@Matt, what your height n weight gotta do with anything? Just get the Lightning XB12Ss its a longer bike with a higher seat height, and fuck this 1125 its a Rotax engine not HD.
Nope, not a Rotax engine. The 1125 engine comes from Aprillia. But, either way, its a great ride. I rode a stock 1125CR last Saturday and was really impressed with the bike. It has a raw, animal character to it, but its a very rideable bike. Some dealers are selling left over ones for $5995 brand new!
@andyvh1959 Its a harley sportster motor, i went to a harley/buell dealer ant one bought out the other or somthing like that and its a worked harley motor
@Honda040life Not exactly a HD engine. Same bore and stroke, different cams, valves etc. Stock 2006 Buell 1203cc makes 103 hp and 86 ft lbs. A stock 2006 1200 sportster makes 70 hp and 79 ft lbs... and weights a lot more.
This sound infinitely better than a typical Harley. (Yes I know, that's blasphemy to your typical Harley rider). So what's the difference in the engine? Is it the way the engine is tuned or the exhaust, or what?
@jimmyboy131 It is not a typical HD mill. Its a 72 degree 4 valve OHC liquid cooled fire breathing 150hp mill as compared to the heavy HD mill a 45 degree 2 valve pushrod air cooled 60hp lump.
@delta88pacecar I'm 5'10 on a good day. I think I'm just a bit short for it. I also have a Ulysses with a tall seat, now that is too big for me. I think you could be a good fit. The stock 1125r ergonomics are more sport touring than sport. Moving the bars and putting on Uly pegs could give you alot more room over stock if you fell it is to cramped. There only one way to really know, ride one!
@delta88pacecar im 6'3" and the 1125r fits me like a glove. its absolutely perfect for me. but if you want a tall handlebar kit you will have to go with a 1125cr. honestly though everybody is different and you should head to a dealership and check one out for yourself to get the feel for it.
@cairnsguy22 Most are not 1 up 5 down. Most sport bikes are 1 down 5 up. My 1125R has a custom shift assembly to reverse the standard pattern to the GP shift pattern.
@Hardboi01 it was late, wasn't even paying attention, I took it as you were thinking "why isn't it 6 down, or 6 up?" And nah, I've never ridden a bike before, just own a Triumph Street Triple, and used to have a 696 Monster, but nah, never ridden one. (sarcasm in case you didn't catch on)
@cairnsguy22 lol ok fair enough and yes i have ridden a bike before seeing as i actually own one right now, and dnt worry sarcasm isnt that dificult to spot in writing
@Hardboi01 Yes 1 up 5 down. 6 speed GP shift. GP shift is reversed so that a rider does not have his foot under the shift pedal when needing to up-shift in a corner, it also makes for faster up-shifts. GP shift is primarily found on sports bikes and bikes intended for use on the track, but most sport bikes come with standard shift from the factory. All of my 1125R has a custom shift assembly to reverse the standard pattern.
@Hardboi01 Yep, the bike sees occasional track time, but alot of folks who don't go to the track prefer GP shift for the street. To me, standard pattern makes no more sense on the street than the GP pattern. Many championship road racers have used standard shift. If your bike were geared right for the track, you would not need GP shift.
The executive who killed the Buell line is an idiot. People like him are the reason government has to step in and rescue businesses. More of the younger set is attracted to sporting bikes than something like a Street Bob and Harley won't have anything to offer the next generation of cyclists.
2. they protect the bike, if the bike goes down, the pods take the impact, they actually have leaf springs in them, and the pod covers are only $50, so if you wreck it doesn't cost a lot to fix.
Yeah just bought the same pipe for my 1125. Can't wait to get it on and hear it for myself. Its probly too load for America too, but noone really cares.

Why an inverted shift pattern? Personal preference or is there a advantage on the track by using one?
MrNineTwoFive 7 months ago
@audiobomb6400 yeah makes it a lot easier to shift, especially for track days!

@audiobomb6400 The gear box is the normal. Its the shift control that is inverted.
