I think manners are a thing of the past , why is it called propaganda about this film? Today children are being told WHAT THEY can eat at Mcdonalds in some California restaurants , or they dont get a toy .............now that is Propaganda!!lol
This is very nice and all showing young children how to behave in a lunch room now in 2010 excuse me 2011 its get in get your shit sit down hope no one steals it eat your shit get back to class
Phil claps like a spaz! Dam Phil go easy on the soap! I think Phil's daddy got around cause all the boys look the same. That lunch looks nasty! Freddie looks like he is gagging his food down! Freddie HATES his lunch! Phil like likes Freddie! Phile didn't eat all his food he left some green beans! Phil is a giant pussy!
I can't help but notice that everyone here is white, and at least the boys being shown are blond, and have the same haircuts. It reminds me of the Hitler Youth. And that's ironic because this is utter propaganda :)
@TheLonelyImmortal Yeah, pretty weird. I noticed that too the first time I saw this. And I have been toying around with the idea of overdubbing this a la Mystery Science theatre 3000, but I never know what to say during these things, so I feel it wouldn't be funny- the humor here is naturally inadvertent as it is. Someone else has already dubbed this on youtube I believe.
Who combs their hair before lunch? Holy crap that's a lot of soap. And that one girl with the sailor dress: I want that. Children must never forget: Do as you are told, do the opposite of a creepy puppet that somehow reminds me of a pedophile.
its funny how we can look back on videos like this and laugh, the soap part killed me and the part when the kid made up his hair and i'm sure we all learned one important lesson.. that mr. bungle is a real dick.
manners are nothing more than a dogma. most of them are unsupported rules invented by people who needed a set of behaviors to distinguish them from who they considered inferior. blindly followed by everyone. the sad thing is that since everyone is taught to irrationally dislike and be annoyed by people who don't conform to them, everyone ends up following them in order not to bother anyone. its a vicious circle. i am not talking about hygiene, that's a completely different and pragmatic thing
@julioenriquej discipline and structure are inherent for a child's sense of security. School alone would not be responsible alone for this type of behavior and manners. I am certain that parents would have put the "fear of the Lord" into them--- spare the rod spoil the child.
These days you don't have time for all this hoo-doo! You barely have time to get to the cafeteria and eat with your dirty hands-if there is any food left!
if it's on here(youtube) when i was only 4 years old, this was a skit (clip) on the very first original pee wee herman playhouse, stand-up on HBO. It was all adult humor, but I still loved it, and as I grew up (and the child version came out) I got old enough to understand the adult humor. I feel everyone should find it if possible.
ah, these were the days. As one user said, we are raising generation after generation of Mr. Bungles. Back when kids actually had respect for their elders. Nowadays, kids are controlled by iPods, fucking rap music, and the glorification of broken families. I guess I'm "uncool" because I actually have respect for my elders.
It's just so sad to me that there isn't any time set into the school day for playing, and for learning manners or for anything like there was back in the day. They should show these old films beats spongebob andall that other shite they cram down our kids these days.
And who exactly is meant to show manners? Nobody has them anymore. TV? Hah all toilet humor, which is funny, in short bits but but when this is just about everything the TV shows, especially stuff like Nick and Disney ect, well? God help us. What if the kids come from a household where manners aren't shown? Like my step kids, their mom's household doesn't seem to have manners or respectfulness or any sort of good values. They get that here but we only see them so much. :-(
O my god. They hit the ground running right out of kindergarden? I am sad. :-( kids don't get to be kids anymore. I've 2 of my own, 2 years old and five months old and I'm just sad that they'll have to cram their whole childhood into their preschool years. This is partly why our kids are effed up, forced to grow up too fast.
That bitch working the milk counter shouldnt let the milk run out. That was rude of her and she wasnt doing her job. Waiting to be asked to stock the milk. We watched stuff like this in the early to mid 70s. Kids today could stand to watch and heed these old films despite the naivity.
I thought the same thing. Why aren't kids shown things like this in school any longer? For the past several generations, children are growing up without being taught manners and are very self centered.
They are taught manners. There just isnt a seperate time period set aside for it. It's nearly impossible to get in what you need to get in during the day. The manners thing comes by modeling the correct behavior to the kids
Corny, yes, but are we now raising generation after generation of Mr. Bungles? Maybe something like this would actually be good for children today. How do we expect children to know how to behave without ever teaching them?
I'm a teacher and we don't have time to teach these manners to kids above kindergarten. Kids nowadays hit the ground running at the end of kindergarten

manners are nothing more than a dogma. most of them are unsupported rules invented by people who needed a set of behaviors to distinguish them from who they considered inferior. blindly followed by everyone. the sad thing is that since everyone is taught to irrationally dislike and be annoyed by people who don't conform to them, everyone ends up following them in order not to bother anyone. its a vicious circle. i am not talking about hygiene, that's a completely different and pragmatic thing

@julioenriquej discipline and structure are inherent for a child's sense of security. School alone would not be responsible alone for this type of behavior and manners. I am certain that parents would have put the "fear of the Lord" into them--- spare the rod spoil the child.
