@j7fighter I sort of wonder how some houses can use these when I actually think about it... guess some households don't produce that much or they just squash everything tightly - they're only serviced once a week...
@trashking900 Yep it's still manual here in North Sydney, probably for a while yet to I believe, but who knows what can change in a short period of time. I'm planning on going back there again these holidays for more of this...
Now this is true manual loading, when you have the REAL manual bins!! This is what I like!!!!!! Thanks again for posting Mitch!! I see they use the same truck for paper and trash... Do you ever use the mark the tipper makes on some bins to tell if it's collected by a RL if you don't already know? (The line about 1/3 of the way up the front of the bin, parallel to ground...)
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the footage... well figured you would as you seem to love manual (not that I do or anything - cough). Never actually considered using the marks on the front of the bins to see if RLs serviced bins. Then I guess I don't need to because some places are obvious like tight lanes, etc.
True, true. I always find myself observing bins to see if there's any signs of the truck(s) that have collected it before. You can usually tell, and then of course the marks on bins collected by RRs, Amreps, Mcneilus's are all different, which helps. Really hoping to see more footage of these guys in action, will make us both happy :)
Yep, they swap over on the 2nd load, gotta have a rest... atleast physically. They use RLs there because they have a lot of laneways and tight streets to deal with, so obviously not the best option for a SL to operate in the council + it's much faster over there with an RL. There are two runners over there because there is so much to collect - they do generally 3 loads spread among garbage and recycling - would be too hard on one runner if it was just him on the back...
I was thinking the same thing, even the bins for the flipper are small. I wish the bins were like that when I did residential. Great vid Mitch. Really enjoy the manual loading footage. LOL "Ford Rulz" in the hopper.
In Thailand here garbage truck don't have any trash can lifter, they are only hauler wo dump the trash can and garbage into the hopper.
And even they don't have compactor controller at the side of the hopper, instade of compactor controller is in the cab, so the hauler must shout out so driver can know is time to compact the garbage.
can u get more? manual lifting of bins is my favorite way of watching trash collection. good thing we have that method over here in the US, its actually a pretty common way of trash collection since we mostly have RL's this is my favorite vid out of all the other vids youve made ive watched this like 9 times already LOL!
I'll try and get down there again eventually... but I got another video from a council with heaps of manual lifting! - will upload soon. Down here it's pretty rare to have manual collection like this, because of safety regs. As a matter of fact, they should be using the lifter! lol Only thing is the collections would take too long with the lifters...
Poor bastards are still waiting for the new truck! Is this chick laura i always see her doing bin deliveries

@Superiorpakfan Yeh I saw three of the Scanias out at Superior Pak the other week, can't believe they are still using these old trucks.

North Sydney needs to have more 120 L bins and 80L bins for the garbage.
Binboy97 1 year ago
hey bro how do they fit all their garbage into a little 60liter can? Do these get collected a few times a week or what?
And i though 120 liter bins are tiny.
