  • Hi fellow kayakers!......... Im looking at dagger kayaks: Agent, Kingpin, Juice, RX....which on is best?

Any advice or suggestions is much appreciated!

    THANKS!

  • @jumper5971 The issue with that is that dagger makes terrible boats... Go for a Jackson, Pyrahna or Liquid Logic

  • @jumper5971 A jackson fun is an amazing boat.

  • great work very good I need to learn to Kayak like that cool surf I can not understand why someone would dislike this video ,,,,they are jealous they can not paddle like a bad ass in turburlant waters!!!

  • These guys were just playing around, right? Because I'm taking white water kayaking lessons this weekend, and the flipping and somersaulting around look a bit freaky for me.

  • i was there today!

  • went through that on white water rafting fun!

  • lightning paddles started in the us and jackson is bringing them back

  • that thing is a bitch to get out of

  • sick. yesterday when i went on the ocoee jesse our guide let us surf the hell hole and we were on the raft. almost flipped over haha

  • trippy looks like hes riding as wave and your following him

  • I saw some old guy in a massive creeker throw a water wheel from the front hole and landed it and started surfing in the main hole. It was SICK

  • that hole looks like heaven... easy swim from what i can see after and looks flushy enough...beautiful paddling!

  • i tried to surf this last summer when i ran the ocoee for the first time. of course, i didn't look anywhere near as good as these paddlers, but maybe someday! :)

  • dude on the board.... fucking hero!!

  • its called a hydralic....was on one in new river....its in VA its the biggest hydralic ever and i thought i was gona die.

  • Siick Just Sick

  • sweet! are there other places at the Ocoee where one can take a surfboard?

I'll be interested on taking my 6'10" next time I visit home and fuck around with it

  • omg

  • It looks so easy to throw a loop in there!

  • am I hallucinating or do you also see a lightning paddle at 1:12? Jackson kayaks brought them on the market This year so I don't believe what I'm seeying, can anyone explain?

  • @Energiserr Probably a prototype, JK is located out there

  • @Energiserr idk looks like it though it might just look the same as a lightning and also have a really nice sticker

  • I tried surfing this in my OC1, but it didn't come out so great.

  • lol at the surf board....

  • So Scarry. I am 53. Just went down the Ocoee on a RAFT with my husband.. thought we were going to DIE/ hoped we had enough life insurance. had an awesome time.. but if I was young.... I would do this... My brother is dying of cancer... he wishes he could have done more... Live life to the fullest.. Love this video.. go fer it...

  • Your absolutely right you don't see that everyday and I live right near there.

  • :DDD grat video and the end is singular :D but .. where is that river ?

  • Sweet video man.

  • props to the surfboarder. but he shd have a pfd on. :)

  • cool video man it's really good !!!! 8D

  • Very Cool!

  • its a hell hole if u aren't a expert kayakr... ...or don't have the right eqpmt.

    who created the audio ??

  • audio is generic from youtube, I had to replace original track because of copyrights.

  • @creekboy24 i did hells hole with O.A.R istn it by the power plant

  • @creekboy24 listen to drowning pool all over me while looking at it :D

  • @Udooob

It is hell hole because there used to be a bridge support right behind it and if you washed out the wrong way... you were headed for hell.

  • @Udooob actually I think they called it hell hole because there used to be a bridge pylon right after it and if you didn't run the rapid right the pylon was easy to hit.

  • Nice vid, I've rafted the river 6-7 times with the guys at raft1 bringing my ducky this year, can't wait

  • i rafted with raft1 last year. thats a really friendly group of people.

  • Great footage with a great song. I think I played this 8 or 9 times in a row.

  • song is "A Dying Dove" by Daniel G. Harmann. It wasn't my first choice, but it's grown on me :)

  • Why is it called Hell Hole?

Looks like a dream play spot if ya ask me.

  • Try it in an open boat -- it looks like hell then :-)

  • Excellent video in all respects.

  • so funny

  • I rafted on that river, hell hole was pretty awesome it was one of my favorites

  • Im currently training on hell hole, its a lot of fun

  • whats the name of the song?

  • that was awesome

  • this was the only hole i have ever been able to do a loop in

  • 0:35 Nice save!!

  • I just rafted down the Ocoee a few days ago and it inspaired me to get a kayak. I can't wait till i get the money!

  • I remember going down this when I was like 10 years old. :) It was scary as shit, but I still had a blast!

  • i love this rapid. never run it but i love it!!!!!

  • this looks kool. ive only rafted down it... i want to try a kayak but i dont own a dagger kayak just a sit on one.. so im not experienced in sit in so im going to try the nanahala river before ocoee.

  • Don't bother, I was there last week snoozers.

  • best surfspot ever besides lost guide wave on the upper pigeon

  • Comment removed

  • That place is cool to go rafting and i just been their yesterday

  • my fav rapid of the whole river. the only problem is, i forget to watch for the rafts. but they usually go around if you're in the hole... usually

  • Nice...you're actually supposed to yield the hole to upstream traffic, which means you should clear it for a raft coming through. Some rafts will go around, but others will roll right over you!

  • i know, but sometimes i just don't watch. i live about an hour away from the river and ride it as much as i can. in a few weeks we a friend and i are going to take on old school metal canoe down it XD

  • Great video! I only paddled the Ocoee twice. The last time I dropped into Hellhole and a female troll entered at the same time. We somehow "locked paddles" and started doing cartwheels (me backwards) and did that about three time before coming free. It was awesome. I always thought she did it one purpose - maybe a game the trolls played. (this was circa 1993)

  • I have watched this video many times. Awesome job of putting it together with the music. June 21st, of 09 my wife one daughter both got thrown out of the raft here. The daughter rode it out in her life jacket. I pulled the wife back in after someone grabbed her arm going by the rear of the raft. I spend hours just capturing on film all the excitement of the Ocoee.

  • Thanks for the compliment. Actually the video was put together to different music, but they flagged me for a copyright violation so I had to use generic Youtube music, but ah well.

  • im supposed to be going in a couple of weeks

  • Holy goodness.

I went white water rafting on the Ocoee and we saw some freaky-brave kayakers.

Is it safer if you're rafting instead of kayaking?

  • It really depends. That's like asking if it is safer to walk or to drive a car. If you walk on the freeway it is really dangerous, if you drive 5 mph in a field, it isn't dangerous. Rafting is typically safer as you have a guide in the boat, and you aren't attached to the boat, but kayaking can be a lot safer in bigger water, as you have more volume as a person in a kayak than if you are swimming, which you will be in a raft in big water.

  • Hahah, I guess that all makes sense. (:

I definitely want to go white water rafting again. :D

  • I am 15 and I feel safer in my small kayak than I did in a raft on the ocoee

  • My youth group and I rafted down the Ocoee today and I loved it. I was a little nervous at first, not knowing what to expect but once we got in there I had a blast. We almost flipped over at one point but we held it together! Hell's Hole was probaly my favorite section.

  • Sensacional...

    Parabéns!!!

  • i went theere. and fell out right there! got pretty beat up ! haha i was 12

  • i love hitting dis hole lost my front tooth 2

  • What's the song?

  • "A Dying Dove" by Daniel Harmann...free song provided by Youtube after the music I originally edited the video to got pulled for a copyright violation.

  • arnt hydrolic play spots like REALLY dangerous?

  • Certain hydraulics are very dangerous, to the point of being deadly. However, Hell Hole is more of a wave and as you can see in the video, when a paddler flips in there and loses control they simply wash out of the back. You should definitely know the difference and whether a hydraulic is dangerous or "terminal" before running any drop on a river.

  • okay thanks but how can i tell which are safe and which are deadly?

  • The more you paddle the more you will learn about rivers. Always paddle with people who know what they are doing and can teach and it wont be long before you know whats up. For example low head dams create terminal holes, where as almost all natural holes will flush you out (eventually). A good rule of thumb is to just stay away from anything manmade (dams, bridges, etc.)

  • First and foremost, learn to identify river features. By doing so you will have a better understanding of the dynamics of a particular rapid or hoe. Generally its the big violent looking splashy holes that present the least hazard. They will usually eject you with little problem. Calm looking holes at the base of a large drop or pourover with highly areiated (bubbly, frothy) water are indicative of a potentially powerful hydraulic, and present more of a hazard than holes like hellhole.

  • This is one of the best places to play on the ocoee, but i dont like the song... 4*

  • yea its a fun place

  • I fell out there. I got caught under a hydrolic.

  • Now there's a sight for sore eyes! I paddled the Ocoee every weekend for 3 months during the drought of '99 - a great river full of good paddlers. *sigh* I miss the South.

  • lol the great drought of 99 is still the great drought. we are almost out but not yet

  • I'm going my 1st time rafting on sunday...ooooh i'm excited

  • I dropped into Hellhole just as an accomplished

boater was taking the wave. She and I hung up

and we were doing cartwheels (me backwards) and

did about 3 1/2 until we came apart. I think she did it on purpose (she was a troll -bridge denizen). One of my most memorable moments.

  • im going there and im 13 done it b4 but only lasted like 1min and a half LOL

  • ocoee is awesome, went in the summer, the guides rock, hell hole is awesome

  • im a guide on the ocoee and i think its hilarious taht people are so scared of it. then again, it's my job...pretty gnarly video. i've lost many a crew in hell's hole and diamond splitter

  • AAHH!

    i was just there today!!!

    WOO!!!♥

  • Is the ocoee hard? I'm going next week!

  • not all that bad, i'm going saturday for my second time, if you have a solid roll down you'll be fine. if not then good ferrying skills will help you out, there's a sneak to most rapids on the middle ocoee. dont do the upper your first time. hope this helps, its awesome

  • no, its not, it looks hard, but its really not, its so much FUN!!!!

i was just there today lol

    =]

  • omg that's my favorite rapid on the ocoee=]

  • is the ocoee scary? i'm going on it in a few days and i'm kinda freaking out. :l

  • great vid!
