I agree with redskins5740, i am a volunteer firefighter. I risk my life going into the fire as everyone else runs out, to save complete strangers that i never met before and i dont ask for nothing in return buti agree that we should see that kind of money.. because any call could be our last.. and as i always say.. Pray for us as we past as every ride may be our last.

Yes there are people who do appreciate what you do but most dont until they need you. While we have football players making millions of dollers (and always begging for more) to play a game and we have those who risk there lifes to save others. Police and firefighters should see that kinda of money!

Oh my dear, I am not offended in the least.

In my station I am referred to as a fireman all the time. It is just a description, same as the term 'guys'. I take pride in the fact that they don't feel the need to correct themselves and use 'firefighter'.

It means that they consider me the same and that is the biggest compliment of all.
