omg, thank you so much for your review! It really stopped me from making the mistake of buying these two mascaras. To be honest, I don't like to spend big bucks on mascara, I'd rather spend that money on skincare or foundation/face products. Since I wear contacts, mascaras with fibers is out of the question for me and I can't stand even the slightest mascaras that smudge. It reallly has to last all day for me. Thanks again! I'm sorry your experience was a bad one!
I have both of those too, and I'm asian as well. I didn't really like diorshow.. it weighed down my lashes. But I didn't try the waterproof so iono. Try CG Professional, that's currently my favorite mascara. I dunno how that's gonna work if you have short lashes. I have straight lashes, but they're not incredibly short. And also Sheseido mascara base is like my love haha. Good luck on the search for the perfect mascara!
I think Fibrewig is a zillion times better than Diorshow. If you turn the brush vertically you can keep tipping fibres on your lash tips till they touch your eyebrows. This is a life changing product!!!
I'm sad that I wear contacts because problems with my cornea is not something I'm willing to risk for a mascara, no matter how amazing this one seems to be! :((
I'm Asian, too, and what I've found that works is Shu Uemura's eyelash curler. This is the only curler that I have ever used that actually curls your lashes without giving you a kink, and the curl lasts pretty long, especially with mascara. For mascara, my favorite is Kiss Me Mascara by Blinc. I used to get raccoon eyes, but this got rid of them. You won't get as much length or volume, but it doesn't run or smudge. It's a very reliable mascara. I really recommend it. It's about $24.
Thanks for the tip. I use Shu Uemura's eyelash curler too, but for some reason, it doesn't fit my eye as well. I have yet to try Blinc Kiss Me, but I will soon! Thanks!
you are asian, you can't just expect a mascara to hold a curl for your straight lashes all on its own. Like I said, use base, but before that..heat up your eyelash curler with your blow dryer and curl. After you have all your mascara on, curl again. I have dead straight lashes, but they really curl when I do this. Also, my mascara never runs or smudges.
I noticed a makeup artist who was Asian said that he had oily lashes. Now, I don't want to sound racist at all, and I don't know if it's a common problem among Asians, but he used makeup remover and a q-tip to remove the excess oil and he said it helped for the mascara to stay. You might want to try that! :)
A lot of people around the world experience oily lids/lashes. I don't think it's specific to an ethnic group but oily lids/lashes has more to do with diet, genes, environment, skincare, etc... But this is a good suggestion for those who do have oily lids/lashes.
use a base mascara/primer under your mascara, this helps it last longer and adds performance to your mascara. I am asian too btw, I use Shiseido mascara base. My mascara is MAC prolash. The results are amazing.
try them together, i use both b/c i have short lashes and they don't run when iput them on together. Fiberwig is not really a mascara you HAVE to wear mascara!
oh no! you poor girl! i've heard that mascaras might run because of excess oil on the eyelids. so maybe that might be why. i don't have that problem so i love my diorshow waterproof mascara in azure blue. my washed my face for two minutes and nothing came off! amazing! but thanks for the review on fiberwig, i might buy actually.
That's pretty amazing staying power. Yes, I guess my eye-lids are kind of oily because even black eyeliner somehow ends up at the bottom of my eyes at the end of the day! But, I'm glad you enjoyed the azure Diorshow. Fiberwig is a good buy but the price tag is a slight turnoff. I'm in the process of looking for a cheaper drugstore version of it. Will everyone posted on my successes/failures, haha. Cheers.
imju mascara( fibrewig mascara) is not a high-end mascara. it is a drugstore brand mascara here in japan.

I don't think FiberWig is high end... Its very cheap in Asia.. Diorshow is more high end = luxury brand.

lancome virtouse give you volume, lenght and curl, but the only downfall is that it's really hard to take off! It's around 23 bucks.
