  • Marcus I agree with absolutely EVERYTHING you say!

  • I'd watch more football if there was a "Just the Game" button.

90 mins of football. No pundits. No bullshitters.

  • I'm a huge Liverpool fan but Marcus Brigstocke has excellent wit and some of his reasoning here is unassailable.

  • "Who r ye" Is the most cringworthy chant EVER

  • Football into Room 101 - brilliant!!! Labotamize the lot of them....ooops they already are!

  • Millwall, Millwall

    You're all really dreadful

And all your girlfriends are unfulfilled

    And alienated.

  • @ardiar2011 you, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

  • Alright, if we're talking about overpaid people, then lets get rid of musicians as well shall we? Lets shut down all record labels. And while we're at it we should abolish government. They're all overpaid too.

    Get a grip people.

  • Football is a national nuisance and I'm glad Marcus is taking a stand against it. It's overpriced in terms of wages and "buying" players, as this money can be better used elsewhere.

And the fans...people get way too emotional over it. It's just a game; that's all it is and all it ever will be! Fifty thousand "referees" telling news reporters how it should be done? sounds like a cure for insomnia :-p

  • @ukpet Agreed with the emotion of it all. Especially from Man United fans. If I kicked up a fuss every time Walsall lost most of the West Midlands would be on fire by now.

  • DANNYFOX06 UR MOM IS A SHIT ACCEPT IT

  • fuck you youre shit if it was shit it wouldn't be the most popular sport in the world bumb ass smart ass retard.

  • spot on marcus, making jobs for the boys, talking the same drivel for the last 30 years, football is shit,!

  • I always blamed chav kids for burning down our school's goal posts. Guess it must've been Brigstocke listening to his inner fat kid.

  • @adrianchivas2014 you are literally hilarious...he should "suck your thing" should he?! That is how you will "make him pay"? Ahahahaaaa!

  • @treytoshable thats not him doing tot ups

  • marcus hates it and he can stil do keepy uppeys. you all complain about nothing

  • @adrianchivas2014 lolumad

  • @adrianchivas2014 lol. football is shit. accept it.

  • @adrianchivas2014 Overpaid idiotic gits kinda fits the description of many footballers and Brigstocke is spot on and brilliant

  • square head

  • rugby is a shit

  • football rocks haters not

  • Football is shite.

I kept getting asked in school which team I supported.

    Team? Support?

Who gives a shit? They're all overpaid, overrated, glorified assholes anyway.

  • @camisadokiller666 im kind of on the same lines as yourself, i however do like football and support a team however i do belelve that footballers themselves are overpaid pricks who care about what there hairstyle is like and their public image so in all i like football but hate footballers

  • @camisadokiller666 Like most music "artists" of today then

  • @camisadokiller666 shut it

  • @camisadokiller666 Why can I only like this comment once?!

  • fuck u niggers

  • suck m dick assholes

  • A thousand times yes. I fucking hate football. All you idiots just shut the fuck up about your favorite team playing some other equally irrelevant team and winning, losing, or drawing thanks to the efforts of your most or least favorite faceless, overpaid, ball-kicking neanderthals.

  • That so wasn't him!

  • @SilverSiana Well done. You must be very proud you spotted that.

  • @Brezhna Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, my friend.

  • @SilverSiana highest form of intelligence.

  • @SilverSiana no anything you read in the newspaper is the lowest.

  • I like football

  • @duracell777 .......me too

  • fucking football, it goes on forever then gets plastered over every for of media as if its actually relevant and not just boring pick a side and shout 'we're better than you' bollocks. and the hype, oh god the fucking hype, im looking at you sky sports.

  • on the subject of sports chants:

i liked the english chants to the aussies at the ashes, ie.

    get yer shit stars

    get yer shit stars

get yer shit stars off our flag

  • Only women & faggots.....etc, etc, etc.....

    Personally, i hate ppl who don't like/play sport's....horrible, passive-aggressive, lazy, self-obsessed layabouts...all of them virtually....cannot understand them.....failed human beings IMO....

  • (cont)

    "all of them virtually"

correction, not all of them...but most of them for sure...

  • @supahdupahguy81

That's quite a coincidence as I can't stand the universal labelling types who accuse "ppl" who dislike sports of being of a lower character of human being than themselves.

The fact that some of us don't like sports will not make us any less competent in life than somebody who enjoys sports, but they'll will be above those who are so narrow mindedly fanatical about sports that they can't see beyond their own interests.

If you don't understand them, fine.No need to be immature

  • @ukpet

It's not a question of them being of a "lower character"...that's obviously subjective...it's just that i personally can't understand them...in my experience they more often than not, seem to accurately conform to the stereotype that i layed out...i'll add pretentious to that list as well..

"The fact that some of us don't like sports will not make us any less competent in life than somebody who enjoys sports,"

Strongly disagree TBH....it's does athletically & arguably mentally too...

  • when he was doin the football skills what actually happned on stage?

  • It's the closest to an art form sport can get... it's vibrant and passionate. It involves almost every athletic skill there is (speed, agility, strength, stamina, skill, teamwork, imagination, awareness etc etc), it bonds the entire world, you can have a pampered millionaire from England playing against an African teenager brought up in a shanty town in Africa tete a tete in the World Cup as equals.

The Beautiful Game. I love football, but have nothing against those who don't like it.

  • @ukulazy "bonds the entire world"? more like "bonds individual groups of people, then makes them defend their position so fervently and chauvinistically that they resort to apish violence and ridicule"

  • @Flophole Believe it or not, not every football fan is a thug. And yes, it bonds the world: in a week the World Cup will be played; the most popular international event in the world. Don't worry, certain art forms aren't appreciated by everyone.

  • @ukulazy I didn't say every football fan is a thug - most aren't. The truth is, though, that lots of football fans take it too far which results in riots. Just because the majority are well behaved doesn't mean that the problem doesn't still exist. Also, it doesn't bond the entire world. In a week, patriotism will increase, and with it, racism.

  • @Flophole I also hate the small minority of thugs in football... and it does bond the world! There may be rivalries, but they actually have very little to do with football. eg: England v Argentina & North Korea v South Korea & Germany v Holland. And personally, although I do feel slightly patriotic (once every 2 years), I also get much more interested in countries and cultures I know little about. Well, we've taken over the comment section, so agree to disagree? =)

  • @ukulazy I'll admit that the negativity is usually out-shined by the positivity in football - agree to disagree it is :)

  • @ukulazy

you didn't watch the actual sport this afternoon then. Wales v Boks - doesn't really stand up to comparison with the Oscar wannabies who can't string a coherent sentence together but get a slight tap on the leg and roll around on the floor crying their millionaire eyes out ...

@Vault101Reject - you seem to be mentioning a sport ahd NFL in the same paragraph. Next you'll be saying the basketball world series actually features the world .......

  • @billse10 You're right, it really isn't worth comparing to football. Pick up ball; run forward straight into someone without using a single brain cell; stop game; homoerotic scrum; stop game - repeat ad nauseum. Like I said, not everyone can appreciate it as an art form. Don't beat yourself up. Just stick your hand up a Samoan crack hole and I'm sure you'll perk up.

  • @ukulazy - don't mention crack in the same paragraph as footballers. (Or their fathers, come to think of it)

You're right, it is an art. Merely falling over and feigning injury would be boring, it's got to be an artistic thing to justify all that rolling around cos someone looked at you the wrong way. Run, kick, run. Just stick your hand in the path of the ball and I'm sure you'll perk up. Unless you are Irish and the hand is Thierry Henry's.

  • @billse10 1) The fact you are resorting to comparing cheating in football (which is irritating) to the actual SPORT of rugby (painfully dull) means I win this argument.

    2) Crack? I hate J.Terry and his father, so why do you think that's going to offend me? Are you actually saying that drug taking doesn't exist in rugby? Idiot...

    3) What about that twat who used a blood sachet on his face? I believe that falls under 'feigning injury' =)

    4) I'm not Thierry Henry! & I hate cheating in football!

  • @ukulazy

Thanks for resorting to personal abuse rather than comment re; "idiot", and assuming I was trying to offend _you_ ?)

OK, I admit the crack reference was a cheap shot ..

Unlike the blood sachet incident, the rolling around on the floor cos someone came too close seems to happen in every single game. "Oh dear, someone ran in to me" = "so what?" in most sports, but apparently not in sports that lose any claim to be sports because of stupid £ millions involved.

  • @billse10 I did 'comment'. And what annoys me is the fact that my original comment, which you responded to, was neither controversial nor inflammatory. I said "I don't mind when other people don't like football". But you decided to troll anyway... I don't care if you like football, but you criticised the artistic quality of the sport, whilst comparing it to RUGBY. That is ridiculous. And what has money got to do with anything? A painting by van gogh costs millions, does that mean it isn't art?

  • American Football.

A load of pansies who need to wear body armour and think they're tough.

    English Rugby.

The players lose ears, teeth, get smacked around, break bones, bleed and KEEP GOING.

  • Come on Cameron, win the election

  • I love football but even I get sick of how it's so inescapable so I can't imagine how it must feel to hate it when it's absolutely everywhere and there's no way of avoiding it.

  • I'm a working class, rich, hero, and you are all commie posh boy wankers. Tough titties

  • @sexpistolarchive 'Posh boy wankers' are mainly right wingers, and working-class oafs are normally left wingers. Get it right.

  • @dezboss NO WAY!!! Middle class people are commie lefties. Card carrying Marxists the lot of them. I'm from a poor background and built my way up to where I am now with my own company, and I hated being poor. Stop taxing the rich who are a success and pore scorn on those who can not be bothered to work.

  • @sexpistolarchive ... and what is your great profession ? oh and are u a genius lower class "hard" worker or an upper class twat with an above average IQ ? Its his opinion you idiot . we all have opinions . and the right to voice ours . as u just have . i like football . and im man enough to accept that Brigstocke doesnt .

  • @sexpistolarchive thats a bit of an oxymoron.

  • @ayellowbeanofdeath Commies love high taxes and hate people bettering themselves

  • @sexpistolarchive you're an idiot

  • @BollWeevil1 Long legged mack-daddy

  • @sexpistolarchive

Oh god you're so pathetic it's almost funny.

  • @sexpistolarchive

You just assumed that you knew everything about him, threw some mindless insults, made faulse judgements and displayed your own stupidity.

    1) Brigstocke doesn't hate working class people, he has never said, it's something you've made up out of thin air, the reason he does hate football is explained in this video.

    2) A " communist wanker"? those are just petty insults, he Marcus is the smple minded one?

    3) Comedians have to do ALOT and ALOT of work to earn money.

  • @sexpistolarchive "people who actually earn money" ? "middle class communist wanker" ? take a look around u mate we're not in the 30's anymore the self made man and american dream and stuff like that are long gone

  • lolol. I was in the studio audience for this one and he may have cheated just a tiny wee little bit...

  • yeah he looked like he was cheating but how? thought he said he hated magic well that looked like madgic to me

  • Ummm..... Unless he can do his jacket up very very quickly i dont think he is that good.

  • Lol your an idiot. Then again all Catholics are.

  • He looks like Kevin Moore

  • loved the robbie williams bit..cause he is shit :3

  • footballs the andrex sport

    Soft and unreasnably exspensive :L

    x

  • Very true. Thank you.

  • I love football, but Marcus is spot on with some of his comments

  • Thats right football sucks ass!

  • Regarding the name 'football' it certainly fits the game that was put into Room 101 better, considering American football consists primarily of holding and throwing the ball.

For the record I'm from the UK, and hate the sport he put in.

  • it wasn't him, i thats what made it funny...

  • football is inherently uncreative. no matter how 'creative' a central midfielder may be, they are only ever trying to put the ball in the net more than the opponents. im a massive rugby fan but i wouldnt say attacking players are creative people generally

  • football is just grown men in shorts and long socks chasing a ball.. only children should wear long socks and shorts =/

as a sport, footballs fine, go have a kick around if it entertains you, but as a profession? where is the fun in watching people do something you could be doing?!

it is quite a testiment to capitalism though, children starve whilst the bigger players recieve ludicrous incomes...

  • Lol....i do like football but very true : )...they are basically chasing around a dead cow formed into a sphere....then trying to kick it into a large fishing net

  • @ stonesour2124, course he didn't lol. Though they were some decent skills :P

  • Bah! saying you dont like football where i live normally resulsts in as mentioned, you being a rugby man, so no-one messes with ya :p

  • Goalpost on fire reminds me of that old film Rollerball.

  • ha it so true when he says about the footbal being inescapeable, never ending. It reminds me of a sketch mitchell on webb look, the sky sports one .

  • God I fuckin hate football as well. It's not the sport itself, and it is a sport, it's the fact that you have to like it and you have to listen to other people talking about it otherwise you get called a bender. On any other subject it's perfectly acceptable to tell people that they're being completely fucking boring but for some reason football gets special treatment

  • It's true. I like football well enough as a game but fans put me right off. If someone whittered on about the Tour de France the way people go on about one not-particularly-important match you'd either walk away or punch them in the face. Football fans get a free pass to be boorish gits

  • Yeh totally. I always wonder what people could achieve if they exerted the emotion that they put into things like football, into something creative. You know, like how amazing the world would be if that many people gave a shit about something that was worth giving a shit about.

  • love 'em both give me Stratford and give me Wembley and ill enjoy both

neither is inferior, but you are to me

  • @droppedyursoap I'm guessing that you're from the UK, if so, I would happily trade places with you. Here in the USA, it's the exact same, but with truly crap sports like American Football and College basketball. But then, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the pond.

  • @italiaholic

I'd gladly give it a shot but I think the novelty would probably last about ten seconds and then we'd just have more sports that we fucking hated

  • @droppedyursoap

To be fair, your name is droppedyursoap, so the bender remarks are a given :P

  • @droppedyursoap

    Bender.

  • @droppedyursoap

You don't think there may have been another reason why you were called a bender??

    (clue : your username...)

    o_O

  • @droppedyursoap So actually you hate British male culture not football.

  • Comment removed

  • passion, blah

  • Where the fuck did you drop from?

Football was barely like that in the eighties, today it's a more civil sport, probably even too civil

  • I apologise for my ignorant words thumbs up for you

  • I reciprocate your generousity.

  • Hehe, nice skills. Although I'm assuming it wasn't Marcus Brigstocke because the shot is just of a pair of legs.

  • Hmm, yeah. I'm guessing it wasn't him

  • unless his jacket did itself up, then no

  • I served Martin O'Neill a pint, he's a guinness drinker, and I put a shamrock in the foam for him!

  • Couldn't agree more

  • Pour moi, n'est pa?

    if so, er cheers.

    =]

  • Not a big fan of football, but each 2 their own - my biggest desire would be 2 rid the culture of the excess crud that we have to put up with BECAUSE of the obsession with football - and if ur not a fan, it still ends up on the telly all the time, so u don't have much choice even with 400 channels (also mostly poop - cheers Murdock - v=n1aZcsY-O8Q)

It's is nice to see another Englishmen, who isn't compelled 2 conform 2 stereotype of being a bloke - I'm a bloke, I just don't like footie!

  • Am I the only one to realise that HE WASN'T ACTUALLY PLAYING THE BALL

  • nope - but I think we're out numbered!

  • Haha, never mind. You and me together, Rev.

  • Lol

    Ah, bless your little cottons.

Well Joe, you make sure you "Keep 'em peeled", as Shaw Taylor used to say on Police 5, and I'll man the guns then!

    Cheers

    The Rev.

  • bloody hell, hes actually not bad with the ball

  • RAGE! Marcus, you had the opportunity of a lifetime to rape the name of soccer, and you ended up playing it! What the hell!? You should have bursted that ball, and sent it into Room 101, yourself.

  • fuck off, soccer..... , its called football for fuck sake

  • it's pretty much only called soccer by americans who dont want to admit that there's another sport which is more appropriately named football. almost noone calls it soccer outside america

  • Indeed. Outside of he USA, only those determined to be correct refer to it as soccer. It doesn't really matter, though. Anything to do with soccer is quite inconsequential.

  • what you refer to as soccer and i refer to as football is a boring as hell sport. i hope we can agree on that.

  • Yes. We can certainly agree on that.

  • whether or not you like football, you have to admit that people take it far too fucking seriously. the rivalries are ridiculous, and people talk about their teams achievments as if its their own

  • i totally agree with marcus brigstocke everything he said is everything i think about football, its everywhere it really is in-escapable, i dont so much hate football just people who really really like it.

  • It annoys me that people that don't appreciate exercise often pick on football because it's the sport they're most exposed to but that because IT'S THE BEST SPORT and that's the nations opinion (democratically speaking i.e. if we had a vote football WOULD WIN)

Having said that Brigstocke IS law so i now also hate football which is annoying cz i had tickets for next weekend.

  • Just because something is popular does not mean it is the best....is Britney Spears the best singer of our generation?

  • I don't hate football I just hate that every guy thinks every other guy must love football.

  • lol i dont like football which is a shame cause most of my mates love it!

  • i dont have a problem with football but when its continuously shoved down your throat via the media i get annoyed.

    /watch?v=VF_uOgyBK1c

  • I just don't understand football. - Grown men running after a ball and when they finally catch it; They kick it away!

  • yes. towards the goal, then they shoot, if they score, then good for them. If you don't like football then fair enough, but don't go saying you don't understand it. you do. Its the basics of any other ball sport, and then the extra bits. And it isnt just grown men. When i was younger, i spent ages playing with my mates, and were we trying to achieve anything? no. we were just enjoying ourselves.

  • i don't understand why, well at my school at least you get called gay for not watching when really all it is, is men in shorts chasing after eachother

  • 'I quite liked rugby, but I prefer to be indoors.'

  • I don't hate football, more the culture of being a complete drunken fool that goes with being a football hooligan. The game itself is fine.

Same with golf. Good sport, just full arrogant people who forbid trainers in certain parts of their club house. Heaven Forbid!

  • i fuckin hate footbollocks too...

bunch of pussies runnin round and who spend more time clutchin their fuckin legs arms etc than johhny wilkinson... whenever i hear the words "ooh football is a tougher sport than rugby" i just reply with "only if youre playin with zidane..."

  • Did anyone have a sense of pride or happiness when that goal post was burnt down

  • Oh yes because football sucks. Its rare for a man to say that they don't like football but Marcus is brilliant!

  • I agree with what you two AND Marcus Brigstocke said.

    x

  • Wow I love him 5 times more now!!!

down with football american and other wise

  • Im ever so sorry

  • Then you must also admit that everybody dislikes different things, and this show is all about that. Perhaps you should try thinking about your comments before jumping in with the RETARD comments.

  • Dude, i agree. Not about Marucs being a retard, but that people who say you are an idiot because you like football is pathetic. People like different things and my opinion is; You don't like football, your problem so stop having-a-go at people who do

  • I totally agree, football's for wankers
