The fake bigsbies (I guess that's how you'd spell the plural) are in fact made by Gretsch for this guitar! Says so on the Ibanez website.
My Dad's friend has a Gretsch Nashville and one of these, and says that this is the better guitar! I have one too and still love it after changing the muddy pickups.
Only downsides I guess are where the pickup switch is placed, and how it has tiny f-holes that look a bit weird in my opinion
@leefire2 Try some better pickups but semi-hollow and especially (fully) hollow body guitars are going to squeal worse than a solid body would...I like to work the line right before it's out of control!
@greengtrs I don't really think the feedback is a bad thing because it doesn't affect the overall sound, its just that I didn't expect it to feedback so much. I see it as a special quality to the guitar
@paulgaudinjrBCN As you can hear towards the end (about the 7:30 mark), I raised the gains fairly high and it handled it pretty well, but you do have to watch it more than with a solid body...
@Xdiegop Not Metal so much...better to go with a semi-hollow or a solid body guitar...this one is full hollow and would probably feed back bad at higher volume/gain settings...not sure what you mean by the guitar falls...
I have black 75 no trem, I want to install one, but I have no clue as to what one to get.
I need to look in to it. I found my use at GC for $149.00 bet a great guitar. It is mint and is one of the best Arch made in a true price range. I think black is not made now, I could be wrong.
@meb659 I don't like telling people that they are idiots even when they are, but just who do you think Ibanez was copying (or who influenced their design)? IT IS A COPY OF A BIGSBY TREM. I think I said it clearly...there was no misleading here...now go look at some various Bigsby designs (as there are many) and think about what I said.
@skullcandy157 Sorry...it's long gone and I can't remember what it went for...this was about a year ago...they are not very expensive though so I'm guessing about $400
@greengtrs At the moment they go for about £405 in England, so that would be about $640, but they tax us almost 20% over here, so I would expect they would be about $400-$500 in the US
@greengtrs First thing I'm going to do with that guitar is post a video of me doing a psychobilly cover of Green Leaves of Summer =D, so I'll definitely get it as a response to yours.
@305catsquid Yeah...it wouldn't be Ted's first choice (he can afford the best and generally uses Semi-Hollow PRS guitars that stay in tune better and don't feedback/squeal as much as these or even his old Gibson Byrdland's for that matter), but it could work.
Thanks for making me feel jealous this evening, I should have bought one when it was on sale at a rather ridiculous price but as they always say he who hesitates....
@MrBavelaar That might be pushing it, and it wouldn't be my first choice for that stuff...I would go with a solid body or a semi hollow (and not a full hollow like this), but if you really want to, go for it (give it a try...if it doesn't work, sell it and get something else...and buy used so you don't take the depreciation hit)!
@thehefolomp You can make anything work if you truly want to and my viewpoint was that I didn't want to play what everyone else was (or even what was considered "right" or suggested). You will have to watch feedback when you are loud with the gain on and close to your amp, but that can be fun too...being right on the edge of feeding back (and being out of control) is what I like to go for anyways. To resurrect a quote from my skateboarding days, go for it!
@thefirstwoodwolf I hated the Fakesby on my AFS75T. I replaced it with a trapeze tailpiece (and a rosewood bridge/saddle) almost immediately. So, if anyone needs an AFS75T Fakesby, I've got one lying around.
@LucasJamesHicks Very interesting comment...and funny...if you click on it you go back to the beginning of the video...not sure what you meant it to be but it brought me a smile...so thanks!
@RoCkStArOsOriO Sorry...this one is long gone...subscribe and you'll get a heads up of inventory before I post it to eBay as I always do a video here first...
@innerdeth the AK80.... or even better, the AK95. That is one sweet ass jazzbox. Of course, with any of the sub-$1000 MSRP Artcores, you'll need to replace the pickups in order to get a traditional jazz tone. Those ceramic pickups are way too bright and brassy sounding.
As is the problem with most hollow/semi-hollow body guitars (such as an AF85 i used to own), does this model give feedback when the amp is turned up loud?
@000steelandstone000 I was turned up to a reasonable stage volume and it handled itself pretty well...but it will feedback if you want it to or let it.
You should probably go with more of a Semi-Hollow guitar (they have a block of wood connecting the back to the top and you will be able to get a more controllable feedback/sustain from it) and you should probably have a bridge that has studs in the body vs. a floating bridge like on this one. That's my initial thoughts without asking you a lot of questions...that said, I was highly impressed at how far I could push this one especially towards the end of the video. Thanks for watching!
@Theoffspring875 i got one but you cant use this on metal music this guitar is a beauty and is for soft music only you know jazz rockabilly you can take the risk of soun very soft when metal is very hard maybe can be mor useful for you a epiphone flying bird is like if you want to put on a porn movie some classic and beauty and cleanly girl you needa a pornstar man...lol
The strings? I usually use D'addario or Thomastik, but this was a set of Elixer Nanowebs...I wanted to dull the highs just a bit...if it was D'Addario's then you would have been able to see the colored ball ends on the Bigsby licensed trem.
I am thinking about buying one of these Ibanez Artcore AFS75T, and i was wondering if you could tell me how to switch from sounding like blues to more rock/metal?
its all bout ur amp and pedal if u have any..and the amp has effects so u can make it sound ur style and if u want to add a kick get a boss ds 1 or any other distortion
Apples vs. oranges...they are both good guitars and I like them both...it depends on the sound and feel (and looks) you want. Buy used (you should be able to sell it for about what you paid for it if you decide you don't want to keep it)...there are probably a ton of Epi SG's out there used for a deal...
i have a question.. does this sound great with distortion/overdrive? i've seen other videos and they seem all with clean tone. i hope someone can answer me :)
You obviously didn't watch the video...I almost always give guitars both clean and dirty time...if I am going to sacrifice one, then the clean goes. I gave it a full 4 minutes of distorted/overdriven playing...tons of different tones...both pickups...even two different levels of tube gain from the amp...listen from 5:00 - 9:00 minutes and that should answer any questions.
The whammy is not a Bigsby "copy", it is actually made under Bigsby license by Ibanez, and some ppl thinks it's better than the Bigsby. Anyway, i have one of those guitars, and it's bang for bucks for rockabilly, jazz, blues and old style rock'n'roll. It's all down to the setup of the guitar.
i got one of these at my "non truthtellers anon " meeting for two bucks !!!

The trem isn't Bigsby and it's not Bigsby copy. It's Ibanez, which is a totally different thing. You should stop false advertising.
