  • you dont have to apply the primer

  • Why a cross PVC connector in the middle? Isn´t a T-shaped PVC connector good enough?

Thumbs up so he can see please ! :)

  • No Gyro sandwich w/Cam well that a damn shame

  • I just build this. Over all it took about $30 starting from only a saw and a drill. I found that the 1.5 inch pieces that went west and east, did not fit properly and were off so i cut out a 2 inch one and it worked instead. I did not glue the north 1.5 inch/PVC cap/Screw assembly to the entire rig, it is easier to take that piece off and screw it on and then fit it back onto the rig. I have a canon T3i so it does work fine with DSLRs.

  • 1,000th Comment.

  • fig my rig ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • wow i didnt knew frediew watched indy mogul!

  • hey, i really wish you guys would put up the shopping list in the description because I don't like having to watch the video and pause it ever 3 seconds to write it down.

  • his camera has a hole in the bottom that the bolt went into. What if my camera doesnt have that hole how will the camera attach? any ideas?

  • Anyone know if this Fig Rig is sturdy enough to hold a Canon 60D DSLR?

  • @wanteddawg look again at 0:58 i'm think there using a 7D or a 5D so 60D will do fine

  • @wanteddawg built it with a T3i and works fine

  • @DeltaDude7996 oh, thanks but if am not wrong, the T3i/600D is lighter than 60D though.

  • @wanteddawg It's much lighter

  • @wanteddawg it might be, i don't know the weight of the 60D...i still believe that it should support it though, as long as your lens is not too heavy which would throw it off balance.

  • Can't I just tape my camera to a wii-wheel or something? :P

  • I built it! its really good!

  • What if i have a dslr, Canon rebel t2i. Will it support the weight?

  • @ChrisRantz 0:58 (7D/5D)

  • I bought almost all the parts for about $10 here in India.. its now ASSEMBLY TIME! :D :D

  • this is a comment itself

  • I just made my first Fig Rig with this tutorial, and I must say, it's pretty dope. Thanks Indie Mogul!

  • why are you white with black hands. . .

  • He said itself about 30 times.

  • THANKS ALOT!

  • this link was in freddies Description O_o

  • im havin some problems with it I'm made it and when i put the DLSR it Leans to the left if i lean to the left and spins and won't stay still?? help ...is this even made for a DLSR?? HELP!

  • @LilAussie1000 i'm finding the same problem...in actually a few minutes i'm going to apply the PVC cement to the connector with the bolt and see if it will fuse the screw with the PVC

  • IN ITALY IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO BUILD IT! i'have searched everywhere for that pvc pipe but I can't find the pvc pipe like the one in the video and also the "X" connector !

  • @iosonomerenda Can't you use smaller PVC pipes then?

  • Comment removed

  • i made my for $14 dollers and it is awesome thanks

  • It's okay dude, I got my own quarter inch nuts... BOOYA!

  • @Mozza215 now you gotta put a screw through them.......

  • @PowerTheQwerty there's already one going right through the middle of them

  • this is so badaaaassss.

  • I wonder if we really have to use the primer. My dad said I didn't have to. And why didn't zach cement each item at a time instead of all at once. It would have been a lot easier.

  • @sethkiller34 Your dad is right... for something like this the primer isn't needed at all. Also, the method of glueing things together one at a time works well :P

  • @sethkiller34 PVC cement fuses quickly

  • I wish he would be more specific with the drill bits and bolt sizes. For a first time filmmaker that could be useful.

  • @sethkiller34 1 and a 1/4 inch bolt i believe, i drills a hole a tad smaller or the same size as that so that it would be snug

  • Thumbs Up if you saw this before freddiew showed showed you guys in the description

  • Someone tell me those scales on centimeters

  • @Sukkaproductions 1 inch = 2.54 cm

  • Someone tell me those scales on centimeters? pleasee thumb up that indymogul see :))

  • lol the host looks like a male chloe moretz

  • @indymogul what happened to zack

  • does the uk hav all the things on the shopping list cos im a filmer but live in the uk and want no NEED one of these

  • @MystikalRandomness .... i wouldn't see why not, if there is a home depot in the UK thats your best bet... if not look for a place that sells PVC pipe

  • @MystikalRandomness definitely. This is all pretty generic stuff and you should be able to get most of it at any place that sells materials for home building/rennovations

  • @itsmemagzine thanks just wanted to know cos i need one of these but dont hav £/$300

  • WOW! Thanks your Awesome I finished building it and works great and I saved ALOT of money

  • @MrThisiswhereitsat im about to build one myself :) got all the supplys today

  • works so well I'm going to use it for all my videos! next thing to build a camera slider oh you guys also have a video for that thanx so much!

  • I just finish making this with my dad about 5 minutes ago. It is awesome. Me and my friends run a channel called HappyFilmMore. We write, film, act, and edit our films. And now we can say we use a Fig Rig. Thanks a lot and come check out our channel. We try to update with videos every weekend. We love action and comedy. So come check it out.

  • Nice job, man... I,m gonna make one, of those!

  • whhhhhyyy indy mogul!!!!! whyyyyyyy !!11

  • how did this cost 30 bucks. looks like the materials cost less than 10 dollars

  • Just got done building it. Works amazing!! Using it with my canon Eos t3i / 600D. Modified by attaching a quick release plate to it and an extra T at the top for a LCD monitor.

  • @thejobe100 shweet, i've got a T3i also. Where did you get your quick release plate from?

  • @semifullyauto i bought it from this store (itrimming) on Ebay for $8.49

  • @thejobe100 i found it, im guessing you like it? :D

  • thanks this helped a lot!

  • freddiew2 brought me here

  • wow 666 everywhere

  • @JRC1325v2 where is the 666 in this video?

  • @123Jakir just listen to how he explains how he had to cut it up and the layout he showed speaking of dimensions

  • whoa. its fat joel heyman

  • SUPER TIME LAPSE WOOOH!!

  • you should sell these :), seriously i suck at building stuff xD

  • Pretty cool, I'd probably use bike grips though because I think they'd have better grip

  • i Built it !!!!! its awesome !!!!

  • I haven't been here in a while. great tutorial btw!!!

  • @uber4ndr3w where please?

  • @shaostyle I was wrong, after going back to the site, it turns out it was just a clamp. They were falsely advertising it too >:(

  • where's the steadicam tutoria?

  • I miss this show.

  • Fraction of the cost eh?... right

  • @ 2:19 O__o

  • Thank you Friddiew2 :D

  • freddiew told me you know how to make one 4 cheap

  • freddiew2 sent me!

  • ...butterfly nut.

    Gross...

  • Freddiew brought me back here after all this time. Man do I miss this :(

  • @Gorom101 ssooooooooooooo truee

  • @Gorom101 I was just about to say the same, ripoff. Nah kidding, and yeah, missi t too :(

  • @Gorom101 Same

  • In France, "Cross" connectors don't exist, end caps... never seen... (only screwable), the 45° connectors are about $1 avg... The thread of the usual bolts doesn't fit the camera's... 90° connectors don't exist, it's 87°... So no way to build something with a fucking parallelism...

If you wanna tinker, for good, never come in that goddamn country...

  • I miss this show...

  • Freddy brought me here!

  • Freddiew brought me here. You guys should do the same with him...

  • intro sounds well good!

  • A steadicam is something you put your camera on, to keep the shaking down, and "steadi" your shot... something Paul Greengrass clearly knows NOTHING about.

  • too complicated

  • Thumbs up if Freddiew brought you here!

  • @FrankiesLife NO FUCK YOU, YOU THUMB WHORE!

  • Where do you get your pipe fittings? I'm in the uk and there is no way I could make this so cheap. So frustrating. I went into the biggest hardware shop I could find and they were about £3 for one of the 45º elbows.

  • @TheMUSEism Look at Jewson's Moreys, they sell angled pipe for about 50p per peice.

  • @Jonomundo No shit he was using his dslr in the whole intro thing

  • can this be used with a DSLR

  • @Jonomundo yes of course

  • very good thx indy mogul your awsome

  • ATEENTION IF YOU LIVE IN AUS LIKE I DO IT DOES NOT COST 30 IT COST ABOUT 60 still made one tho THUMBS UP for AUS

  • @MtoltonTV alternatively you could shop around and find the cheapest materials possible instead of buying the ones you found first.

  • @monk1junk1 true true

  • i just made mine its awesome only 22 bucks

  • I suggest putting the Cross piece in last. And make sure the pipes are the right Distance. I jsut finished mine

  • i just made it took less than 30mins to do nice

  • So why the cross connector and not another t-joint?

  • I think puppet Zack is an alcoholic.

  • I take it the use of a canon xl2 on this rig is out of the question, right? (,-_-)

  • Will this rig work the same without the pvc sement? If i just stick the piece in together? Or use something as simple as hot glue? If someone could answer this it would be great.

  • I wowed at your creation, but when you mounted that little camera, everything is ruined.

  • @bassnrifle Why? the rig works with dslrs and heavier maybe you want to be less arrogant!

  • any way to get the 45 degree-, tshape- and cross pvc connectors in europe?

I live in the Netherlands and they practically do not exist here.

Any way to get them (or any alternatives?) need some help!

  • ..wat if i dnt hav any friends? :(

  • @varyproshot just buy them from ebay

  • bring back BFX.

  • I did this for only $21 !!!

  • just did it.. awesome result!! thank you so much

  • sparkly bendy ruler #FTW

  • Just got done building mine! it cost less than $25 and it works great with my DSLR. Some of my upcoming videos will probably use it :) Definitely better than getting it for $300, I might just make a couple more ;)

  • i dont understand the purpose of that being the rig is hand held itself

  • @bphill89 believe me I know what your saying but the fig rig is there to provide a comfortable(natural) position for your hands. Standard video cameras do not provide such a natural grip. Also, the fig rig's wider stance allows the user to move around a bit without everything shaking. If you really don't trust figs then Invest in a steadicam/glidecam

  • Added up to $45 in Australia. Just made one.

  • @cwu873 Where'd you go for the materials in Oz? I've been lookin at bunnings but its more than that all up.

  • @SquareEyesSpyguy I went to bunnings at auburn.

    2x 1m 20cm PVC,

    10x 45 degree connectors,

there are no cross connectors, so i bought 3x T shaped ones,

I didn't buy the primer, so cement was $5

    Didn't buy grip,

1/4 inch bolt was very cheap,

    and nuts were free.

I have just made my own video using this, finishing post production now.

  • Without the grip it should add up to 12.45

  • Someone tell me how this adds up to 30 dollars...

  • is it strong enough for a DSLR ?

  • maybe a bit too easy but i aint got a righht tecnique

  • He Zack could you make the kind of goggles that are on the picture of difficulty level five

  • CAUTION: Around 5ft or 150cm of PVC in total.

  • Be careful screwing on the camera; if you screw it in too much you may damage your camera as the bolt is much longer than what the camera can usually screw on too.

  • i prefer the octagon, but if this is too complicated you can make a square with 4x 90 degree angles and 1 4 way and its much easier.

  • Just finished mine =] Had to change it a bit but its all working and good.

  • or you can do a bit of math.........

  • just to say, you need 5ft of PVC

  • i forgot the primer, we just got cement... what does the primer initially do?

  • @MapleGlazedBacon it makes the surface ready to stick without the promer your rig could fall apart.

  • You need 56 inches of pvc piping 54 total 56 for saftey like this so it heads to the top.

  • what's a good substitute for the lawn mower grip??

  • @atgiomt i used pipe insulation but it has to be glued down.

  • @comicreaper ok i pipe insulation it is...thanks :D

  • Can I use a BLUE PVC pipe instead of white?!! please someone reply! :(

  • @atgiomt Uhhhhh... Your joking right?

  • @pWNAgeslayer No..hehe. A number of salesmen told me that blue pvc pipes are for general plumbing and white pvc pipes are for hot water... so i thought that maybe white pvc's are stronger than blue's. I want to buy the white but its expensive... so maybe the blue is cheaper but may not be strong enough to hold cameras. That is what i want to clarify. ;D

  • Puppet Zack: ...You suck.

  • well i saw you had a dslr on the rig will it fit a 40D,60D, or 7D

  • OMG this is pure genius!!! Legend!!!

  • Is this strong enough to hold a dslr? Should i be worried about putting my 60D on there?

  • @RealLifeFilms No it is not. i have a 60D and the bolt came loos and my camera swung while on the rig. it is possoble to mount the 60D and possibly get shots of it but a quick pan or extreme kant will make the bolt come loose and possible end your camera. i just finished testing with it the way the bolt is set needs to be redone if i come up with anything i'll let you know.

  • hey guys,

you dont need the pvc cement,

    1. because your paying for something you dont need

    2. because the fig rig will fit together tightly

  • @Josephized the cements to give it some added strength and make it safer for heavier cameras, it might fit tightly but every little helps when it comes to the solidity and professionalism of the rig

  • Anybody knows if that would work for Video on Canon 600D (T3i)? I's a bit other 500g...

  • you guys have no idea how much you saved my wallet lol XD

  • that is not a 45º connecter. closer to 120º

  • Would a DSLR with a mic fit in this??

  • @FastWalkFilms yes, with room to spear.

  • You know, this will be made ten times easier if ya told us how much pvc we need in total.
