@zibbybone ... No doubt. Just saw that yesterday. I'm thinking about owning a current SEM again. I would probably be happy with a regular patch panel, if you're selling. ;-)
@DeathByDinSync I need to sell some things first as I've gone a bit overboard lately with new toys: Eventide Space, Oto Biscuit & Sherman FB-1. My SEM is still MINT, I'll probably want $800 for it, just have to decide if I really want to spend another $400 to have both MIDI and patch points.
@zibbybone ... Yeah, me too. In the process of selling a few "side items"... in order to collect cash for a SEM. Just let me know (email, FB or here). I'll probably be looking to buy from somewhere in March.
Hello. Is it possible to modulate the VCO's and filter with ENV1-2/LFO while using the patch pannel, or do you have to switch it to EXTERNAL? I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to do some dual modulations, just to see if it really worths to upgrade my MIDI SEM with patch points. Thanks!
@Pighood No, the new ones have the patch points on the side. The original SEMs did not have external patching (except CV/Gate INs), but many people modded them.
@zibbybone Actually, the NEW new ones, the SEM-PRO, just released a month ago, have the patch points along the top and the midi interface on the side.
@TR0jAX The patch panel version allows you to reroute the internal componets or patch in external modules. The patch panel version requires an external MIDI to CV/Gate converter if you want to use it with MIDI gear. The MIDI version acts as a standard hardwired synth with no patch capibiliies. However, it also includes an "auxilary CV" which allows a user-selectable parameter with multilple destinations to be controlled via MIDI .
@TR0jAX Yes, the patch panel version has more sonic capibilities. None of the wierd noises you hear in this video would be possible with the MIDI version. Only the last minute of my video could be created with the MIDI version.
You will need the Mog VX-351 Output Expander to connect your Voyager to analog synths with 1 volt per octave scaling such as the SEM (and all ARP, Moog, Oberheim, Roland, SCI and Korg Mono/Poly)
Thanks for the great demonstation

what is the difference between the midi and patch pannel version ? Do i have any restrictions with the midi version ?

@zibbybone therefore you have more sound possiblities with the patch pannel version right ?

Not any synthesizer can produce high-pitched sounds which sound good. SEM can do ... thank you for proving this. Now I definitely need one!

Did you remove the internal 'strapping' of osc1 & osc2 to get these results?

@fourhornedtoad Sorry, I do not understand your question. You should be able to see the patching I did in this video.

I love it. Some parts in the beginning remind me of Ayreon's into the electric castle. How do you get the sound at 01:17?
