  • @EXOcontralto how should i build a box for 2 power acoustik mofo15's, like how big and how big of ports and what not...also it needs to fit in a honda I could build a small ported box but would it sound good?

  • @YungRekless - Check out the RE Calc!!!

  • i ment thanks for the confidence

  • @sononiz - No problem man - Just don't cut a whole in your sealed boxes to make them "ported"

  • thats for the confidence knowing that i can make a near perfect circle with out that specific circle driller

  • Hey for anyone who knows about boxes. I have 2 12' memphis mojos in a sealed box and i dont really want to buy a ported box. And I was wondering if i could just do what he did in the very begining of the video and just drill one but hole in it. would this work or should i just buy a ported box

  • @isaiahwillis95 - That's a big no no, - just make one, or buy one.

  • @isaiahwillis95 use poly-fill :)

  • hey what are the dimensions of this box EXO?

  • @AJJ773 - Not sure man - This was a long time ago.

  • @EXOcontralto ok thanx man

  • @EXOcontralto wait why cant you do that

  • @gladier1 - Because cutting a random hole into a sealed box doesn't make it a ported box.

  • @EXOcontralto what if i cut two holes and ran about 4 inches of PVC pipe in could that work

  • @gladier1 - You can do what you like, but the chamber is still going to be the same size, actually smaller once you put a port inside it - I wouldn't be surprised if it's tuned hellishly high - You will have to play a lot with it.

  • hey i have a 10 inch woofer where can i get the height width an size of the port please messge me

  • MDF dust is lethal lethal horrible nasty stuff, it's banned in a few countries. Carcinogen. Get a mask if not a router! If you do get a router, *definitely* use a mask

  • @bishopdante - I love MDF :)

  • @EXOcontralto

Get into cold climate birch plywood dude, it's what the best PAs are made from. If you want a totally dead panel, a void filled with dry sand is good.

  • Formaldehyde resins are commonly used to bind MDF together, and testing has consistently revealed that MDF products emit urea-formaldehyde and other volatile organic compounds that pose health risks at sufficient concentrations, for at least several months after manufacture.

You can't smell formaldehyde because it kills the nerves in your nose. MDF has been linked to sinus cancer amongst other things. Not working with it BTW, just owning something made out of it

  • What was with the scooter in the tree

  • @bassbeatshard - Because little kids are stupid heads ;)

  • Hey, I have a 7" deep sub and I was wondering how deep I should make the box for it? please let me know, thanks! :)

  • @76ChevyC10 - RE Calc!

  • you fag

  • @AIRSOFTINGisAMAZING - Is is that much fun going around to all my videos writing "fag"? :D - Thanks for the comments bro!!!!!

  • pontiac sunfire?

  • omg i had to do this yesterday for a friend "yeah i got all the tools" needless to say he didnt. so the hole looked SOOOOOO hacked i was emberrased to even say i built the box haha. it looked fine once the sub was in though. box sounded great too lol. i need to go buy more tools for my upcoming build!

  • Have you never heard of a jigsaw?

  • @stupidplants - Have you never heard of a description?

  • @EXOcontralto

    i read it.

its really not all that hard to find someone with a jigsaw... and if you cant find someone with one black&decker makes one thats only like 30 dollars..

  • @stupidplants - Oh well... This was like 2 years ago man. I have several videos showing my kickass jigsaw

  • How the fuck the scooter get in the tree...

  • HAHA! I have a 1.0 Liter non-turbo that will pull 192 at redline! :-)

  • question im bout to get a non ported sub box and i wanna make it ported can i just drill a hole in there with the drill and the circle part that attach to the the drill

  • theres websites for all the questions ur asking this guy... loved how u ended it with a scooter in a tree lol

  • @mecca421 - Thanks for the comment! :)

  • hey would a 45'' wide 45'' long 12'' tall boz with a port 8'' wide and 6'' tall and only 1 layer of 3/4'' mdf tuned to about 42 hertz be good for four infinity referce single 4ohm subs

  • @fingerandskateboard - I would double up on the MDF mate!

  • @EXOcontralto thanks

  • Before I had all my tools, I've used more questionable methods for cutting holes.

  • @yerboogieman - You and me alike :P

  • @EXOcontralto

    Haha I have a 12" 300 watt Kicker Comp 10C124 in a 2.15 cu ft tuned to 33 hz

running off of a 350 watt mono amplifier.

Wanna know how I cut my hole?

I took a drill with a small drill bit, drilled about 300 or so holes around the circle, popped it out,

and sanded it down with 160 grit sandpaper then sanded it down further with 60 grit sandpaper.

    Worked like a charm. XD

(Video coming up in the next week or so)

  • i had to use a jigsaw but i only made a small box for a twelve inch

  • how much wire does the big 3 require (in feet?)

  • hey bro, i have a question if i have a box in my truck with two subs and its all sealed would it sound better if i cut out some holes or something like that?

  • Beautiful! Now let's see the sub!

  • hey can i know this wood is what kind of material what is call and i wan the size

  • It's called a skil saw you morons.

  • Ha ha ha at the end first try, no warm up. Ha ha

  • Damn that was a pretty clean hole in the end and that sub box is like concert status

  • if anyone ever needs a template for an 18" sub hole, use the front grill for a stand fan lol. thats what i just had to do for my btl 18's

  • @macb00k1 lol thats what i always do cuz im 2 much of a cheap jewish bastard to buy a router. im really good with a jigsaw tho

  • how the hell did he get the scooter in the tree?...

  • @PJRehlaender - I know, right? LOL

  • @EXOcontralto right! LOL. anyways. i forgot to say what a good job you did with the box and how nice the video was!

  • check out my fiberglass work!!!

    youtube.com/watch?v=t_02Xa91Fgw

  • What kind of board do you use for the boxes?

  • Kick solobaric would of help LOL

  • Thats the same gauge cluster as my 02 cavalier lol

  • was it even a wood blade on the sawzaw

  • I dunno what everyone else is talkin about, that hole is good enough to poop in!

  • @macb00k1 - I didn't own one at this time...

  • Whats the point of the baffle peice??

  • @Tremendousthrob to hold the speaker in the box?

  • what size was that

  • how the heck did that scooter get in the tree?

  • Help!!! Guys I'm making my own ported box for my t5 15. 3.5sq tuned at 32hz. the trouble I'm having is getting the length for my port(slot) im using those port calculators online and they all give me a number bigger than my depth, what does that number really mean? Thanks

  • A trained beaver would have done a better job....

  • @fasteddie4145 - That may be true, but I had a fun time doing it.

  • i would like a copy of that metal song in the intro. pls send to me thanks

  • VERY IMPRESSIVE

  • how do you figure out the tuning frequency of a port?

  • @paultakular You have to use a port tuning calculator. Look on the12volt. com theres one on there

  • how can I build a box with 37Hz ??????????

  • Box must really heavy...

  • How did the scooter get that high in the tree?

  • my dads hoopde will do 100

  • i turned a 12" box into a 15" with a chisel and a hammer in my room, of an apartment. haha

  • Hahaha I have a 1.8 L in my 88 integra and I don't redline till 140 and I haven't even really upgraded anything but my intake exhaust and I have fucked up timing hahaha other than that it's still stock

  • OMG.. you're an idiot goin 6000RPM with 1.6L engine.. was it on the 3rd gear?

  • that makes a ghetto build look like the real deal.

  • what kind of wood is that

  • One thing, when you make the box for the speaker make the joints of the wooden boards in a "pigeon tale"style, it gives more strength to the box resisting better to sound pressure.

  • i wanna hear that thing in action xD

  • Fuck it man, if it works. Ya know?

  • 0:40 Looks ... Star of David

  • Hey buddy I have 2 15 inch solo baric l7 in a potted box and a car audio battery all the 0 Gage cables and a capacitor but no amp what would u recommend I don't want to spend alot something cheap that will do the job

  • hahaha

  • is that an outside toilet? so huge!

  • EXO the cavalier is 2.0L not a 1.6L

  • 102 In a Cavalier.......did you get caught?

  • doint atemt is right i tried drifting at 100 and almost fucked up my car

  • holy crap dude i would have let my borrow my jig saw :/

  • video title says it all _ u are 1 wacky guy LOL !

dude how can afford a $400-500 sub & not a $30 jigsaw instead of going through all that trouble

  • @EXOcontralto I Need to know something, How the hell do you tune a box?

  • Tuning is a long topic I'll make it short. There's TON'S of ways to even do a port. Aeroports, Slot port, Round ports etc. Most common are slot ports.

To tuned a box/port you must calculate the cu ft of the internal volume of the box first. Then calculate the Width/Height of the port on the outside then the board that directs the air out also known as the -L- which is the board of MDF on the inside of the box there are calculators to do this Hope this helps.

  • I sent you a PM of the website.. Youtube is being VERY dumb they don't let you post links to websites... calculators for port tuning is on the site and if you need any other help let me know I'll help the best I can.

  • Man i love the subwoofer box could i get the measurements fo it im in need of a good box design

  • A man whats good with you. I had to get new a phone hit me so I can lock h back u jn

  • Where can I find wood that thick because I have a fi 18 and the flimsy wood they have at home depo jus doesn't cut it

  • lol

  • @EXOcontralto hey i was wondering whats the name of the material that u put on this box. i saw it in a video of urs its really cool...I just Got 2 XXX RE audio sub 18" dvc 2 ohm, and i just finish with my box..and i want it to put the same material As u..Pretty Nice channel men.. i i love all ur videos..Plz Comment back thank's man

  • how the hell do u get a scooter in a tree???

  • two simple words :hell boys

  • drill to start it off and jigsaw could do it too, for anything down to a 6 inch hole.

under that ONLY a router will work properly.

  • That is a greasy hole you made sir :p

  • song in the intro?

  • @brainstormer9 - A metal song I made on Mixcraft

  • which the tool you use on the 1st circle

  • Comment removed

  • did you glue two sheets of mdf together?lol

  • @bballnave - Of course... As well as screwed together.

  • @EXOcontralto --nex time if u have to use the skill saw which i doubt u will cut it like a pizza into eighth's but then go twice for sixteenths.i had to do it 1 time but u still pulld thru wit da sawsall

  • @bballnave you never use mdf, hdf is the gold standard. it doesnt flex as mdf does.

  • @benzieproductions Theres nothing wrong with thick MDF.

  • hey EXOcontralto haha man i think i can top this one well storry goes ...dnt have money for a box or for tools and cant wait to borrow and look for tools so i use what i got ....and i made a whole for my 12in sub useing a 1/4 drill bit ...made LOTS of holes got a hammer ...you do the math lol

email me ill send you a pic if your curious ram315@live.com

  • EXO!!! I have a question I built a box and it is 6.4 cubic feet...lol yeah i know...Do you think that is too big? Thats with out the divider of course...Do you recommend having a divider...Or do you think i should port it with a big rectangle in the middle of the subs...The subs I have two 12'' Kicker Solobaric L5's...Help me out man I want MORE BASS!!!!

  • not bad considering the tools

  • make a video on how to install the equalizer..

  • i do that with my jigsaw

  • thats the best way to cut a hole lol!! :D

  • What I wouldn't give for a nice jig saw or a router right about now.

  • " do not attempt unless your poor like us!" hahaha funnyest thing u ever said xD

  • that maybe one hell of a big box!!! u were in side it lols u can kidnap some one ah throw their body in the box lols

  • 0.660 CC Goin 120KMH :V

  • LOL Uh i woulda done that for free! I install systems i build boxes for free when you perches subs from my store!

  • hey do you live in north dakota? lol... cause i swear i saw you workin at starbucks the other day.

  • @sgtdoink - I live in New England lol

  • @EXOcontralto haha well nvm then.. good vids tho. keep em comin man

  • @sgtdoink - Sure thing man! =)

  • that is the thickess mdf ive ever laid eyes on wat is it 2''

  • I got the same stereo!!Nice Vids too!!

  • what kind of glue did you use for the sub box

  • I'd f*** around like that if I had the stuff and time.

  • jesus, what were the demensions on that box? fucken huge!

  • lot by what ever looks right

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Killer job considering what it started out to look like lol

  • Thank you! I appreciate the comment bro! =)

  • Yes, the hole did turn out smooth. Doesn't that MDF make a mess of the shop.

  • lmao ur inside the box. its fuckin huge

  • a simple $30 jigsaw would do ya good. No need for a router, especially no need for all this tomfoolery.

  • routers are not that good either for these kinda jobs a good jigsaw will do.

  • Comment removed

  • How thick is the wood that your using.also would plywood work ?.and how thick should plywood be ?

  • you should use MDF would that would looks pretty thick but 3/4 should work good

  • i already found that out myself.thanks anyway.

  • @CobraProductionsTV NOOOOOOO always use 3/4" MDF lol any other wood is a no go

trust me i do this for a living lol

  • @bmb1455 You clearly dont do it for a living so...

beech is a better wood, more expensive but is more rigid and lighter, also HDF is heavier but a lot more rigid for high power installs.

  • @RippedJolt Birch? Is not as acoustic as MDF or HDF

  • @RippedJolt im glad you know so much about my store. i use mdf by personal choice, not because its the best fucking wood on the planet.

  • dam lol didnt think the box was that big xD! looks nice

  • damn i had 2 do the same shit yesterday!!!!!! u used a dremel wen i got close though

  • how the fuck do 2 little kids get a scooter stuck like 10ft in a tree??? awsome box shit looks sweet..

  • hahaha you determined bastard

dude im a cabinet maker and have been for 10 years and that circular saw shit was dangerous, BUT i know what its like to build sub boxes with shit tools, been there done that when i was 18 haha

  • Actually Ive cut a few sub holes with a sawzall for similar reason, didnt have router with me and all my dad had was his sawzall lol turned out good man :)

  • where do u get the end of these videos! (LOL)

  • that's some thick ass mdf!

  • You can say that again :)

  • @moguls914 unnecessary bro. i use 3/4 mdf but half is acceptable but that looks like 1 inch. maybe for the front where the sub are mounted but for the whole box is outrageously unnecessary.

  • what is song after, "this is a bad idea" ?

  • hey can some1 tel me how 2 find out at wat hz a box is tuned to ?

  • Meter a sine sweep outside the car, and it will display your peak frequency -

  • Go to the RE box design sit...You type in your box dimentions and it tells you the cubic feet and the Hz

  • thank you!

  • what kind of sub did you use?

  • AA / Mayhem 18

  • haha i just had to do basically the same thing... im makin fiberglass speaker panels for my front doors, but all i got is a jigsaw and a B&D wizard... sucks balls

  • Whats that thing called you used to make the hole @ 0:15.?

  • @714to530 Just called a hole saw. It's a drill attachment but is really only meant for cutting holes in plasterboard for electrical fittings, takes a long time to do MDF, you'll need to drill dust holes around the circumference at least but it can be done.

  • @714to530 well thats a drill, and that mysterious tool hes holding in his hand @ :25 is a screwdriver :O

  • lol the offsprings playin in the background

  • It's actually not the Offspring playing in the background ~ I have all original songs for each of my videos ~ You can't hear this music anywhere but here.

  • no no i mean in the background as in the garage dude. lol. not the music u put on the video lol

  • i like the box

  • 1:57 i was not expecting that :P i didnt realize the box was that big.
