I don't think Beck understands how ethanol is made. They take part of the corn (actually the unnecessary part for feed) and make ethanol. They then take the helpful part and make feed for cattle. This gives the cattle a more healthy feed and provides ethanol. So the idea that you have to choose between corn and fuel is another attempt to strike fear into people and it sounds good until you actually look into the process.

@not8upwthit If you're a corn-farmer, who would you sell to? Would you sell to the guy who pays you $40/ear (of corn) for ethanol use, or the grocery store which pays you $2/ear? There's a strong economic incentive for people to sell to ethanol industries. If it's immoral to make money as a consequence of someone else's suffering, then transfering wealth is immoral. Why is trying to make a profit immoral?
