@lordofallfantasy The "humanoids" seem to be some kind of "lizardmen" as mentioned in the description of the previous video. they seem to be wielding either pickaxes, hammers end swords(the things that glow red at the end)

i'm a royal and i fought the spider boss like a knight and won easy,lol.he's soooo frickin easy if you have the right shield and spear(my setup was cling ring,fire ring,water veil,purple flame shield, winged spear slightly upgraded to maybe +3)= total pawnage.his flame attacks never even scratched me while i was defending to get close.after that it easy.he got pathetic attacks close range except for the huge Flamethrower/burner attack which i just dodged back like crazy,lol

when that happens,its time to use sheer skill to defeat him than just rely on magic.you know finding an opening in his attacks,defence,etc,lol.

why do you upgrade 2 long swords at once? what;s the benifit?

If anyone is having trouble with this game and hasn't progressed very far, restart and pick the royal class. Some people would call it n00b, but it has a ranged magic arrow attack with a rare ring that regenerates magic power. Then once you have completed the game with this character then try with a close combat class tower knight or a wanderer, I know other classes have ranged bow attacks but arrows don't regenerate. After all this game is made for multiple play through's. :)

@craiglackenby screw them who calls others noob for choosing royal, thats what being "tacticallly smart" means in my book,lol. plus as much as i prefer close combat,its really not advisable for beginners to use such classes.plus choosing a royal doesnt mean be all end all of any close combats,its just a starting class.

@azzimaz Yeah true, Royal can be moulded into a ranged and CQC. You know some people do call it a n00b class though but I'd say starting the game with a knight is a n00b move and will end up in a lot of frustration. :) Royal FTW! lol

@craiglackenby hahaha,yeah Royal ftw!!!!,lol. although i'd hv to add a little, starting as a knight is not completely bad as long as they can get a good shield like the one near those Dragons in Boletaria and a friggin decent Spear(winged spear comes to mind).seriouslly anyone just starting up, a good spear n shield will go a looooong way keeping you alive n well add that with a knight's good defense from the get go,its not all that hard to be a knight too honestly.farming will be a pain though

@azzimaz I've wanted to give knight ago you know from watching ppl play it but I've lost my saved game 3 times now for one reason or another. Atm I'm just not wanting to play it, good thing though Demon Souls is a game you can forget about for 6 mnths and then just get out, start playing and back in love with it. So maybe I'll try the knight and get that shield.

@craiglackenby yeah,always get that shield ASAP as soon as you defeat Phalanx and get a Pure White World Tendency,lol. i'm probably lvl40-50+and that shield is still serving me although i have much more useful ones like spiked,steel. i have adjudicator shield although i dunno why i cant upgrade it.so i never use it coz its sooo weak,lol:P

@raintixon well,i'm not sure bout the Knight shield,but i'd suggest since u r a wanderer for now,definitely upgrade heater shield since they both r pretty same.from what i know if i remember correct,Heater is the 1st 100% damage block shield available at shop,while a Knight class comes equipped with a Knight shield.just remember to hold off upgrading once u reach the "Quality ....."upgrade options.sometimes its just better to wait until u hv the right materials & upgrade on that path.

@raintixon as for tht foggy door in 1-3, you need to kill a major level end boss demon in any of the world to get it open. the easiest is to just kill that dumbass stinky breath with disgusting saliva spewing moron shown in the main opening CGI called the Dragon god demon, or something along that name found in Stonefang Tunnel,lol. after you finish killing the kickass Flamelurker boss battle,lol. good luck and try to get that Purple Flame Shield as soon as u get WWT if possible b4 Flamelurker:))

@raintixon fighting Flamelurker one on one with PFS equipped with Cling and Fire resistance ring pretty much makes his fireblast attacks feel like ant bite when blocked properly,lol. he's awesome to fight but you can see how telegraphed his movements are after the first or second time fighting him melle. key thing is as always: keep right distance (not too far,not too close), maintaining proper defense at all times if not attacking him, finally proper stamina management as you see fit.

@Fiendlord9 true enough,lol. but where's the challenge in that ehh.useful if ya just wanna get over it,but not a fun way to fight. personally,i prefer fighting as much of those bosses head on without ranged of any kind (well except for the first red Dragon in Boletaria,which was just dumb to get hit by my arrows repeatedly,lol). it just feels EPIC when you fight head on in Demons Souls. case in point,try fighting Flamelurker head on.i promise you'll feel the rush like no other fights,lol.

Yea, I've made several different characters in Demon's Souls and my favorite has got to be a mage. it is quite epic using melee, especially weapons such as Claws, which are quite underrated.

@azzimaz I just fought it and died. I gotta build up my stamina a bit more just because...So far, I'm doing WAY ok with my wanderer. Only one problem, 2-2 is the most scariest stage for me, especially the long road. And before I could even fight the Flamelurker, I have to go down the pitch-black crater which is a bitch! Last time I went down, I ended up walking slowly in a narrow tunnel and saw something big, round, and red crawling towards me. I just quit the game at that moment lolz

@raintixon lol,yeah those r probably the tape worm type monsters. they're easy to avoid n not needed to fight at all most of the times.although if u wanna fight them,just maintain guard & poke them HARD with timed R2 attacks from a good spear,lol:P btw,you should try playing the Tower of Latria,hehehe. that place still gives me the creeps with that dumb "electro bell ringing octopus" monster there.

@azzimaz I just went back and UNFORTUNATELY, I just found out the hard way that if you quit the game on any point in the game, you'll still be on that same spot with the same surroundings. Also, that big red thing I saw was NO WORM. I literally screamed when it got closer to me. Right now I'm just trying to upgrade my winged spear +6 so that I can kill the Flamelurker already and get that stage over with. Oh man, when PSN resolves their network issue, wanna help me out with some coop?

@raintixon hmm,what could it be? maybe is it the lava monsters?? i dunno exactly which spot u r so i'm confused when u say big red thing. oh wait,i know its kinda hypothetical question in Demons Souls, but did you die more than 7 times in that area?? if you did die more than 7 times or above i believe, you just made your Stonefang Tunnel turn into Pure Black World Tendency (PBWT) unfortunately dude:( i dunno if it effects Boss strength or not,but the monsters are more stronger in PBWT.

@raintixon and when any of the world is in PBWT, you can find a very weird type of rare demon lurking about in the maps randomly, i forgot the name but high end players usually try to get and farm the rarest of the bladestones from that monster.i cant remember the demons name though. i haven't met it myself,since i try to keep my death ratio as low as i possibly can and also i only farm for souls a lot and a few other types of normal required bladestones for weapon upgrades in Stonefang.

@raintixon or i may be wrong you could have either seen that rare demon i told ya which after some info digging i found out is called the Primeval Demon OR you could have met the 2 in game Black Phantoms in one of the tunnels. if its Primeval Demon, easy kill coz it mostly will not attack you if you just kill it fast normally( strong attacks) it only attacks once or twice occasionally. on the other hand,if its those 2 in game black phantoms, try to fight them one by one,lol^_^

Sony will be requesting us to do a system update which will make us change our i.d's frm what i read.

@azzimaz lolz believe it or not dude, but I just looked it up on google. It was actually a bearbug I saw a few days ago. When I was running along that narrow tunnel, the path split into two parts. One path led me into a giant pool of lava and something big was coming out of it, so I just freaked and ran back. I went the other way and I saw another bearbug but it was big and red. It really freaked me out, so I just quit and started a new character -_- ...it was terrible.

@raintixon ok yeah now i know what you saw,its those big ass giant looking bugs which comes in 2 types:flying & huge ass crawling type,lol.don't worry,you can just back track your way from the direction you came fromin the cave if you r in the same spot.try referring to some map of Stonefang online.its really not that hard to get out to the nearest teleport point. also if you do manage to get back,try to make it a priority to learn the Evacuation spell if u hv a talisman,it'll help a lot.

@azzimaz Actually, I found the cave while falling from the giant pit, so going back would be suicide cuz I cant see whats down there (actually suicide doesnt sound that bad). Plus, I made my character an archer type, he can't use miracles...It's all good though cuz my new character far surpasses my first. I even got a white bow!

@raintixon great,great,great. glad you took the trouble getting the white bow,lol. white bow is AWESOME,just remember not to kill a npc dude called "Patches the Hyena" even if a screwed up SOB merchant near world 4-1, 4-2 (before the soul farming point with white bow) tells ya its better to kill him. "Patches the Hyena" as i believe, is the only guy who sells this powerful type of ARROWS in the whole game. i telling ya coz i actually killed "Patches" after listening to that SOB merchant:P

@raintixon and then only after realizing my mistake, i actually saved that Sage Freke guy and went back and killed that merchant for good for self satisfaction.oh and i'm on the lookout for his whole lineage too,lol,kidding:) but yeah,this merchant tells me something bout how his family instinct never lies bout judging people like "Patches". but to be honest, "Patches" is kinda of a bastard really,it's just for that powerful Arrow only which i usually let him live mostly,lol:P

@azzimaz lolz I killed Patches back in 4-2 for two reasons. One was kicking me down that hole like a bitch and two I wanted the thief's ring he had so that I could fight the boss. Eh, I'll get the arrows next playthrough eventually lolz

Is it just me.. or did anyone else find 4-1 the easiest stage after 1-1? I kinda just gave up cause I kept getting lost XD and moved to 4-1.

I started with Temple Knight and I found an iron knuckle in this stage and I went to 4-1 because I thought I didn't need to kill flamelurker to use Blacksmith Ed, it turned out, The Ajudicator in 4-1 takes like a minute to kill, and getting to it was pretty easy, but those mantas got annoying fast.

if your familiar with 1-1, you can keep on killing the red eyes knight for 2000 souls, then just load your game right after you kill him. beware of old king doran, he kills you in 1 hit no matter what. after you get some higher stats, go to 4-1 because the enemy's give lots of souls. (beware, you might die in 4-1, all the enemies are very nasty.)

@Troo44 you should at least try figuring out on your own before asking for help. as in like REALLY trying. that's the beauty of this game.

if you really cant, do this cheap but works everytime trick. turtle (block) and circle around the red eyed knight. when his back faces you, backstab him. rinse and repeat.

oh, and dont let him heal. you'll know when he starts to back off.

@Bakalar Cant just "try" to kill a red knight when they can one shot you and break through your defense. forsing you to lose all your soul and a bad spot.

this game makes you do research on how to beat the gameplay. which is why Iam going to ask for help.

Because had I not asked, I would likely have assumed that the Red Knights were unkillable mobs or something, used to prevent players from progressing in that direction before unlocking something. No way to no unless you alreayd knew.

@Troo44 well, i didnt research. plainly coz i'm always stubborn. i die plenty of times to the red knight before i figure out a way to kill him easily. if you had noticed, certain attacks breaks your guard easier. like when he shield bash you.

also, dodge provides you with mini seconds of invincibility.

i think research is one thing. but continuous effort is another. just a matter of time and effort.

Lul, just now I decided to take a ride down on one of those, looped elevator things, I fell, died. After respawning I took one up, saw a body with loot, jumped after it, fell again.

Well, basically what you could potentially do is, killing the monsters with the bags, get ores, come back to the gate, and upgrade your shit, then go to the level desired.

Actually royalty is the smartest class if you want to make a good character, you start at level one meaning, you can control every single one of your character's stats from level one. So basically, it's easy mode for level 1-1 1-2. then you become a mage or knight or whatever you want because it's a blue print class. Use your head before you open your mouth and comment.

What the hell are you talking about? I said that royalty is easy. I didn't say anything about what they should or should not be. They ARE the smartest class to play, I never said they weren't. You can make whatever character you want, that's why they're easier than other classes.

@weglarz i disagree, things are certainly smoother with royalty,but for the most part it still boils down to how a player maintains his guards at all times as much as possible while finding any opening in the enemies attacks guard to exploit.they are still the tough enemies they are.royal class only helps in the sense that you can just get past those low level dreg enemies easily,but its not logical to keep using soul arrow on an enemy which is getting hit with just 10,20,30 damage at a time

Wrong, when in soul form you offer to help people who are alive. If you defeat a demon with them then you get your body back and can wait for other souls to drop their soul marks and offer to help you so that they can get their bodies back.

It's a very easy place for Royalty Class which is what I am, just shoot soul arrows at them and they die in 1-2 hits.
