  • stupid jap

  • funny I was just listening to that song on the commercial before watching the video. only soundtrack I'm missing now is Phantasy Star Portable. very weird I see no official release yet PSP 2 had one... : /

  • I wonder why they use a English name for a japanese game?

  • God, its was great to be a gamer back when Phantasy Star II released in America .

  • all kinds of win!!! i actually started playing this game again on thanksgiving day because i never beat it....and japanese video game commercials are cool anyway....saikou!!!!

  • This game was freakin' ridiculous. I remember I used Game Genie and literally spent all day playing the game and I only got through like, one level.

  • did u notice that the music when u are in a battle is the version on sega smash pack vol 1?

  • yes I even got that version on pc. I LOVE THIS TUNE

  • ゲームは支配する!

  • i want the metal version of all phantasy star 2 songs D:

  • God, I LOVED this game! I paid $80 for this game on its American release. I even remember the complains in gaming magazines about the tip book packaged with the game. They thought it would spoil the fun in discovery.

  • Actually, you wasted a few seconds typing that...

  • ownt.

  • I wish that Nei had lived to be with the one she loves

  • I thought that it was kinda creepy how Rolf was like a father figure to her and she's only a a few years(months?) old and many people online thought she should 'hook up' with Rolf.

  • Yeah XD I always thought it was like a brother kinda role for Rolf I guess most people just didn't pay attention to the story that well.

  • yeah, nei was his pet. creepy.

  • I love II and IV, great games.

  • I bought the Mega Drive Collection for my PSP yesterday... PSII, III and IV man how I have longed for this moment... did'nt get my hands on them when I was a kid, only borrowed IV: End of the Millenium once from a friend. one of the best rpg's of all time (graphics and size ain't everything, story and feel that's the key)

  • The Genesis Collection for PS2 and PSP is well worth it for just the PS games.

  • yeah, very true... I kinda miss the old 16 bit era... good times

  • PS2 is the mother of all RPGs even before final fantasy IMHO. I remembered how awesome it was to equip the left hand 1 weapon and the right hand another.

  • Yeah that was my number one moment in turned base rpgs like ever when I saw the left hand AND right hand it was a bit of a wtf moment for me. They should really make a new installment in the series thats not online so they can focus on the great story telling and inovative gameplay of the old days(not that I didn't like the online installments(I love PSO not so much PSU) I just think if they made a new one it would be a major contender in the jrpg scene.

  • I first read the PS2 as PlayStation 2!! Lool, my bad!

Although I did not have the chance to play PS2 back in the days, I hold a lot of respect for part 2, the series and SEGA in general! : )

  • dude, Phantasy Star II is on my Top 5 favorite list for Genesis games of all time. Like a portal back into my childhood. Nei was the best character, too bad she had to be killed, off ... she would have rocked it if she survivied till the end

  • Yeah, but at least she more or less return for two more games.

  • After being inspired by your vids, I think I am going to fire up the ol' genesis and plug in the PSII cartridge, get to the end of the game and film some of the sequences; maybe the ending itself too.

  • Alas for me I had no cartridge I was introduced to the game via sega smash pack vol. 1 for the dreamcast. But damn did I love it XD.
