The people of the 5th district made a mistake on voting out Congressman Goode. This ad is so misleading, what they are not telling you is that Income and capital ganes tax would be done away with. Goode was telling it like it was and I guess the people thought it was hell.

It's funny how Tom railed against lobbyist during the campaign, and now has L.F. Payne as his transition director. Payne, the former congressman from the 5th District, is now a lobbyist. He lobbies for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Freddie Mac, but primarily for Smithfield Foods. Tom was an intern to Payne, and learned the game well. This is why he felt the need to misrepresent the Fair Tax. Got to keep his mentor earning big bucks tweaking the tax code, and immigration policy for special interest!

Funny how this is "misleading" to Goode supporters... I feel sorry for them. Is the one of Perriello's face darkened as misleading, or the fact that he is a "New York lawyer?" He is NOT a New York lawyer, and Goode is running ads trying to SCARE us Repubicans. I'm not buying it....

You know, I do not like the way this campaign has been run, but here are the facts. The South Side of the 5th District has been in a 16 year recession. We have lost jobs under Clinton, Bush, Allen, Gilmore, Warner, and only getting worse under Kaine. It's time to think outside the box, and come up with real solutions. It's time for a tax system that rewards productivity, and helps our businesses and workers become more competitive in a global economy. The Fair Tax does this.

How ridiculous this is. Anyone who knows ANYTHING about the FairTax knows that all other taxes would be taken away, including income taxes. And as for the Gasoline being 23% more expensive, first you have to remember to take off the taxes already on the gasoline. I'm from his district and I've sent him a letter letting him know how disappointed I am of him and his misleading adds. We'll see what kind of response he can send back.

I emailed Tom Perriello's campaign regarding this misleading ad. They responded quickly, but were unable to back up their position. I have studied the Fair Tax and done the math. My family would benefit greatly if the Fair Tax replaced the current Federal income tax. I encourage everyone to research this on their own. Don't believe the "spin" of politicians. Verify the facts and come to your own conclusions.

This shows how ignorant supporters of Perriello are... politically intelligent citizens know that Goode supports H.R. 25 concerning the Fair Tax Doctrine. Yes, this involves a 23% national sales tax BUT ELIMINATES INCOME TAX. It also involves a rebate handed out monthly for "living expenses." In essence, it eliminates the effect of national sales tax on those that wouldn't pay income taxes anyways. READ, PEOPLE... this is MISLEADING ADVERTISING

This nonsense has to stop! The Fair Tax replaces the Income, Capital Gains,Estate, Corporate, Payroll, Medicare, and Social Security tax with on single 23% consumption tax. Our current tax code is over 60,000 pages long, and it cost Americans 350 billion dollars annually to comply with it! 90% of all lobbyist in Washington are there to lobby the tax code. I encourage every to research the Fair Tax, and see the economic benefits. I see it as a way for a true REVIVAL of the Southside 5th District.
