  • It such a sad sate of affairs that we can't camp out where we choose. I know there are idiots out there that do not have the will or skill to take care of where they are. Maybe there could be a certificate that could be obtained from DOE centres that could verify campers/hikers know how to not disturb the land they are on. This country makes me sick with it's laws, telling me I can't even go and sit on some dirt if I want? WTF!! I'm doing it anyway. Leave only footprints, take only photo's.

  • Yorkshire bleedin dales holy crap im an hr from there, please please were about in yorkshire dale, thanks ! Dan

  • @danwormald LOL I filmed this on Sulber Nick somewhere...not saying exact location. It's a huge area protected etc at foot of Ingleborough. Have a wander - it's a great area

  • hi please were is this in the uk, thanks

  • @danwormald This was in the Yorkshire Dales

  • wow THAT IS AMAZING RESOLUTION and picture, please could you tell me what camara you used to film this, thanks mate love the vid. Dan

  • @danwormald Camera? Canon HV20

  • What was the name of you cooking Pot

  • good advice but everything is too heavy. Go Lighter!

  • @grandslam1998 Ssshhhhhh weight facist, let them take what they want! You did not hear at ANY time that they were even TRYING to be "Uber light weigh packers" did you? No.

  • @bikenutter1 True. It's aimed at beginners really. Wouldn't be wise to recommend they spend hundreds on lightweight kit per se to discover they don't really like backpacking, eh? Besides, Yuri's kit in this video was all in a 40ltr pack. So, it wasn't too heavy anyway. Lighter than most in general I'd say

  • Youtube at its best in my opinion. Thanks for another superb video Terry & Co.

  • @SuperHoffen Thank you. You're very kind

  • Last year I purchased an identical sleeping mat to your dark red Alpkit in Decathlon (London) It's sold under their own name... may be help to the viewers of your excellent uploads! Funny how we all have our little wild camp luxuries, mine is extra virgin olive oil (in a small plastic bottle from Sainsburys/Tesco) - makes cous cous simply delicious! Tesco also sell small 125ml cardboard cartons of red/white/rose wine... great together with your evening meal!

  • Great video. I did my first wild camp last week and you're a bit like me, haha! I like your little lantern, I never thought about that, but now I am going to buy one!

  • I don't think that a small candle lantern is a luxury. It's surprising how much heat they give off and light is comforting. For safety, hang it a couple feet down from the top of the tent and be sure that your lantern can survive being accidentally knocked over without igniting the tent. (It's not a good idea to have anything burning inside the tent while sleeping, but sometimes sleep sneaks up on you.)

  • I've stopped this after 10 seconds just to say I love it!

Hope it doesn't go downhill after this.

  • Great - really informative and superb music ! many thanks

  • great video, i keep going back to it every now and again and watch them again.

also have you ever thought about replacing hard or soft cases with plastic bag (carrier or sandwich / food bags). the example i thought of was your "washkit", you could save a small amount of space and weight if you put them in a small food bag, the ones which you would put trail mix in and are about the size of a mobile phone.

  • As you know, i like watching your videos in the still of the night, i keep coming back to this one as it describes wild camping to a T.

It goes a long way to busting the myth you need to spend hundreds of pounds to enjoy wild camping, you don't and this is a great demonstration of this.

Btw, been a long time Yuri, we must hook up soon my friend.

  • @twighiker LOL Well, I prefer the first part myself, mate. Funny that eh?

  • HI MATE WHATS THE MUSIC AT THE START AROUND 0:40 ?

  • Well done Terry, great bit of filming and editing and all with a mobile phone!!

  • great video , funny aswell especially the video ending,

  • nice vid! how is the Sololite doing? ;) i plan on getting one, but i am not quite sure if it has enough space for a big rucksack inside the inner wall? i dont like placing things in the apis.. if its not enough space i have to get the duolite... ( 700 grams more :( )

  • @cumulustree Sololite is dusty but will be coming out soon for the winter season ;)

The porch has ample room for a pack but that depends on how big it is. Others I know have bought a Sololite and they have no problems

  • Well done Terry for your fine editing, great vid with the help of Andy, and Yuri thats a fine analysis of basics equipment needed.

  • fantastic

(I hope you know your classic movies!)

  • Superbly made video, and really inspiring for me, as I'm having a go at wild camping again. It's 25 years since I last wild camped, so I hope I'll still like it!
