They had syrup (from making soda-pop) in them. Costs too much to have them cleaned out. It's harmless, but does take a while to clean out.

I bought two of 'em from this guy last year. Filled about 10% with water and left out in the sun. Rolled it around for a couple of weeks. Leave it on 1 side so soak off they syrup for 2 or 3 days. Roll over. Rinse Repeat. Bleach water when clean.

Will be back to pick up 4 more next month if he's got 'em.
