The powerbeam LED serves more the purpose of warning others of your presence rather than helping you to see things ahead. The Cree one is more like a proper bike light for lighting your way ahead.

Thanks for showing a comparison. I'm about to purchase one for 12 bucks on eBay. I'm looking into the one for your head which is the same Cree q5 style but for a head strap. Would you know what the run time is for both high and low?

@crammage Cool cool. Yea that's what I found it for too on ebay after buying mine. I would put a link but it won't let me it seems. Is there a special way of adding a link? I have to find out. Anyway yea 12 sounds real good.
@crammage On ebay look for seller xiyangyang87, I got it from them and they have various pricing on ebay. So I went with the bidding option. They go for around 10-20USD, I got it for 12 plus a few bucks shipping. You have to look around. The same seller has a bunch of difference pricing schemes.
Oh man I got to get me one of the Cree Q5's thanks for the video it made my mind up for me.

but that doesn't even make sense !
if something is zoomed in it would be brighter and focused
and zoomed out would be wider and not focused , if you take off the lens its like a lanturn , wider than if you had it zoomed out all the way
why they have it backwards if beyond me
