its sad these people live this way. but some are happier than living like us. they hold up signs for work but ive never had one to offer to work for their money. they want it free. i saw a guy up there the other day using a wheel chair and claiming to be a vietnam veteran. then he would get up and push his wheel chair to the next section to sit in it and hold up a sign begging for food. they work in shifts up there taking turns and then go buy booze. cigarettes and dope with the money. its sad

I lost my job of 7 yrs and have been homeless since March of last year.

Its been some having getting use to.

But I'm learning to adjust.

I enjoy the freedom of not being tied down to a 9 to 5 job,not having bills ,debts or rent to worrie about monthly.

Spending most of my time and my pay check.

Supporting them Frackers.

While I live from pay check to pay check.

Glad not to have that no more.

I still work when I can.

But my cost of living is alot more affordable

I see him from time to time. He lost his shelter/home that is featured in this video. You can often find him standing near SE 44 and S. I-35 panhandling. His biggest problem (besides a lengthy criminal record) is his drug and alcohol addiction.

From what I remember he doesn't like the shelters because they have rules and he's not much of a rules guy. I believe he told me he hasn't had contact with family in years and doesn't want to. He will most likely die on the streets or commit a serious crime and die in prison.

Homelessness is a very real, very sad issue. If you go to singeroflove here on youtube you'll see my homeless video "I Found God Today" Or you may be able to see it in the video response section of this page. There are people and even families that are homeless; many of them due to no fault of their own. My heart and prayers go out to the homeless. I encourage you to support your local Salvation Army, simply because I know that they do help the homeless.

You know...most American families are just one paycheck away from being homeless. I knew someone whose kid had medical problems & they couldn't get health insurance for her-all their money went to saving her life. One day, he got hurt at work & there was no money. Boom, they were homeless (but luckily they had family to turn to). These people weren't one drugs or alcohol & they worked, but life wasn't very fair to them. I know some choose this life, but get the full story before you judge.

There are many learning disabled people on the streets, who do not have the capability to even learn to read. How do you complete an application without telling an employer you can't read and you need help.  Even though they aren't supposed to discriminate they do
