If he pulls through, I'll devote my efforts into acting and animating Nailbunny and they can take care of shooting, lighting, editing, scene scouting, etc. If not, then I'll either try to film the last few shots or just release what I have of the film later this year.

@HavvahartKL Thanks for the compliment, but I simply didn't know anyone thin enough or anyone that would be available when I was shooting so the role just fell on me! It was tricky doing acting, custume, props, location scouting, animation, and video editing all for this project.

In the full film, I get more insane/angry but there wasn't really a place for smiling in the story "Descent." We didn't have the budget for tearing bodies apart just for the trailer, either. I improvised with the knife shot and my hand in the clamp.

OHMAHGAWD I knew I had to comment on this when I heard "I'll show you wacky . . . I'LL SHOW YOU WACKY!" This owns so much it hurts. PLEASE make more, if only to make a fangirl like myself smile. Also, you should know that laugh made me spill soda on the table. LOL Win
try using a higher contrast and brighten the film to accentuate the scenes as well as compliment the shadows used in the comic. It will give it more of an artistic feel instead of a kid who got a camera but didn't consider audio feedback or lighting.
@foolycootie302 We had to use a wig and got lazy with the spikes due to difficulty with keeping consistency and the amount of time it took from shooting. Didn't have to resources to dirty or significantly alter any of our locations (none of which were a bathroom, and most were on site at Rutgers University), and the few resources we did have had to go towards the costume, preplanning, location scouting, continuity, shooting, editing, animation, etc.

All in all, it's a really good trailer. Better than most of the ones you'd find on YouTube that try to play Johnny off as some brooding, tortured artist rather than the hopelessly insane individual he is. I'll most likely watch your adaptation of the "Descent" chapter, too. However, there are still quite a few things you need to work on as an actor, an editor, and a director.
I really like this, and I hope you find my critique as a viewer fair and(most importantly) useful. ^_^
The transitions in the trailer were also rather bland at points.
One part that sticks out is the "No, the CD's just skipping" part. I really think you missed the "Oh Crap" moment that should be in the scene, it seems more like a piece of a boring conversation than anything. I'd recommend maybe adding a cut of him continuing his rampage immediately after the scene when the music picks up, or something like that, in order to illustrate the black comedy of the film.
I like the effects, and you've created an interesting look that might translate well into a film. However, I think you could've done a bit better. Your act as Johnny had the plus element of not being too hammy or melodramatic(unlike most of the other adaptations I've seen), but you downplayed it just a bit too much. The rest of the actors were terrible.
@ometta7 Violence scenes are a bit tougher to do because they generally need fake blood or creativity to do well, and my partner and I (Devi) were working on the cheap. I do wish there were more, because the concept would come across easier. The extras in the cafe scene pissed me off because most of them smiled in all of the takes, though we did just pull them over to do the shot just moments before. I do appreciate the criticism, though.
@ChozoBoy Right. I understand that. Although if you'd like I could give you some really easy and affordable recipes for fake blood that I've found on the internet and used myself. Really all it takes is correct measurements of corn syrup, red and blue food coloring, and milk.
And no problem on the crit. Like I said, I really enjoy what you did here, and I'm just wanting to see you reach your fullest potential.

I just didn't have an opportunity to get a kid to do the scene for me in time, but I really regret not including a shot of him because I intended to open it with a shot of him from the first comic story.

But more importantly
try using a higher contrast and brighten the film to accentuate the scenes as well as compliment the shadows used in the comic. It will give it more of an artistic feel instead of a kid who got a camera but didn't consider audio feedback or lighting.

@foolycootie302 We had to use a wig and got lazy with the spikes due to difficulty with keeping consistency and the amount of time it took from shooting. Didn't have to resources to dirty or significantly alter any of our locations (none of which were a bathroom, and most were on site at Rutgers University), and the few resources we did have had to go towards the costume, preplanning, location scouting, continuity, shooting, editing, animation, etc.

All in all, it's a really good trailer. Better than most of the ones you'd find on YouTube that try to play Johnny off as some brooding, tortured artist rather than the hopelessly insane individual he is. I'll most likely watch your adaptation of the "Descent" chapter, too. However, there are still quite a few things you need to work on as an actor, an editor, and a director.
I really like this, and I hope you find my critique as a viewer fair and(most importantly) useful. ^_^

The transitions in the trailer were also rather bland at points.
One part that sticks out is the "No, the CD's just skipping" part. I really think you missed the "Oh Crap" moment that should be in the scene, it seems more like a piece of a boring conversation than anything. I'd recommend maybe adding a cut of him continuing his rampage immediately after the scene when the music picks up, or something like that, in order to illustrate the black comedy of the film.

I like the effects, and you've created an interesting look that might translate well into a film. However, I think you could've done a bit better. Your act as Johnny had the plus element of not being too hammy or melodramatic(unlike most of the other adaptations I've seen), but you downplayed it just a bit too much. The rest of the actors were terrible.

@ometta7 Violence scenes are a bit tougher to do because they generally need fake blood or creativity to do well, and my partner and I (Devi) were working on the cheap. I do wish there were more, because the concept would come across easier. The extras in the cafe scene pissed me off because most of them smiled in all of the takes, though we did just pull them over to do the shot just moments before. I do appreciate the criticism, though.

@ChozoBoy Right. I understand that. Although if you'd like I could give you some really easy and affordable recipes for fake blood that I've found on the internet and used myself. Really all it takes is correct measurements of corn syrup, red and blue food coloring, and milk.
And no problem on the crit. Like I said, I really enjoy what you did here, and I'm just wanting to see you reach your fullest potential.
