If anyone has seen 2001: A Space Odyssey then they know that it's the opening theme and also HAL 9000 = Auto. Yeah, you guys know it, we all know it, if you don't go see it and find out and while you're at it ask about Stanley Kubrick and all of his movies please, thank you :)
Captain Badass pulls out another crowning moment of awesome, ladies and gentlemen. Next to his line when he declares they are going home TODAY, this has got to be my favourite moment of the movie. It really symbolises humanity comming of age when that bloated waste of sapce stands on his own two feet and strikes out in the name of mankind, including throwing in a cool one-liner as he finishes off the big bad.
As for the comments about the song that's played when the captain is standing up:::: It's really funny! They used a 2001 song when it's supposed to be like 2775! LOL That's one of those funny little things that make WALL-E my favorite movie and one of the best pixar movies. :)
This clip represents the everlasting superiority Humans have over machines. No matter how big, powerful, and advanced machines get, humans will always be their masters.
@SaltonSeaCoolio Ahahahaha. Ah-.. Let's look at reality. Who would have /really/ ended in a victory had this not have been a childrens animation? Morbidally obese individuals who exercise standing up maybe five minutes a month, or the mechanical machines?
The captain must have been the first Human to actually walk on his power in centuries

@TundraMac It's "Sonnenaufgang"out of "Also sprach Zarathustra" from Richard Strauss
dennisapaydin 1 year ago
@TundraMac : proper title of the song is "thus spake zarathustra"
it's actually extremely appropriate here, given how many parallels there are between Auto and HAL
