great capture! I live in a little town in NW Oregon. We have an old abandoned mill pond where bald eagles and ospreys fish almost daily. I have often witnessed this kind of battle, but have been unable to capture it with my camera. In fact the eagles also try to steal fish from the great blue herons. it gets quite comical sometimes.

I see this all the time at one of my fishing holes. You'll see a osprey swoop down and get a fish and just like clock work you can count on it. Two Bald eagles come from behind the trees like fighter pilots one engages the target and the other takes the fish. Then they regroup and fly off to eat there meal. One of the coolest things to see.

@Faelsun one of the reasons some of the founding fathers did not want to use the bald eagle as the national emblem,considered timid with a habit of scavenging as well as thieving from the osprey.Ben Franklin suggested the wild turkey !(became the thanksgiving symbol)The bald eagle does however strike the dramatic pose, proud,noble.Bounties were paid by ranchers up untill 1963 along with ddt poisoning their original range is smaller now but we see them here in northern alberta occasionally
