I just started riding and have a 2011 CBR250R and i wear full gear. I am not concerned about my abilities as they is just get better in time. My concern is for all the other drivers out there that either didn't see you or didn't think you were going that fast. Accidents can happen to anyone and my life is worth more then being possibly ridiculed for wearing full gear while riding a smaller bike.

As someone said before, these little bikes can do upto 80mph+ if you fancy crashing at that speed with no gear on then that's your choice. But tbh I find it hard to believe that someone like you has ever even sat on a 125, never mind ridden one at high speed.
There's nothing wrong in wearing protective gear on a small bike. It's the smartest thing to do. CBR 125 can go up to 120 km/h and even higher speeds. Crashing at that speed hurts, no matter are you riding 125cc or 1000cc. And it's pure ignorance and stupidity to claim that accident wouldn't happen, YES THEY DO happen. And it doesn't need to be your fault. Only a few can guarantee their own riding skills and no one can predict other's driving. Always prepare for the worst, wear helmet and gear.
@Glenny94 nope, as long as your in full gear and dont hit anything you have a very good chance, mate fell off at 193kph slightest road rash where his glove wore through and a few bruises...other than that not a scratch on him. WEAR FULL GEAR, and you stand a good chance.

I ride a 125 and I love it, I overtake most cars on the road and I can match most on acceleration to 60mph as well.

@w8lifter201 Well don't plan on buying any mirrors then mate because you ain't gonna look pretty when you crash, and it's not if, it's when. As someone said before, these little bikes can do upto 80mph+ if you fancy crashing at that speed with no gear on then that's your choice. But tbh I find it hard to believe that someone like you has ever even sat on a 125, never mind ridden one at high speed.

There's nothing wrong in wearing protective gear on a small bike. It's the smartest thing to do. CBR 125 can go up to 120 km/h and even higher speeds. Crashing at that speed hurts, no matter are you riding 125cc or 1000cc. And it's pure ignorance and stupidity to claim that accident wouldn't happen, YES THEY DO happen. And it doesn't need to be your fault. Only a few can guarantee their own riding skills and no one can predict other's driving. Always prepare for the worst, wear helmet and gear.

@Glenny94 nope, as long as your in full gear and dont hit anything you have a very good chance, mate fell off at 193kph slightest road rash where his glove wore through and a few bruises...other than that not a scratch on him. WEAR FULL GEAR, and you stand a good chance.

lovein the comments and stupidity of all you lot just read one saying i ride an r1 and only wear helmet and boots :S lemme no how that goes for you when ur sliding dow the road after an unexpected mistake or somebody else losing control and straight into you , bikes aint killers if u no how to ride them < and as to the mother of brent robinson very sorry to hear that but then how is it the bikes fault it hasnt got a mind of its own it does what ts told to do you make the bike go 100+ mph

U R the 1stt person who has not attacked & realize the HUGE risk factor when kids who just received their car automobile driving license months ago, think they r qualified 2 take on such powerful motorcycles & navigate thru traffic conditions w/ little 2 NO training whatsoever. You can't predict what will happen & n a split second u could b n danger w/out a clue how 2 react or control your bike.

@MarshaRandolph Thankyou for your kind words. It shocks me that in America you can just hop on a high performance bike without any real practice. I fully support your cause in ending this. I hope I'm not overstepping the line, but I think it would be great if people could enjoy motorcycling like your son did but through his memory bring in safer laws so they don't get hurt like he did. I'm very sorry for your loss, but I think thanks to good people like you he will be remembered.

@MTW96709764 And what are you riding big man? 125cc's are STARTER bikes, they are light, nippy and easy to handle, most 125's on the market today (even four strokes) can get to 70mph and the sportier ones can get upwards of a tonne. There is a difference between being a pussy and not being a cocky twat trying to make up for his lack of genitalia by knocking other people's bikes. I ride a 125 and I love it, I overtake most cars on the road and I can match most on acceleration to 60mph as well.

You do realise there are 125cc motorcycles that can do 140mph+ and 0-60mph in less than five seconds right? I've seen it with my own eyes. I suspect that people like you probably buy bikes with massive engines because you think it makes you like like a big man, it doesn't, it just makes you another statistic, just another silly little boy that got killed cos he couldn't handle his new toy.

@MTW96709764 When I've got the experience I need I'm going to get a 600cc, but until then, I'm gonna actually learn how to ride properly before I get one, because I don't want to total a bike worth thoudands. And I can guarentee that I am a better rider than you. You learn NOTHING from jumping on a massive motorbike that you can't handle properly. You give bikers a bad name.

@MTW96709764 I don't just ride 125's, I've ridden all sorts of bikes of different power levels. Where I live on UK roads 75mph is all I need, maybe if I lived in the US and had long straight roads and freeways then I would want something with more power. I don't talk shit, you were bitching about 125cc's. As I said before, search for the Aprillia rs 125, it can do 0-60 in 5 seconds and tops out at 140 mph. I ride a bike because I enjoy it, not because I want to try and look like a big man.

@MTW96709764 There are plenty of videos here on YT of bikers on 125cc's destroying people on 600cc sport bikes on the twisties. As I said, the decent two stroke 125's can get over 130mph, you don't need any more than that on twisty roads, and if you only go in a straight line, you might as well buy a Harley. Going fast in a straight line involves little skill.

@MTW96709764 Yeah you prob. would now I have a four stroke, when on had my two stroke rs, I'm not so sure... at best you would probably have managed to stay a few metres in front. 0-60 in six seconds and a top speed of over 130mph whether on a 125 or not, is still one hell of a bike. I'm about to do my bike test in two weeks, and I've got my eye on a nice 750cc. When I get, I won't whine about smaller bikes like you, because I understand that people that buy big bikes with no skills end up smear on the pavement. Check American accident statistics compared to UK. Safe riding bud!

@MTW96709764 Ah, so you COULD give a shit about statistics then? What defines slow to you? In the UK, the fastest roads a learner is allowed on are dual carriageways (sort of mini freeways with two lanes) and the traffic on those flows at around 65-70mph, which my bike can manage easily. I don't understand what your problem is? Perhaps you don't understand UK law? In which case, you shouldn't be commenting on 125cc's as they are designed to be "learner legal".
