  • God Bless her I LOVE her

  • NOw that was a class ACT ! WOW !

  • My best interview ever watch

  • I wonder what poor uneducated African boys think about north American feminism?

  • Seven people have black hearts and no souls.

  • Wow! Just wow. Such respect. Damn, Oprah rules...even letterman. But no seriously he really treated her like the lady diva she is and yes indeed he's a marvelous gentleman.

  • what an outstanding achiever and human being oprah winfrey. a true inspiration.

  • lovely interview and DAve was a gentleman!! Her life is a great inspiration to others!

  • Nice one, I like Letterman, I like Oprah

    .

  • about oprah, she has influenced me to take in a foster child, AND SHE WASNT EVEN ON HER SHOW SHE WAS ON DAVID LETTERMAN!!! She is a magical woman...with many talents and one of them is that she knows how to open up people and make them care about things that people should care about. :) I LOVE YOU OPRAH!

  • She's an okay actor and an okay everything. She's just mediocre - it's mystery why she gets all this adulation. I just don't get it.

  • @whadawethink Because, for example, she probably won't make this kind of pointless negative comment being in your position. It's the person she is that draws people to her not what she does... Get it now?

  • who is Oprah Winfrey ? What is the appeal over so many years of this mediocre talk show host ? The humanitarian stuff is admirable but have you seen Ms. Winfrey's house ? I have never seen a person so confident and full of herself. How dare she challenge Letterman ? If I were letterman I would ask her point blank - You have no talent and yet you are super - rich because nit-wits watch your show. Letterman is not Howard Stern - she obviously doesn't watch Letterman.

  • @whadawethink WOW! She has plenty of talent...that's why she's where she is. She's a great actress. Why can she not be confident? Yeeeeah...that wasn't the best comment. However, she's in Chicago and doing many big things...let's not hate on her, lets try to follow her example.

  • @whadawethink you make an interesting point however they would both put down talk show host as an occupation so what is it you are getting at regarding talent? one minor difference we could look at is dave works for cbs and gets a paycheck, oprah owns the shop.

  • Dave has loves Oprah for for years! well over a decade like he said 16yrs! damn thats a lasting love right there.

  • in the nicest way this is SUCH great publicity for oprah and dave isn't it?

  • dave wants to fuck oprah sooo hard

  • Oprah got all the money. She could bail out the government and Wall Street herself.

  • I think Oprah was scared before this interview. she didn't expect David to be nice

  • you can tell she's been speaking into the camera for a long time cause she keeps looking into it. its like she's having a conversation with people watching on tv/youtube and dave lol I like it

  • she looks beautiful

  • @nessy17142 you should see her without make up SCARY

  • wut about a boys academy u fukin sexest

  • This was sooo cool!

  • she looks great

  • yeah I can never find my name on stickers and keychains and all that other junk! I feels ya on that one, Oprah

  • oprah know what she talkin' bout

  • I really believe that he has great admiration and respect for her and having children did soften him.....

  • Loveeeeee this!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!! :.)

  • her controlling aspect is disturbing. i doubt she has it all together the way she portrays herself...

  • dave has really good manners, we can learn something from him

  • real talk - kmMREw5k-Bw

  • nice and pios

  • penis

  • dont watch it then. switch it off and vote bush

  • correct. tax the rich, some of which happen to work their balls off to get somewhere and the government just takes it.

  • Wow, I missed this. Oprah really had a different spirit during this interview! She seemed much more down to earth, and maybe even more eloquent than usual. Obviously she was surprised that Dave was being so nice and asking her about her philanthropy. Wish I had seen this sooner.

  • I don't think much of Oprah but man I am impressed with how she remained gracious with Dave on this show...if u watch the last interview 16 yrs ago he was an ASS to her and the audience were quite cruel..I wouldn't have gone on for ages either.

  • she's doing something while some others do nothing!

  • Okay let's not dub her a Saint just as yet. I am from South Africa and even though I respect Oprah, I do think that some of the stuff she says is incorrect. First of all, girls are not second rate citizens in South Africa. They have rights just like everybody else and there is a plethora of successful and famous women in S.A. Secondly, her school is not the best school in South Africa. The staff she hired is not competent and compared to all the other private schools in S.A., her shool sucks!

  • If you have such good schools in Africa and superior ones to Oprahs why did you leave and go to Great Britian?

  • well that applause seems a lttle bit phony is that pre-canned?

  • sorry- Dave was his true Asshole self- bringing up negative shit - explicitly Africa- in the wayyy he that he did.

OH- and then saying, "I don' t want to embarass you, but WHAT are you doing?" Flip that back on yourself Dave. She actaully just said that to everyoneL What are WE doing?

  • haha you must be joking....she is proud what she does, Dave is proud so why not bring it up?

  • Everyone breath. This was a stellar moment!

  • David conducted himself well, he could have torn her apart lol

  • Oprah is very very very lovely women. I was surprised that she builds a school, giving education to people who do not have chance. Wish you the best Oprah !.

  • I dont give a s**t what u think about Oprah but I'm an African who has experienced first hand the work she does in Africa.... so F you in your comfortable life with ur starbucks. Oprah is great, she might not be perfect but she is damn great.

  • Dav is real Gentleman.. Thats whats up.

  • I actually don't think Dave is very funny (and have NEVER thought he was very funny), but I do think he is more down to earth than Oprah is.

  • Damn she's a great woman !

  • i love that dave says "it's like we're getting married" right before they go out. LOL

  • oprah's great but i think that she is missing the point a little with africa & india.... i think that the problem with both countries recovering is that there is massive corruption in high levels of government there which prevent many methods of international aid reaching the designated people in need...

  • i love that dave says "it's like we're getting married" right before they go out. LOL

  • There is a project where they put a free computer with internet and programs in a poor city and children started using it to play games and read information on the internet. If I was rich, I would fund more programs that offer free internet to the poor so they can educate themselves and fix their countries.

  • hey letterman you are a great guy.handsome ,generous , FORCEFUL ,and lot more ,i wish you read my message.special msg from al khobar . saudi arabia. may lord of the lords guide you always.THANKS FOR BEING A GENIOUS THESE PAST THIRTY YEARS.

  • is it true she kicked tommy out of her show cause he said tht he doesent want to sell his cloths to african american ppl?? someone pls correct me if im wrong and pls direct me to the vid if im right XD

  • Idk, but if that's true, ummm.... what's wrong with that?

  • shes made a big difference in this world

    point blank period

  • zeropointproject that was a real IGNORANT statement.....HOw much could you give out of your pocket to help starving people???then compare how much Oprah can give out HER pocket...

  • that's very true...poor people have a much better grasp of world issues.

  • This is partly true, and partly false. Rich people WHO ALWAYS have been rich, can not be taken seriously. But when you grow up poor, LIKE OPRAH HAD, then you can take her seriously.

  • all false. She became obssessed with herself, its just uncontrolled narcissism, 95 percent of celebrities have egos bigger than themselves. The real down to earth people are people who can see the faults in there character and act on them, like dave. Its almost like oprah telling herself shes great and trying to reassure herself. But really shes emotionally small, so she tries to reassure by saying "oh im not a tool for ratings,i help sick kids" she is fake just like the people who watch her.

  • wow your complete douchebag seriously, people that watch oprah are fake? you just dissed millions and millions of viewers, who the fuck do you think you are?and oprah is insecure?, HA! YOUR the one that sounds insecure

  • Comment removed

  • you was just watching her, so you called yourself fake....how stupid!

  • so whatever person i watch on youtube i automatically cant criticize because im watching that person. so according to your logic i couldnt even criticize lets say.... osama bin laden if i was watching one of his videos?

  • Your not very bright are you? why would you go to a video of someone just to insult them? looks to me someone needs THEROPY! bc if insulty people for no reason makes you feel good about yourself thats pathetic...grow up and mature. i was being nice to you the first time. thanx k.

  • I guess im not bright when i point out the contradictions in your previous statement right? i guess that makes me an idiot who needs THEROPY! i came to this video because i was interested in oprah being interviewed by letterman. Just as you were, your previous statement was very confusing and contradictory. So of course i had to respond to someone as clearly retarded as you. You know whats pathetic, a person who spells therapy THEROPY

  • hmm your annoying, your pathetic and your comments make you look like a nerd. Obviously you have no life...so leave me alone im not replying to anymore of your comments, fuck off, oh and have a nice day. Thanx. Loser.

  • you are obviously pathetic. go die

  • Her feet must have been aching, walking that fast in heels that distance....that was truly one of Lettermen's most memorable moments...

  • What country really benefits from the chaos from these African countries?

  • Great job by Dave.

  • I love Oprah....

  • who is helping india?

  • India is helping India, slowly but surely.

  • this was a great interview

  • she's unlikeanyotherhuman

  • aite

  • People's "worth" stretches beyond money

  • Oprah's a freemason?

  • i guess oprah could donate all her wealth except 5 million dollars to african charities. i realize it will be tough for her to get by on that, but atleast then she will only partly be talking out of her ass.

  • classic

  • "...because you're a second-class citizen if you're a girl [in Africa]". Okay, I love how the ultra-NAACP's tout African values as being so morally superior to those of the United States, the western world, "the white devil governments", yet she just admitted the reality of the situation: African values are oppressive, antiquated, and barbaric- ESPECIALLY the beloved islamic African values, adopted by Louis Farakhan and other race-war politicians of the NAACP.

  • Wherever western values go, they bring human dignity, education, and sanity with them. Does she not realize she's "forcing" her western values on Africa, no less than Bush is "forcing" them on Iraq? The only difference is Bush is kicking the ass of antiquated muslim values systems, and Oprah's just putting a band-aid on what is really a gaping wound.

  • Face facts: whenever islamic law is kicked out of governments, out goes suffering, oppression, and genocide with it. Good riddance.

  • incredible simplistice view. its not about islamic law being kicked out of goverment, its about religion being kept out of government. people have a right to their own faith in whatever country they live. just cause someone may be an idiot in the name of islam, doesnt make it justifiable to be an idiot in the name of any other religion.

  • Africa suffers modern-day by liberal idealists trying to embalm their own communism, environmentalist earth worship, islam, and antiquated values instead them die. When they effectively banned DDT because they thought the west was forcing an American values system on them, that was hostile to nature, malaria deaths jumped from thousands to the multi-millions. They thought they were defending people who were "closer to mother earth" than us from encroachment. Millions died. Let me continue.

  • Oprah's done a very good thing building this school, I think people should stop begrudging her decadence in the school (as if YOU deserve luxury, but no one in Africa should have luxury) but the problem I have is this: she chose a part of Africa that is relatively safe, and not the parts where women are suffering the most- like the Sudan. I wouldn't complain about this, except for the fact that she defends Islam in Africa, blames the U.S. for all the problems of the world, and is too chicken...

  • ... to build in the parts where Islamic governments allow the enslavement and rape of children- both boys and girls- forced clitorectomies, the utterly hypocritical execution of rape victims, the beating of wives, executions of suspected homosexuals and teenage fornicators, or even those who merely INTEND to fornicate. She supports assholes like Farrakhan, who are too ignorant to see the big picture that many of these countries were Christian LONG before they were Muslim, and some even before...

  • ... England and many white nations were, African nations that were forced under threat of death to convert to Islam. She'd never have the guts to go there, and I wouldn't judge her choice of doing it in a safer country, if it weren't for the fact she defends the very people who are ravaging African women the most. She defends the environmentalists who force Africans to stay in the stone age and die, out of some ridiculous romanticism about being "more in touch with nature"...

  • I do, in effect, agree with your statement about separation of church and state, but I would submit to you that Christianity is not inherently prone to government control- not in the way Islam is. Jesus said His kingdom is not of this world, and to obey governing authorites, he said "let him who does evil continue to do evil; let him who does righteousness continue to do righteousness until I return" in the last book of the Bible, this informs (or should) an inherently unobtrusive outlook on...

  • ... politics for Christians, and the command to take over the governments of the world is not there for us, as it is for Muslims. I'm sorry this sounds so harsh, but then again I'm not: the truth hurts, and I'm only the messenger. She's trying to reattach the decapitated head of Africa with a tiny little band-aid. The SOURCE of the problems modern-day is Islam. In the Sudan black little boys and girls are kidnapped, enslaved, and raped by Arab Muslims, and if they don't submit to the rape...

  • ... the fever of catholic hypocrisy finally broke in the last couple hundred years, and Christianity has been healing. However, the cancer in Islam runs so deep as to be inoperable. They are COMMANDED to take over the world. They are COMMANDED to pass Sharia law and execute non-believers. These are their fundamental beliefs, and the moderates are the true radicals- good for them. But peace and a loose grip on this world are the fundamentals of Christianity, while the Crusades, the Inquisition...

  • ...the slaughtering of Indians in Manifest Destiny are OUR radical aberrations from the original texts of our New Testament. We don't want to institute old testament law, and hell, when was the last time you saw a Jew trying to truly implement the whole old testament law. You're willfully ignorant saying: "Your old testament says to kill people, so you're no different". He who lives by the sword dies by the sword, love your enemies, the law is summed up in this: love your neighbor as yourself...

  • ... in Christ there is neither Jew nor gentile, male nor female, the law brought death, but the spirit gives life. All of these are quotes from the Christian new testament. I would also submit to you that the Roman government took over Christianity once they realized it was spreading too fast, they molded in their own antisemitic, murderous, aberrant religion, which liberal scholars call Christianity, but those of us who've read the Bible call ROman Catholicism...

  • "people have a right to their own faith in whatever country they live." Exactly my point! Exactly why Islam should be kept to private life and not government! Who's talking about taking away anyone's right to be Muslim? Are you talking to me, or did I miss something?

  • I love both of them. They're each great in their own unique way.

  • This is such a great idea! And I so believe that education is freedom!

  • thats amazing what Oprah's doing for those girls.

  • Newsflash!!! That school was rocked with abuse and corruption. This is years old.

  • Of course Oprah corrected that situation the minute she heard about it and gave the girls a direct number to her cell phone in order to contact her with. Of course it was very disheartening for all of us to hear the things that happened but she didn't stand for it. Especially after what happened to her as a kid.

  • You think that the environment there had completely turned around after removing one person? Or that oprah actually gave hundreds of little girls her personal number? What you are citing are talking points from a press release.

Her school is like any other school. They all have problems. Hers isn't magical, and all the kids do not have her number. I promise. Could they even actually afford to call her if they wanted to?

  • the fact is she is trying to do something.

    what are we doing?

  • I'm 3rd year med student and work with the Make a Wish Foundation. Other than that the only thing I can do is vote blue this election.

  • Yay! I loved this!

  • giggity giggity
