Listeners --- don't mistake this for Slovenian style music... The song Zivijo Polka via Slak is played here "cleveland style". You won't here this kinda of playing style in Slovenia, but rather in the states. The cleveland style is rather a barbaric interpretation of "Slovenian music", however, it's still very popular with the senior citizens in America. Kathy plays well, but lacks "umph". Perhaps true slovenian rhythm might perk things up!

When I hear Slovenian music, especialy as good as this couple can play,I get very soft and nostalgic. My parents were Slovenian and it is in my genes - no doubt.

I you want to hear some typical Czech folk songs performed on accordions go to 'Accordion Pospisil'

My parents moved after second war to Czechoslovakia. I escaped from there to Canada in 1968 after Invasion of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw pact armies. I play accordion too.

I was just at the SNPJ REC center for Youth Roundup Counselor and Young Adult Conference and so of course had polka music on my mind. I just decided to search on here and I immediately recognized Kathy as a former Miss SNPJ!!
