great back handsprings what level does competetive gymnastics start in brittain???? in USAG it starts on level

Elite Gymnasts start at level 5 (under 8 YO) and then every year go down a level. .4 . . .3. . . 2. . . and FIG. Karen just passed her level 4 compulsory and should try and do the voluntary in September (starting from county level till national in November (fingers crossed)

In the US, the compulsory levels start at Level 1 (no competition) and go through Level 10. Some states compete Levels 2 and 3, although most consider Level 4 to be the first REAL competition level. The USAG Levels are also known as the Junior Olympic (or J.O. track). They can be competed much like Club Grades in the UK, or can be used as a progression to the American "Elite" level, which is basically Junior and Senior FIG.

In the UK there is more of a separation b/w the Elite and club track.
