  • Dell would sue him.

  • nice

  • I lolled at "It's engineered to be so efficient, it runs on a quarter of the power of a single lightbulb"... It's not like every modern (speaking post-2000) would do that...

  • @cerlestes Actually, the new power saving features of notbooks that are coming out today use half the power of ones a couple years ago. LED lighting and new APU/Atom type processors are power sipping. My new Acer netbook uses 18 watts at full power while charging the battery (10 watts when not) and it is faster than my 5 year old p4 notebook that draws 90 watts at full power. AMD C-50 CPU, 120GB SSD, and LED backlight on a 10" screen.

  • @SirFrag32 And for comparison, i have 2 22" LED monitors that use less power combined than my older single 24" cathode lit monitor.

  • So, is it safe to eat it?

  • This ad is more powerful than the original one.

  • YOU FAKE RETARD. THIS IS AN APPLE COMMERCIAL. YOU JUST ADDED THAT SHITTY GREEN EFFECT AND PUT YOUR NAME AT THE END

  • Fake!

  • DELL = HELL

  • cooool

how ive been tryin on iWork 09

  • apple sucks my ballzzz

  • Oh I am sorry

Mac is for people that want a laptop that can fit in their vagina and/or there Mangina. And Why would I go out of my way to move my finger down to the bottom right when there is a button that I don't have to move to press it?

  • er i'm greening

  • Mac is for people that want a laptop that can fit in their vagina.

PC is for people that are smart enough to right click and want a functional computer.

  • Brilliant video! Apple MacBook is the greenest of all laptops. My friend suggested I go for the student offers here in India. Here's the toll free number 1800-425-4646

  • are they alound to dis dell, just cause macs suk?

  • lol "Dell" nice work buddy

  • @Nnemicvids i call them dull XD

  • DELL Lol...

  • LOL! Dell

  • where do you get all of apple's cutseens?

  • I want a Mac Book now..

    lol

  • this was an amazing ad,

you should consider sending it in to apple,

    unless you already have?

    its amazing.

cant wait to see more of your work :)

    Thelulilulu

  • @TheLulilulu steves email is

    sjobbs@apple.com

  • @TheLulilulu he dont think he made it. it was on tv before this was posted.

  • @TheLulilulu apple wont be interested and this app wont be ewer released, because they offend an other company, that's against advertising rules.

  • u work for apple?

  • Looks like someone is ignorant of ROHS.

There's no mercury in any LED-backlit laptop... like my ThinkPad and Asus.

As for power consumption... it's the same as any other laptop with the same specs, they are using the same CPU GPU and chipset afterall.

  • lol, most laptops use a florescent for back lighting; florescents have mercury...

  • Every mac user I know religiously supports CFLs, so I don't think they're worried about polluting their own homes and the environment with something known to cause brain damage and birth defects... statistically children and brain matter... is fewer with mac users.

Macbooks are just as "green" as any other laptop without a CCFL... LOTs use LED, even cheap ones, ie. $650 Dell.

  • Nice video, I'm surprised it was made in Keynote. I really need to get my skillz up in that program. I hope Apple maintain their focus on the environment and keep bringing the 'green-ness' of their computers up to new heights. =)

However, I'm surprised you mentioned Dell. They're not perfect, but IIRC, they are actually doing fairly well environmentally. Correct me if I'm wrong though!

  • Green= a sucker pc(mac)

  • dell=hell

  • Considering the fact that every time you need an upgrade you throw away your computer and buy a new one.. The Dell would be better for the environment...

  • because you can upgrade a dell laptop more than an apple laptop?

    nice logic.

  • Generally you can...

  • whaaaaaaat? theres macs' from years back running the current operating system not to mention you can send it in for a memory upgrade for RAM and whatever.

  • Yea that fucking means nothing, I have machines that run B and still work, they have no fucking use at all, but they can run it. And another thing that shows how stupid you are is that you, the memory of a laptop is by far the easiest thing to up grade, you take out the battery and then unscrew the door to the ram, *click click* both dims of ram are out *click click* both dims are back in, costs a lil bit, but no you want to send it back to apple and throw your money away like all mac fags.

  • Comment removed

  • all you had to do is tell me not get all butt fucked about it

and yes i realize you can take reinstall a better ram and memory size infact i've done it before, some people just dont like taking the chance with static electricity and shit

  • You cant damage your computer with static electricity from changing ram, static electricity is only a danger to a open circuit with some hardware that's as delicate as the cpu. Also your grammar is terrible, you make no sense at all. Its so bad I don't even wanna guess what you posted in the comment you removed.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow you're a fucking idiot, I'll repeat myself, YOU WILL NOT DESTROY YOUR RAM WITH STATIC ELECTRICITY, RAM is one of the most resilient components in the computer, the anti-static products are mostly used for the CPU (A Chip packed with billions of transistors making is super fragile and vulnerable to static electricity) and for compare it to RAM, RAM almost never comes in anti-static packaging, and if yours does then its really just for safe measure, if you destroy RAM with static electricity

  • then you were doing it intentionally or you have a weird situation where you gain extremely excessive amounts of static electricity. And FYI, your grammar is horrid, "yes i realize you can take reinstall a better ram" and "oh and Static electricity is the bane of RAM; one zap can fry the fragile chips in an instant dumbass " why use a semi colon when you have already butchered the sentence structure.

ITT: Macfags thinking they know about hardware, that just makes me sick....

  • im typing on a computer, im not writing a report

  • jesus christ

Apparently I'm not going to win this, since I'm a "mac fag who knows absolutely nothing about hardware"

your right, i don't know SHIT about hardware but i know that static electricity can harm components of the computer whilst replacing the ram. ..... but I'm no fag, i love macs though.

Look at all these "how to replace ram" videos, they tell you to touch something metal to discharge any static electricity from yourself. I'm pretty sure they don't just do that for shits n' giggles

  • No, they do it because they don't want you to blame them if something goes wrong,

  • lol, RAM! if you know, RAM has a plastc coting around the chip, no static can do anything. even if static where to enter the conductors, it really wont effect it. Hell, flash drives are the same way, and never have I had data loss even directly applying static to the chip itself. I even put a high-powered magnet to it WHILE STILL ON nothing. Only thing is that I put two magnets on each side, so i guess the n-s poles messed somthing up, causing it to un-mount from the computer. STILL NO DATA LOSS

  • To much spare time in real life.

  • thats why u need to be earthed idiot, its the same with all pc's

  • WTF send back to apple? Are you fucking kidding? RAMs easier on a mac than a pc (Least in '04 when it was easy); turn off, open keyboard, take out wireless, unscrew, pop out, pop in, screw back on, put wireless back on, put keyboard back on, re-boot. Easy... (though it seams long) New ones just need a few screws taken, pop ou, pop in, no problem... lol

  • ROFL, yaok, you're subscribed to SoldierKnowsBest, so you obviously know nothing about computers or even Macs.

  • @ llollercoaster, that has to be the weakest arguement ive seen in a long, long time... way to go genius ._.

  • Yeah, someone who gets they're information from a blatant liar isn't someone who should be informing people, you're a fucking moron.

  • in what way does he lie then?

or is he just voicing his opinion about what he likes and dislikes?

and is it this opinion you disagree with which makes you believe hes lying because you have such a narrow mind? :)

  • Is this possible by only using Keynote?

  • nop

  • love the bouncing apple!! Sweet ad!!

  • oh my gosh this is what i have!!

  • LOL DELL WAIT IS SOPPOSED TO BE FUNNY

  • wow how do you made this ad!?

  • Read the description next time man ! Keynote 2008 :)

  • Maybe the animations you made with Keynote '08 :)

There was definitely so much more work outside of keynote you have not mentioned :)

    Eat Toilet Paper?

  • Nice add, I like it.

the song is 'Run' by 'Brodcast2000' for those who want to know

  • cool

  • name of the song?

  • its soooooo awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great

    love it

  • this is really good

  • this is really awesome!!

  • That was very amazing :)

    Good job

  • Ha, love the without the chemicals part, DELL!!!!!!

  • WOW that was really good, I thought it was a real apple commercial

  • lol dell is hell

  • Nice remake looked neat!

  • nice

  • Of course, you need to balance that out with the fact that Macbooks are about 40 percent slower than PCs in the same price range...but hey, it's green! Who needs a powerful computer?

  • what the hell the best mac books virtually load the internet in 3 seconds

  • they don't. And you can get Windows based computers that are faster than 3 seconds and still cost less than any Mac.

  • my mac loads the internet in 1 second!

  • all cuz the hardware specs are lower dosent mean its slower, and the macbook is a portable notebook so compare it to portable windows computers in browsing and boot speed - then compare how long it will last and how well built it is

  • I relly dont think that 2.4GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M & 4GB RAM is slow.

  • Whoa! 2.4ghz! Let's see, my sub-thousand dollar PC has two cores @ 2.6ghz...and 4gb RAM is pretty much standard these days, at least, it is on PCs.

  • I still proved it's not slow, and OS X can utilise the Ram ect alto better than windows ever could. 4GB is defiantly not standard on most PC's.You get what you pay fro with Mac's if anything ever goes wrong( which it hardly does) u can actually go into a shop talk to a real person and they can fix your problem, normally free of charge. No international phone calls to some person in India, and no I'm not being racist because I have been through that before. Thats just one example of many.

  • No, but it's not fast either, and that's important. I suppose though, that if all you are going to do is spend 3000 dollars to surf the internet that's no problem at all. And actually, it is. I was in Staples about a week ago, the standard 800 dollar computer with free monitor after rebate had 4gb. And it was a very standard PC. More powerful one's often have 6 to 8 gigs anymore.

  • mac's are fast, you just got to use it to understand, they have a streamlined OS, not a bloated ancient one. look at dell (a respected OEM) and If you know anything about computers you should know to buy quality, unlike dell, who have a history of setting on fire, yes that's right setting on fire, my friends a few months ago, the charger started to literally burn. They use substandard quality to get the prices down but leave you with a home made bomb. Who wants that?

  • You do realize that the biggest single reason PCs are so much cheaper than Macs is that one person doesn't control all the pricing of all the products? Steve Jobs has a monopoly over Macintosh...no one else is allowed to manufacture Macs or Mac OSs, an you can't even install OS X an a PC unless you want to break the law. That's why PCs are cheaper than Macs, not cheaper parts. Also, you say a history, but no, Dell had one, count 'em ONE recall. That's it.

  • steve really does care about the products he doesnt want to ship junk, to do that he needs to control what is let out. He wants apple to been known for their quality not putting any old thing together, he see computers as craftsmanship, an art, it's an expensive way to do things but what you get is the apple experience and you can't put a price on that. Dell should have more recalls, google it you will see they had a recall in 2004, but in a Japanese conference a dell burst into flames in 2006.

  • And if you notice, the battery that caught fire was of the same type Dell had recalled, those people simply hadn't returned the battery. Get your facts straight.

And you say that I can't put a price on "the apple experience?" I think that I can...about fifty bucks. I'd rather pay a lot less for my computer and get the same functionality with a lot more programs and hardware than get a pretty thing with about half as many programs compatible out of the box. Also, Steve is kind of a douche.

  • hay, you need to cool it a bit, it's fine having this debate but yet's not let it go out of hand. I assure you for $50 you will not get the apple experience. And mac's can run every OS known to man, PC's can't and you can say well that coz steave dosnt let them but that dosnt change the fact that you cant. with boot camp that comes free with every mac we can run every piece of software on the market. steve used to be harsh, that was becuase he believed in apple so much that he wouldnt ship junk.

  • Listen, my PC could run OX X Leopard, except that I don't want to break the law. In the statement you must accept prior to installing any Mac OS it says that you cannot install the OS on anything but a computer my by Apple. PCs don't do that, Bill thinks that if you're computer can run it, fine.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could go to a pirating site and download any Mac OS I wanted and run it. PCs generally don't need emulation software to run other OSs.

  • well well done for not breaking the law, i hate all those pirates out there at least we agree on that. But even if u do u still dont get 100% of OSx such as the way it works with the apple track pads and so on. I personally think Bill just wants to sell as many copy as he can and if it dosnt work too well on ur computer then, ur fault. Also i agree u can emuate the OS but u can also run them natively. Mac's can dual boot OS's and from my research windows cant.

  • PCs can dual boot easily. In fact, I prefer dual booting on PCs. I use a Mac 9 and OS X 10.3 and switching is inconvient. With PCs you just start the computer and it gives you the option right there.

And of course Bill wants to sell as many OSs as he can, that's just good business sense. The reason Apple doesn't have to do that is because it has a complete monopoly over the Mac market, seeing as every that Mac can legally be run on is made by Apple.

  • Oh right thanks for telling me, I didnt know that PC could dual boot., i'll research into that. Well I don't know too much about Mac 9, but it's easy to argue how bad it is when it came out in 1999 and the final release was 2001. But I did hear it was pretty bad so i'll give you that, but OS X is mcuh nuch better than OS 9 . and you can have the option when booting up, thats what dual booting means. But what i dont think Pc's can do is open one OS while another in running (eg Parallels).

  • My friend, he has this program called VMbox, and with it he runs Vista, a pre-build of 7, and several copies of XP at the same time. He's massively parralel. Also, if you'll note, one of the OSs I dual boot with on the Mac is 10.3. I just personally dislike the way that you have to switch, by first starting one and then choosing the other and then restarting. Windows lets you do it before you start either OS, so you don't have to restart.

  • Oh right cool, i'll look into that. VMbox seems to be quite difficult to get hold hold of, just a google search dosnt seem to come up witha download page. On Boot up you can choose which OS you want to use, its a key board short cut.

  • What's the shortcut? That could be useful to me.

Sorry, I gave you the name wrong. It's actually called virtualbox...but it's website is down for some reason. However, there are alternate sites where one can download it, although I'm not sure that it's compatible with Mac.

  • It's something like holding down shift, or cmd, or c. i dont really use it coz i use a virtual machine. ok i just wanted to know for my friend who uses a PC

  • YOu could instal it but, the average person could not. YOu do need to know some stufffirst,

  • Really? Like how to press "accept" on the license agreement that you are about to break? Or how to press next, or choose the hard drive/partition to install to? Because all that stuff is really quite easy.

  • so good! how did you do that! so gorgeous and the voice! omg so cool

  • That was really well done. I think you should've toned down on the fuzzyness of the product - it's a shame to hide such a sexy thing. I think Apple's was a little more efficient in getting the message over though.

  • Kind of full of sh#t, but hey, Apple's really good at convincing people Apple they are right

  • what's the song in the commercial?

  • the song is 'run' by 'BROADCAST 2000'.

  • this is awesome i love u!!!jk

  • nice.

  • Every video of yours is on a much higher quality than Apple's. You gotta call them sometime. Or make you're own commercializing business. Get money, lol. Great video.

  • Nice! I liked it :)

  • Very nice! Though in a real ad I'm guessing they won't show something specific like DELL, but I can't really find a better way to suggest other manufacturers and still make it blend in with the theme of the ad.

Anyway, its really great I'm just adding my 2 cents.

  • Nice job!

  • I don't know how to do any of that in MY Keynote '08! Please tell me! =D

  • pretty cool

  • cool and poor dell ^^
