@Falke40lg not really true. the T-90A has one of the top tech in the world as well. its defence and searching capability is among the best in the world. and its 120mm gun can fire missiles which is pretty capable. but the export version, T-90S, is a piece of 'junk' as much of the high tech stuff are removed :D

It really is kinda hard to say which is the best. the Abrams, Challenger,leopard and Merkava ALL have the same type of ceramic armour and same (or close to it.) 120 MM cannon.
The T-90 is just a souped up T-72. The Abrams blasted through them (T-72) like they weren't even there. I doubt the T-90 would fare much better than the T-72 when that 120 mm sabot hits them. And as the Iraqis found out. the 125mm cannon on the T-72 and T-90 cannot break the Abrams armour.
I disliked the video because it was based on a groundless personal opinion rather than on thorough research and still, even if you had inspected the "behaviour" of those 5 tanks in different circumstances and environments you would've came up maximum with a result that would have been valid ONLY for those 5 tanks but never for "all of the tanks in the world"... NO 3rd generation tank has ever fought a tank of the same generation fact ! So which tank is best is all speculation. The thing that counts in combat is training and tactics .
The downfall of the M1a2 is the rotary turbine engtne. Similar to the F18. It runs extremly hot and can start forest fires if parked too close to brush or trees. Also it is very difficult to do maintenance . The leopard 2's engine can be pulled and repaird in under an hour.
@Davidthegreatist actually the engine is a helicopter engine and while they run hot and have a limited range they are quieter then the diesel engines in he leopard 2s or challengers providing a tactical advantage

@Agrippa63 I look at the T90 as the AK47 of the tanks. Yes it's cheap and easy to produce. Their both very reliable especially in the mud and dirt. Both have stopping power and in the right hands can be equally devastating in their respective scales. Yet some how they are both. just not as impressive as other weapons in their class. even if they are some of the most reliable out there.

T-90 shouldn't be number 2. it is funny and lame. The T-90 is only 46 tonnes because it uses lighter armor and its auto loader can't put a different round into a tank barrel once another round is inside. Only manual loaders can do that. The T-90 does have sniper missles though, but the Abrams and Merkeva have similiar weapons too. Once an Abrams destroyed T-72 at 8100 meters with that missle, that's over 5 miles away.
I think T-90 should be N1. It could destroy 7 targets at a speed of 25km/h in 2.5km in 54 seconds Leopard and Abrams only 6.. T-90 has "Stora" system which consists of reflecting ATGMs flying to the tank M1A2 doesnt have that. T-90 also has rounds that can be shot but then blowed by remote, M1A2 doesnt have that.
@N1DE0N Could resist Challenger or Leopard from ATGM which Merkava may issue a cannon? The first battle for Merkava.1 ended in defeat. All five tanks were hit, but no Israeli tank crew killed.

Sigh...you don't know how wrong you are. First of all the M1A2 Abrams is the FASTEST tank in the world. It can actually go up to 70 miles per hour, but it is governed around 45-50 miles. Second of all, ANY modern tank can be taken out by a simple well placed RPG. As I'm SURE you know *sarcasm* there is more armor to the front of a tank. If a person knows the weak spots of a certain tank, they can DISABLE it with one shot. HOWEVER, this tank can not be DESTROYED with one RPG.
In fact I've seen reports of an M1 Abrams in Iraq that was shot 14 times with Rpgs and was still going. So...yea. The scene you described would more likely be a Taliban Operative reloading his Rpg AGAIN yelling in Arabic "WHY WON'T YOU STOP!!!"

Calling the Leopard A6 the best tank in the world is like calling Sylvester Stallone the best fighter in the world (this is not to say the the Leopard is not a great tank, the fact is we have no proof).

@kraigthorne I was soldier on Leopard 2A6 and my tank drove 85km/h and the armor-plating are max. 1730mm at the front and the L-55 gun are 6,6m long
the same cannon has the Abrams and Merkava (license of a german company)
aaaand Merkava has the same engine from german company,
the Abrams is used by 5 countries and the Leo is used 18 countries and Kanada used the Leo2A6M in Afghanistan

It really is kinda hard to say which is the best. the Abrams, Challenger,leopard and Merkava ALL have the same type of ceramic armour and same (or close to it.) 120 MM cannon.
The T-90 is just a souped up T-72. The Abrams blasted through them (T-72) like they weren't even there. I doubt the T-90 would fare much better than the T-72 when that 120 mm sabot hits them. And as the Iraqis found out. the 125mm cannon on the T-72 and T-90 cannot break the Abrams armour.

I disliked the video because it was based on a groundless personal opinion rather than on thorough research and still, even if you had inspected the "behaviour" of those 5 tanks in different circumstances and environments you would've came up maximum with a result that would have been valid ONLY for those 5 tanks but never for "all of the tanks in the world"... The downfall of the M1a2 is the rotary turbine engtne. Similar to the F18. It runs extremly hot and can start forest fires if parked too close to brush or trees. Also it is very difficult to do maintenance . The leopard 2's engine can be pulled and repaird in under an hour.

@Agrippa63 I look at the T90 as the AK47 of the tanks. Yes it's cheap and easy to produce. Their both very reliable especially in the mud and dirt. Both have stopping power and in the right hands can be equally devastating in their respective scales. Yet some how they are both. just not as impressive as other weapons in their class. even if they are some of the most reliable out there.

T-90 shouldn't be number 2. it is funny and lame. The T-90 is only 46 tonnes because it uses lighter armor and its auto loader can't put a different round into a tank barrel once another round is inside. Only manual loaders can do that. The T-90 does have sniper missles though, but the Abrams and Merkeva have similiar weapons too. Once an Abrams destroyed T-72 at 8100 meters with that missle, that's over 5 miles away.

I think T-90 should be N1. It could destroy 7 targets at a speed of 25km/h in 2.5km in 54 seconds Leopard and Abrams only 6.. T-90 has "Stora" system which consists of reflecting ATGMs flying to the tank M1A2 doesnt have that. T-90 also has rounds that can be shot but then blowed by remote, M1A2 doesnt have that.

abrams hulls have never been compromised by enemy fire not even the by largest ied in Iraq. all of those burned out abrams,in those propaganda videos, was due to us forces or vandals after the crew evacuated.
there was one incident where a hydraulic line in the engine bay was damaged by mortar
but that was a fluke hit, and the m1 kept rolling,
unable to fight but it got outta danger.

Sigh...you don't know how wrong you are. First of all the M1A2 Abrams is the FASTEST tank in the world. It can actually go up to 70 miles per hour, but it is governed around 45-50 miles. Second of all, ANY modern tank can be taken out by a simple well placed RPG. As I'm SURE you know *sarcasm* there is more armor to the front of a tank. If a person knows the weak spots of a certain tank, they can DISABLE it with one shot. HOWEVER, this tank can not be DESTROYED with one RPG.

In fact I've seen reports of an M1 Abrams in Iraq that was shot 14 times with Rpgs and was still going. So...yea. The scene you described would more likely be a Taliban Operative reloading his Rpg AGAIN yelling in Arabic "WHY WON'T YOU STOP!!!"
