOT THESE " DEMANDS " ! They have no demands and have never stated any. All they have stated are the truths of the state of the america. POST YOUR SOURCE or you ( stefbot ) are the fabricator of these demands.

  • @stefbot

Put the "These proposals are not necessarily representative" in a bigger font. A MUCH bigger font. No one sees them.

  • my head is SPINNNING!!!!!!!!!!

  • Although the protesters may be misguided it is no reason to derail them completely. This is a hundred times better than if people did nothing, as is usually the case, last time ppl moved was for the tea party and that was not very productive, now ppl finally revolt against the banks, best thing to happen for a very long time, no need to derail it.

  • What happened to the other comments prior to you taken this down at first??

  • An analysis of a proposed platform for the Wall Street protesters.

    Translation: total BS

  • Wow these slides are so horribly misinformed it is ridiculous. And then the translation is so distorted to their views it's far, far, from a "translation". How does lowering our dependance on fossil fuels, while at the same time putting money in to research and infrastructure for sustainable resources translated to "burn all the cars at once".

    Clearly belligerent.

  • Also I've just got to add - even though I do not support universal healthcare, for reasons which would take up too many characters. I find it funny that the most used rebuttal is 'wait times'. This is true for people who can afford it, but I must point out - Waiting is much better than never getting it due to cost. The people in poverty would love to wait, it's better than nothing.

  • Lol I love how many of these videos bring up the $20 an hour suggestion as if it's universal across the protesters when it in fact was only mentioned by a tiny group of people.

The same could be said for pretty much everything on this video.

  • @peterpanmannnn So what can they all agree on, then? Down with corporations and up with college students?

  • @TheStig000 Where do you get down with corporations? Well for one thing, they all agree that corporations should have a limit on lobbying. Up with college students? Yeah they all agree college loans should be kept at decent interest rates.

  • @peterpanmannnn Why though? What is all of it based on? Opinion?

  • stop buy stuff from China and it a least save you to keep food on table. make sure what ever you do buy stuff made in North America USA or Canada and stop wasted money giving it to China, even we know when have better life from many in Asia. It will be keep us save and make the companies get back the jobs what belone to this countries

  • Murray Rothbard had all of his academic appointments paid for by wealthy 1%ers. You've only even heard of him because he was an ideological prostitute for wealthy men. This is a man who actually promoted the idea that parents should be allowed to abandon their own new-born infants if they feel like it - a heartless, stupid little man in a bowtie. Austrian economics is an ideology which emerged at exactly the same time as National Socialism and there is significant overlap.

  • THIS is NOT a list of Occupy Wall Street's objectives. Wow, you must really be afraid of them.

  • @olhapful this is actually the list of demands posted on the official website.. though i doubt half the people realize this and most would probably object

  • @olhapful actually, it is:

    occupywallst(.)org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-for-occupy-wall-st-moveme

  • @olhapful Interesting you should say that because he picks apart their "manifesto" in /watch?v=NTx6t3FUSkM&feature=relmfu. Maybe you should take a listen, every aspect of what he says makes logical sense.

  • @olhapful What are their demands?

  • @olhapful What is the list? I doubt someone in Canada gives much of a crap about economic turmoil here in the States. Sorry that this angers you. But more regulation by a government that cannot balance it's checkbook seems pretty stupid. He's absolutely right. Only sustained liberty can provide oppurtunity for growth. More laws equal more obstacles in the way of oppurtunity and prosperity.

  • @rockoutmichigan "Only sustained liberty can provide oppurtunity for growth" Growth for WHAT? Financial growth is not a virtue. It is a selfish remnant from the period our history when our species still had to hoard food to ensure idividual survival. Today that idea is nothing more than an unnecessary illusion that distracts us from the truly important things in life. Our resourses should to be spent on the survival and well being of mankind - not the individual man who wants to possess it all

  • Google 911GATE.

  • Fiat money is FREE MONEY. Don't fear change.

  • Hey assmonkey, "End the fed" is not a traditionally liberal proposition. I've already advised tea party types to go down there and find common ground or be destroyed by the currently liberal government we have. No matter how much you work for them, you will NEVER be a member of the one percent.

  • Stefan- In a failed attempt to discredit the OWS movement, you have succeeded in discrediting yourself. Shame on you. We can now see who you really represent. You are of the 1%.

  • Any american who supports open borders should be in "re-education camps." Or shot.

America needs to be an insulated country of 200 million accredited citizens. Basic health, education (for those qualified), and jobs in core industries---all socialized. No hunger, no fear, and no corruption. Independant American Bank.

We need a strong patriotic leader. Haven't had one since Jackson.

  • Who exactly published these demands? Why are you not citing your sources?

  • All should be allowed to make a living. None should be allowed to make a killing. Make all you want while you can but...when you die it all goes back into the societal kitty. No loopholes. Google meritocracy + Armageddon Conspiracy.

  • @pierce977 You can't be serious. The only problem with capitalism today, is that it is not capitalism without government interference and corruption. A truly free economic system would foster the drive to produce the best product at the lowest price.

If you think all leftover money when one dies should not go to their heirs, but to society, you are a socialist. Socialism is great in that all receive an equal share - problem is it is a meager, dismal share.

  • End the RatChild Fed Reserve PRIVATE counterfit false debt issue at usury debt slave corp. End it now.

  • The people that write this sort of stuff mean well...they're just not very good at logic.

  • “Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment”.

    Translation: More Free Money!”

    _______

What the heck is this about? Yes, whatever job one does, one must have a living wage income. Salaries will vary, but basic need to live will not.

    Stupid play with words.

  • @rollingklouds Hear, hear. I always wanted a job weaving baskets. But the problem was it only paid a few cents an hour and I would have to move to another country to get work ( a country where they don't have minimum wages and live on pennies a day ).

Now I can have a wonderful life weaving baskets and enjoy a living wage.

  • "Stefan" (jerk-off name) is controlled opposition.

  • I just have one "demand:" JUBILEE. Never heard of it? Check the Bible for details.

  • Thanks for "translating" the demands of one protestor.

You must think we're all stupid.

And clearly the big boys are scared - judging by the amout of propaganda and shilling.

The protestors want their country back - translate that.

  • Those aren't the demands of the Wall Street protesters. It is the demands put up by ONE protester. This is a very disappointing segment Stefan. You should check your facts before spreading misinformation.

  • answering ones own statements sarcastically? good thing you live in canada stefbot, you have obviously had a stroke. you would be living in a tent within 6 months here

  • Wrong, but consistently so. You're batting a thousand.

  • I'm sorry, but I am just here for the beautiful music. Could someone please tell me the name or musician behind this piece? Thank you.

  • @bdmenne watch?v=vmrKppH5Fnc enjoy

  • A good example of the desperate propaganda being put out to derail the OccupyAMERICA movement.

  • @WRHappened which part(s) are propaganda?

  • @WRHappened

as if it were going anywhere in the first place

  • I hope that you put a little more thought into your criticism of these protests for future reference rather than simplifying it into smug, insipid, and intellectually vacuous remarks. I'm sure I know where your disagreement lies, but you can certainly do a better job expounding on it.

  • your translations are garbage. no one said anything about more government control of the economy, they want LESS government control. i wont even watch the rest of your garbage.

  • holly shit, how many lies can you fit in one video?

  • great rebuttal... /slow clap

  • It's funny that they want credit rating agencies outlawed. For what? They were wrong on the credit crisis but... they're not wrong now on frankly debauched governments. So why not outlaw freedom of speech to, since essentially outlawing these agencies is doing just that...

  • Who wrote this? Chavez? Former appparatchiks of the USSR? These demands are marxist demands that have already produced millions of deaths all over the world. If these kids don't wake up soon, their whole lives will be wasted. These are the demands that lead to standing 3 hours in line for government made shoes.

  • interesting i would offer the quote from dr rothbard right back at ya there stef, why when you admit to not knowing much about OBE and NDE, would you tell someone its BS when you havent researched it because you admittedly have spent all your time researching economic history. if you dont know about it very much you shouldnt be telling others they are wrong

  • @hez1919 What are they?

  • absolutely spot on! a much needed voice of reason in a world of illusion. keep up the great work Stef!

  • Come on stef this was a bit bias man, you should have covered their actual points. 1. they want the wall street bankers to be punished even tho according to Obama they didnt brake any laws. I agree with you on most things but come on this was a bit bias. How the fuck do we get our freedoms back Stef since we live in a socialist country. Paying taxes at gun point isn't freedom. I agree with you on that, and I declared myself atheist one year ago. Let's here some solutions man, solutions.

  • @Tethloach1 What is it they should be punished for? Using the state to enrich themselves? Advocating statism? But on those grounds, the Wall Street protestors should also be punished...

  • @Moragauth Borowing the tax payers money that may have been legal but it's not right. I agree with you that they didn't break any laws but they commited legitimate theft , Tax payers money to be bailed out.

  • @stefbot Stefan! What are you doing? You're mocking the very same people who need your help! I am disappointed.

  • @yidnenda These people's ideas do need to be mocked. But then again, Stephan, so do some of Stephan's. They have the magic socialist utopia, Stephan has the magic anarchy utopia. All of these fail under the one objection that every one glosses over, or tries to poo-poo away: human instinct dominate all of our circumstance. "The problem of human nature".Yes, the state system has lots of bad. A LOT of it. But that's because it's designed and maintained by instinct driven humans.

  • @ZephZhang Nope. The only "utopia" is the statist utopia, socialist, minarchist or otherwise.

  • @ZephZhang Mocking hypotheses is not a part of the Scientic Method.

  • @yidnenda In real life, it is. But no hypothesis was presented, was there? Only a list of demands from save-the-worlders, and strawman-Steph. Using the word "hypothesis", or capitalizing Scientific Method does not validate your comment, nor make it "scientific". You presented no hypothesis, let alone a theory, neither did the protesters, neither did Steph. So other than trying to save face, the point of your response was... ? (Work it though, I'm patient).

  • @yidnenda i agree with you, but those people should hold stefs view and we would get our freedoms, the closes people to freedoms are the rich. Power to the people, for the people by the people. Not by Government. Police= nazis because they protect the government power. less cops less taxes less power to the government.

  • You have demand eleven twice on there Stef, but this is a highly informative video none the less and a great work!

  • The most depressing thing about this video, is how many commentors are blatantly showing their own ignorance and stupidity, by stating that Stef's responses are somehow inaccurate. You have understood nothing of what Stef has ever said, if you ever did. Back to school for you guys. And YES: free healthcare is free stuff at gunpoint. If you don't get it, you need to go back to "cause and consequences" class. Shame on a lot of you for not getting some of the most obvious truths..

  • Where'd you get this list O.o?

  • i dont like this video, half of it does not makes sense neither demands nor translations both sides seem ridiculous

how ever i will say that it is in my opinion that more of the tax money should go to wards improving the country living standards for the people

  • @mrmantis84 (health care, education, housing) rather than being wasted funding wars and yes there are a lot of things in the country that need to be revised, the changes we choose to make should be thought of carefully and properly planed out and possibly even put to a vote, individually.

  • @mrmantis84

Translation: More STOLEN money should be used to give people free stuff.

Why are you calling the demands ridiculous? Your understanding is right in line with them in terms of logic and principles. Aggressive FORCE does not make sense. And you are supporting it just as much as those who made the demands, not by demanding the force be stopped, but by quibbling about allocation of the stolen money.

  • When reading this, I just know Asia will become center of the world. Singapore and Hong Kong had big government surpluses this year and Singapore lowered their taxes. Both are net creditors and have big low- and hightech industries. China is trying to go the same route. Opinions don't matter anymore when China has all the industry and can buy all the resources in the world.

  • Comment removed

  • Hold on, they say they want open borders but that's after they said they want to punish foreign workers. *Must... resist... urge.... to self... facepalm*

  • It amazes me that a few people are making demands for thousands of protesters, I do not think this represents the Occupy Wall Street Protest. Until Intellectuals such as people on these freedom talk shows and others join this movement then perhaps their right and this movement fails, in which case it becomes their fault also for failing to do anything more than speak on YouTube, it requires their participation in some form, until that time perhaps they should just STFU?

  • I'm disappointed in you for this one Stef. Really, really disappointed.

  • Stopped watching when "Free healthcare" is equated with "Free stuff at gunpoint". Clearly the person who made this video is as out of touch with regular people as Wall Street is.

  • @Shrimp4074

Think about it instead of just ignoring it and throwing it away! Where does the money come from for this "free" healthcare? Taxes. What are taxes? there the money taken by force from citizens. Why by force you ask? Well what happnes if you dont pay your taxes? First you'll get letters basiclly telling you to give them your cash. If you fail to comply you'll get a court order. If you fail to show up some men and/or women with guns will show up to kidnap you. "Free stuff at gunpoint".

  • @frikodian Tell me why MILLIONAIRES can't afford to pay 3% extra in taxes? Especially those that make the majority of their money through capital gains whom end up paying less in taxes than working Americans. It's about greed, people get sick and we can afford to care for them but choose not to. And tell me, are the police force, hell, ANYTHING the government does for the people, do you look at it all being at gunpoint? When you use OUR roads that we all paid for, is that at gunpoint?

  • @Shrimp4074

They CAN afford it. What you really mean to ask is: Why should be NOT be able to FORCE people at gunpoint to give us more of their money. And yes, it IS at gunpoint. The government tells you what to do. Don't do it, they threaten you. Still don't do it, they come with guns to put you in jail. Resist, they shoot you. It is all at gunpoint. If you give your money to a thief because you don't want to be shot, he is STILL robbing you at gunpoint.

    Logic 101.

  • @Shrimp4074

We use the roads that "we have all paid for" because due to the extortion, people have been given no other option. They are not allowed to give their money to private companies for building only the roads they need, through voluntary transaction. That is like saying to slaves: "we are allowing you to stay on our property, don't you think we have a right to your forced labour?"

As if they had the RIGHT to get off the plantation.

  • @tridentmovies Are taxes extortion? That's obvious, they are technically extortion, I'm not arguing against that. Is it immoral? Yes but it's several times more immoral to let people fend for themselves without a police force, without healthcare, etc. just because they happen to have born in poverty or in worse circumstance than you find yourself in. You tell me a way we can manage to pay for healthcare for everyone without raising taxes.

  • @Shrimp4074 you believe its more immoral to allow people to peacefully and voluntarily attempt to solve these problems (in a free society) than it is to let a violent monopoly just outright steal from everyone? even tho state still is not able to solve anything... they steal from everyone... the conditions only worsen... but you say this is the moral solution? taxation(theft)? inflation(more theft)? selling the souls/futures of unborn children(thru national debts)? for real?

    **face melts**

  • @ott0Kitam You are indescribably naive if you think rich people are just going to take care of the poor out of the goodness of their hearts. That doesn't happen, in fact, in our current system that's been proven time and time again. Look at our healthcare companies, the way they do anything in their power to drop your coverage the moment you get sick, and our government looks the other way because those same companies have purchased our politicians who make those decisions.

  • @Shrimp4074 there would be more wealth created and kept in a free society, so there would be less poor people. you point at failures of todays statist system(healthcare included), implying somehow that a free society should expect similar results? but if you do feel government reflects the will of the people, (or at least the majority) and government wants to help the poor, then free (and richer) people of society would just help the poor. violence theft and involuntary contracts arent needed

  • @ott0Kitam That would not be the case at all. You people think that the free market would solve everyone's problems which is just at best wishful thinking. At least my arguments are grounded in logic. If we provide healthcare for everyone by using the excess wealth of the rich, no one dies from preventable illness. Where as in your world it's capitalism without a leash, eventually it'll result in a two class system, the very poor and the rich, worse than it is now. The majority wouldn't be rich.

  • @Shrimp4074 what is "excess" wealth? if i was to produce something, or save some money or food or whatever, and you just said "fuck it, im gonna lay on this couch for a while" and then later you came up and robbed me coz i have this "excess wealth", how is this ok? should i not have the choice to offer you my help in a peaceful manner? or should do you truly feel that you and the rest of your tribe can just smash my skull in with a rock and take whatever you like?

  • @ott0Kitam Want to use the robbing analogy? Sure, I'm robbing you to make sure poor people don't get sick and die. I see nothing wrong with it. I use the term excess wealth because I'm referring exclusively to raising taxes on millionaires.

  • @Shrimp4074 you see nothing wrong with assaulting, kidnapping or robbing peaceful people who have done others no harm? smh... and this blood money you crave is to be used for what again? to help the poor people right???(in this statist system you just admitted didnt work 3 comments ago)

another argument of yours completely grounded in logic lol

  • @ott0Kitam But we're not assaulting or kidnapping anyone. Okay sure if they don't pay taxes but who's stupid enough not to do that? So your statement is ridiculous. We're asking for a small percentage of money from people who can beyond easily afford it to stop the deaths of tens of thousands. You're going to extremes to justify greed of people whom already have everything to give an amount of money they'll barely even notice gone to the most needy. It's selfishness incarnate.

  • @Shrimp4074 ok wait, so, you just feel you can take what you want, when you want... but, the people youre robbing are the selfish ones? are you trolling me? lmao ...and the threat of force, of assaults and kidnappings, is there(if one was to resist the robbery you advocate)... btw, youre not "asking" for a small percentage... youre "stealing" others property, and trying to justify it too... also, i dont have much money either, but i know enough that stealing others money is wrong

  • @ott0Kitam You keep forgetting the main point, letting people die is more wrong than stealing.

  • @Shrimp4074 it is posssible to solve problems... without automatically resorting to violence...

how will society ever move forward if its foundation lies on violence and theft, and not peaceful voluntary interactions?

  • @ott0Kitam Just for sake of argument I'll say no. For me the lives of my fellow Americans are not up for compromise. If I need to threaten rich people with jail time to get them to pay three percent more in taxes so that people can get the treatment they need, it's well worth it. You equate it with violence which I think is silly but even if it was violence I'd still say go for it, the ends justify the means.

  • @Shrimp4074 "For me the lives of my fellow Americans are not up for compromise" do you see what you did there? you say one thing, then another, but, which is it? the people you rob, are your fellow americans ok... this system you support steals from everyone... im not sure why you wouldnt at least want to be free to choose... and not be ruled by some psychos, who just abuse whatever bullshit power you and them seem to believe they carry

  • @ott0Kitam You make it sound like I want to leave millionaires for dead. They're MILLIONAIRES. They can do without 3% of their income that they most likely wouldn't have spent anyway. And by lives I'm referring to their actual lives. Over 45,000 AMERICANS die each year because they don't have health insurance. 3,000 people die in a terrorist attack and we spend trillions starting wars yet we can't spend a couple billion to make sure 15 times that, every year, survive? Ridiculous.

  • @Shrimp4074 whether they could or could not do without that money doesnt change the moral argument of it... its stealing, its wrong... trillions, billions, all stolen money... from your fellow americans, the ones you cant compromise on apparently, tho you wont even think twice before throwing them under the bus and using force against lol... bringing neverending wars up doesnt really help build a positive case for the state o_O

  • @ott0Kitam So you're perfectly fine with letting poor people die?

  • @Shrimp4074 lol! just where do i say that? im not ok with anyone dying, however, im not responsible for the course of action taken in the lives of others... if im in a position to help, i may help... a man shouldnt be threatened to do the "noble" thing... the statist answer of more domestic violence and theft only hurts you, your friends and your family in the long run

  • @ott0Kitam So tell me, how do we get a universal healthcare system, and pay for it, without raising taxes?

  • @Shrimp4074 stef and others have some ideas on that that are difficult for me to explain in tiny comments, but seem workable... without the blood of your countrymen in the solution :P

  • @ott0Kitam Exactly, let's raise taxes.
