I'm interested in WW1 history and fiction, so I really want this game, but my computer is a piece of shit. I wish this was out for the 360. They should totally port it. I've played The Darkness and seen the trailers for Darkest of Days.

One thing though - I like the sci-fi and fantasy and all that, but I want a Call of Duty or Medal of Honor game set in WW1.

@SeriousIlya Yeah, I like horror too. Aliens, Predator, Terminator, The Thing and anything with psycho killers and zombies. Still hate vampires and werewolves though. But, and not to criticize this and the other two, I want a more real-life WW1 shooter.

Never played BioShock, but that's what I like about the Fallout series. It's the '50s jetpacks-and-flying-cars world of tomorrow gone horribly wrong.

Yep, exactly. But Im not really interested in the zombie/alien cliche anymore, games seem to move more into a scientific gen, so they replace zombies with mutants, and aliens with some sort of bacteria that infects humans that turns them into monsters (eg. Dead Space)

I just like zombies because the concept is so versatile - you can put zombies into pretty much any setting.

7) Throughout the game, just like in Doom 3, you find letters from people with some info or a story, however - UNLIKE in Doom 3, those letters would repeat time after time, all the SAME letters, making no fucking sense and getting really irritating..

8) unbalanced enemy AI and movements - some actions are too quickly or slow made and look unrealistic, though the AI is just mediocre

1) The game looks even worse than Painkiller, but somehow lags 8x more, even on HD4870.

2) It is actually technically twice slower than Painkiller "speedmeter 1" - 6 VS 12

3) Too many invisible walls make this game too linear and deny the fun of exploration.

4) Unlike in Painkiller, you CAN NOT return to the beginning of the level after finishing it to explore the secrets of it, you can only find secrets at a specific time of gameplay- that is total BS, challenge amd fun denied..

this game is not bad. The first WW1 part with zombies was great, especially shovel combos... But when you become the shadow warrior it becomes a cheap copy of painkiller... Shame, really, because great potentiel.

Another example of "could have been great."

If they had reduced the appalling load screen times, terrible FPS and made it more forgiving as a while then it would have been really good. As it is the game runs like treacle, if you die (which you will, a lot) you have to wait five minutes to reload, and it only gets harder.

Also the game degenerated into more "Serious Sam" style shooting after you got into the Vampires bit.

Anyway, decantish game that was released with problems aplenty.

The game is much like Return to Castle Wolfenstein - WWar Weapons, German Experimentation, Undead/Demons etc

It plays well and it's underated though I wouldn't play it more than once or twice, even though it has sub-games and online multiplayer.

Solid shooter fun without having to think too much, has puzzles and exploration, secret areas, lots of varied weapons and monsters and, well, just go play it. Got one or two movies of it uploaded, myself.
