  • i meen is camstudio free

  • is it free?

  • Hi, I've been using a stand alone mic to record myself and was wondering why there's noise in the background of the track. Also, is there any way to remove it?

P.S. It's just general, background noise that you can hear when there's no sound being made at all :)

  • @greenyxi just tune down the mic, you have the pick ups too high. what mic are you using?

  • @dearjennyyy Thanks for the reply, it's a mic that I bought at a supermarket. It was called Asda Smartprice Microphone or something similar, so I wasn't expecting brilliance.

Can I ask how you tune the mic down?

  • @greenyxi the way you tune it down is by the program your using to record. i.e. audacity has a mic volume witch lets you control how much you want it to pick up

  • @dearjennyyy Ah, you've helped loads. Thanks :)

  • @greenyxi anytime

  • What kind of headset do you use or do you use a mic? Sorry if this is an overasked question

  • what emulater do you use???

  • Whenever I try to record TES4 Oblivion with camstudio it just gets a small window any idea why???

  • I know this is a pretty old video, and that you're not the CamStudio helpdesk (:P) but since you seem fairly experienced with it, I was wondering whether you've had a problem like this before.

Basically, I'm trying to record King's Quest VI with CamStudio, but for some reason, I get a black screen where the game should be. The desktop, border window, etc. all draw properly.

Interestingly, the problem only occurs when I force 256 color for my display. In 16-bit, it works normally...

  • I've never had that problem before :( I honestly dunno what to tell ya there

  • how do export files from windows media?

  • Whoa, that's convenient. I'm about to start doing a Let's Play.

Though, my sound isn't currently working. X_X It's all plugged in and unmuted, but nothing's coming out - speakers or headphones.

  • as in no sound is being produced or your mic just isn't picking it up? (

  • No sound being produced.

Sadly, I think it's a outlet problem. The output outlet probably isn't working on my computer. So, it'll probably have to go to the shop...

So, anything I'm doing is probably going to be put on hiatus.

  • I'm sorry to hear that :(

  • Ah wait.

Actually, I'm borrowing a laptop, so I guess I can start up with it. Until then, my desktop's in the shop from tomorrow to who knows when.

  • might be a good idea to wait till you get yoru desktop back unless you know how to transfer save-states from PC to PC lol (I've tried, I never can keep my save states)

  • I won't get too far, I don't think.

    I'll figure it out.

  • kk good luck ^^

  • I think that you need to set the camstudio settings to record audio from speakers. He didn't go on to explain that the audio settings need to be functioned the right way.

  • I always thought Lifeshaver does as much damage equal to it's current Lost Hp (obviously capped at the characters available HP to drain)...? Or Have I completely overlooke and misinterpreted what it does...

    Anywyas. nice little tutorial.

  • lol i have no idea I've never really knew how it worked XD

  • At one point in the video I start talking about Life Shaver in FF6. I said "I read online that it deals damage based on your XP" it sounded like I said HP. but I said XP or "Experience Points"
