  • Ur so hot! I was Captivated by your beautiful voice and appearance.

  • Try TMS by Neorostar. No side effects. Of course, you must be rich to get it.

  • U need some good sex, will make u feel good.

  • You're very delightful. I also have had difficulty with mental illness in the past. From personal experience I would recommend high daily doses of DHA_PHA supplements as well as well as vitamin D3 5000IU daily. I'm just leaning bout a passive electronic therapy devices called "The Bio Tuner by SOTA.." I would highly recommended that you investigate the history of this amazing technology. Worm hugs and affection.

  • I thought you were 'desperate' to have it...a 'life or death' situation which called for ECT. Im just suprised at your seeming utter shock (pun not intended!) at the procedure and the after effects.

  • you are very good looking !

  • Your hair looks fine. I hope you are doing well now.

  • The pshrinks do that to catatonics?

    ??????

    Really?????

    REALLY????

    Oh God.

  • you should get into modelling. wow. stunning.

  • maybe ect works for some people because of placebo. just a thought.

  • You look beautiful in this video.

  • spend a day with me walking along some beach, let's have a good conversation and you'll have a new source of happiness.

  • Psychiatry is a government population-control device, nothing more. Apart from a few stooges or suspect testimony (i feel great-i am on prozac!) the have been no cures since its inception in the 1870's. Psyches receive $billions anually to keep populations suppressed. thats the top and bottom of it!

  • LOL it's good to read how well-informed you are

LORDGODSIRALEXFERGIE. Please carry on sucking you tumb and dream away, please don't type your little dreams you have in here :)

  • I would love to have an intellectual discussion with you as you appear so articulate. we could maybe exchange considerations on theosophy, theology, the role of .....WOW, she is cute...... oh, sorry - where were we? oh yes, the ecumenical role of the modern church as it attemts to influen...... oh! you have fallen asleep! never mind.

  • You would do well to do research before trying to appear clever, and leaving embarrasing ( to you) comments, and end end up looking a cunt - like now! everything in my comment can be verified by research.

  • LOL thanks for the well formulated text you put in my account ;) I guess you have tried ECT several times to comment like you do... keep it up, and pray that the government do NOT put something in your puny little head LOL....

Seen any UFO's lately LOL LOL

  • lol lol lol lol you started it lol lol lol lol lol

  • the whole purpose of ect is to fragment the brain, make the patient more managable and totally dependant on the doctor and thus provide the whole profession with guaranteed work for the rest of their careers.its a scam.every profession has one and needs one to survive

  • Google Doctors Serve As Middleman Pushers

  • I think you're doing a great job. So many people are totally ignorant of ECT. They think elctric shock and think toaster. There's no words to describe the horror of that damned to hell act, our medical profession calls "treatment" Getting hit in the head with a steel bat would have the same result!

    Keep up the good work!

  • did you know that anti-depressants actually cause depression and anxiety and anti-psychotics atually cause psychosis and anxiety.most people say 'well i feel great straight after i take the tablet".yes and so do junkies straight after they shoot up with heroin

  • unless people START SUEING these sociopaths they laughingly call doctors will carry on destroying thousands and thousands of more peoples minds and lifes!

  • yeah...you are

  • ETC is like rolling dice, you cant predict the outcome.

  • I had more than 100 ECT treatments for major clinical depression in nine years . I was often suicidal prior to ECT and while the treatments did not cure my depression, they did remove the suicidal ideations for a few months at a time.

I had my first ECT treatment at age 26; my daughters were 4 and 1. Sadly, I remember little of the early years of their lives. I also lost some of my vocabulary. But, ten years after my last ECT, the vocabulary seems to be returning. The memories have not.

  • liz, i discovered you in, maybe, a nyt article, and have seen many of your vids...i like what you are doing (and have peekd at your blog)...will keep an eye out for you. btw, the lighting, your hair, glasses, lipstick, your eyes, and your skin all have a great day in this video!!

  • Liz, I am probably your mother's age, and I am just sick that I went along with the doctor's and my son's decision to do the ECT treatments. I will never forget watching the experience and everything that followed. Doctors need to be very certain that their patient is the proper candidate for something so serious and potentially damaging as ECT.

By the way, as others are saying, you ARE a beautiful, young woman.

  • You are fun to watch. And very pretty, if i may.

  • Looking hot!!! I love the hair.

  • This is really cool, and really honest. You should be proud of yourself, for making it through something so horrible. Besides your really cute!

  • I have to admit that this woman is beautiful. The hospital needs to pay her bills. Her parents need to be shock treated also so they can feel what their daughter went through.

  • ECT didn't help Earnest Hemmingway. He couldn't put two words together on paper for JFK's Inaugural address.Check my videos for a possible alternative.

  • Dear lspikol

You have a verly lively imagination. You are a beatiful woman.

  • You are such an amazingly strong woman!!!!! And your hair looks beautiful!!! I loved this video, Spikol, it didn't make me faint like the previous one ;) Cheers from Spain!!

  • turn the mobile off . good vid glad i was put on good meds dont think i could go though ect ! scary

  • You are a beautiful, articulate, and charming woman.

P.S. - Your hair looked great.

  • Thanks for telling your story. I underwent ECT for depression and OCD; in general, it did not help. The OCD did not change and the depression did not lift. I was also prescribed zyprexa off-label; that only succeeded in causing weight gain and type II diabetes. It's amazing how the mind works, because my symptons were alleviated by a combination of effexor and mirapex. Mirapex was prescribed off-label because it's actually a Parkinson's drug.

  • Don't trust doctors! We're still too close to the horror stories of experimentation.

Have you read any Adlerian psychology? Fascinating - it merges with Yoga and meditation.

    Good luck

  • A question: How much of your memory is lost?

  • Awesome videos! really entertaining. and you look beautiful on this one. [on other ones too dont take it that way]

  • hey you're great...

    and cute..

interesting stuff! i'll continue to watch..

    :-)

  • I've never heard of ECT being used to treat psychosis. I don't believe that it is used for that unless it is like depressive psychosis, but I'm not sure. And, ECT should only normally be used as a last last resort is the information I've heard. But, I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience. It sounds awful. I'm glad I never had to try ECT. I know the depression is awful too...I've tried suicide before too.

  • intially, ECT's were used to treat schizophrenia; now, it's ability to treat schizophrenia has become obsolete due to advances in medicine, therapy, etc. ECT (as well as vagus nerve stim.) are now used, like you said, to treat major depression and bipolar related depression

  • Wow. You got gorgeous! And, I was just about to comment on a previous video that I loved the nomakeup look. Either way. No, I'm not a lesbian.

Love your vids.. for some reason, the way you talk is hypnotic. And, you are funny, dry, but hilariously so. Keep posting! I had a mother who endured 2 ECTs a day for six months - that was one of the times she was in..

    It's unbelievable.

What do you think about 'skin shock'?

  • Liz, don't listen to the chiders to much. I appreciate you taking your time elaborating your thoughts. The previous ECT video was great, and this is good to.

Being as traumatized as you were by ECT is neither puzzling nor in any way unique. ECT isn't just seizuring; it's seizuring induced by massive (relative to normal brain currents), comprising up to about 500 mC of charge, electric currents coursing through the brain. Those currents damage the brain.

  • My body didn't move under the anesthetic, no diaper. No trauma, just confusion and temporary short term memory loss. Dazed. I think it worked by making me forget I was depressed.

Worth it? Did save my life. But I agree with you, it isn't. There are other ways to treat than ECT, even in those most desperate times.

  • I'm glad it worked for you. Sometimes I wonder if my advocacy for meds contradicts my opposition to ECT. At bottom, I just want people to get well. That's the most important thing.

  • You're depressing my computer. Actually ect is kind of funny- good idea for a jackass stunt.

  • You said you tried everything? Well, Have you tried treating your disorders with hypnotic NLP?

  • NLP is a fraud. Get real!

  • This chick is pretty hot.

  • I agree. Spikol is cute as hell!

  • Thanks for your story..again...Am I mistaking or do you look prettier with every video posted? I think you do! Anyway, what I really would like to hear from you is why the psychotherapies didn't work out foryou! What, I your opinion, were the 'wrongs and the rights' with it? So, maybe after the funny video you'd care to adress this topic?

  • I think you are a strong and courageous woman for telling your story in such a public way. Please pay no attention to those who want a "Cliff's Notes" version. Say what you want and what you feel you need to say without worrying about the time.

  • I hope you know how brave and dear it is of you to share this story with us all. Please take up as much space/time as you need to, you are interesting and compelling and it is a pleasure to listen to your quirky perspective on such a painful period of your life. I look forward to the story of what worked to lift your depression. What worked for me was a bit silly, I can imagine that what worked for you might be light too. And you deserve light.

  • Another wonderful video Liz and don't worry about it not being funny there is a differences when you are informing the people and performing for the people. I subscribed to your videos a month of so ago because you do both. One more thing don't worry about your hair you still look beautiful.

  • Ignore the chiders!

You have a lot of interesting things to say, so take as long as you want saying them.

And no need to appologise for the lack of funny. YouTube isn't just about the juggling monkeys and card tricks, some come here to be informed AND entertained.

  • Thank you for sharing this with us Liz. They perform lateral ECTs at Thomas Jefferson very often. One can only question how informed the patients are before undergoing the procedure. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Please don't truncate your videos due to some snarky suggestion! Make them as long as they need to be. Oh, I have your PW in front of me as we speak. I didn't read it yet.

  • thank you for telling your story of ect. i would like to know how "theraputic" the public telling of this story has been for you. has it been what you expected, etc? better? worse?

    thanks liz!!
