Well I got my Sentra a 40 series muffler just like yours was this month, and with a header on mine, it sounded really raspy at high rpm, so today I had a 12" resonator put in to help with that ('06 Sentra doesn't have a factory resonator). Also went ahead and upped to 2.25" piping. Now it sounds better, definitely unique.

In my opinion: Do a custom exhaust at any muffler shop. that way you can spec it out yourself, it'll cost less, and your car will be unique. also, on the intake side of things, you can do whats known as a "swiss cheese airbox mod" I'm doin this on my next car because it is shown to give roughly the same power and the same sound as a air intake kit. what you do is buy a K&N dropin filter and drill a bunch of tiny holes in the airbox below it. it will give you noticeably better throttle response.
the REAL easy thing to do (if you don't want it to sound like a rice burner) is to go on ebay, get a muffler that is at least 4 inches in diameter (one that builds back pressure will sound deep and add a bit of horsepower) and then go to anywhere locally that welds and get that shit welded on.
That does sound good, but then again, I think that Flowmaster sounds good on everything. I don't even care if all the haters out there don't like them because they aren't a straight through design, I still think they are the best on a gasoline engine. I have a single 3" flowmaster on a '91 Firebird with no cat. People think it is a V-6 car until we race! Nice car though, I had a 2000 Sentra 'Plain Jane' GXE I traded a mint '97 Mustang Cobra for, and I loved it.
hey buy a JWT pop charger for ur nissan, i have a 96 sentra, with a flowtech exhaust and the popcharger, sounds sooooo nice. Just google pop charger, their made mainly for nissans, u would love it, unless u already have cold air intake or what not.
That's the best sounding after market exhaust i have ever heard on a four cylinder car. I love the deep tone, no one else makes anything like it. I have been shopping around and haven't found one that doesn't sound like a pissed off bumble bee. I hate the way most four cylinder exhaust sound.
