its funny, if you take a look at the situation, the real life Krammer resembles krammer as in he took advantage of an opportunity to make money, and is stretching it.
the real Costanza meanwhile did something, Costanza would do...he tries to make a point and it ends up back in his face.
I'm reading a different book at the moment on Jerry's life/personal history/upcoming and to me, it sounds like Costanza was a really rad friend. Driving and picking Jerry up from show to show, he sounded like a real pal, I don't really know what happened between the two. But it sounded like Costanza was a very good friend in the early days, I hope I have a sucha friend if I decide to do some thing as challengingly ambitious as stand up comedy.
listen you fucking low lifes still living in your parents basement get a fucking life already.
You don't know shit about me and jerry- just your fantasy life i never came out with this book because i did not want to hurt anyone assholes- i never published this book. i don't need anyones money either i'm doing just fine i live a great life with a great family and lots of friends and all my old friends are dissapointed in jerry. i would love for you douchbags to introduce yourselves to me
@JERRYKNIGHT84 hey douchbag what the fuck do you know about anything?
your a coward who would never face me in real lifeget a job, get a life and crawl back in the slimey swamhole you came from.
me and jerry have reconciled- i saw your you tube sight and laughed my asshole at what a pathetic cry for attention -i'm done responding -got no time for assholes like you. i turned down 6 figures to publish this book i don't need the money do your own research and find out what the lawsuit was about
@mi9655 I know a fat loser when I see one. I would face you in real life and I would spit in your face
You put so much effort into that response didn't you fatboy? You responded within minutes to my comment. that really shows that you have no life. a grown man in his sixties responding to hate mail on youtube all day hahaha I can't take offence from such a low form of life.
You are right, the George Costanza character was based on Larry David.......the characters name, and only his name, was based upon Jerry's friend Mike Costanza.
To use the words of Kenny Kramer: "Mike Costanza is obviously a shameless opportunist who should start a tour"
Everyone knows that the events in George's life were based on real experiences of Larry David. The only thing he has is the lastname. Maybe Jerry should not have given that name to the character.
To the ones bashing Jerry and Larry: Get a life of your own and stop criticizing talented people who work hard to win in life!
i still believe that maybe mike was the basis for George but larry ended up taking over and using events in his own life to convey George later on in the show.
Inspiration and successful comedy are worlds apart. Are we to compensate every person we make fun of? If this friend was humorous enough to be transposed into a quality sitcom, he should have felt honored that he was part of it. If Costanza had been anything more than a character, were he a comedian or writer, and Jerry had stolen his material, HUGE issue. Being the punchline for an amusing character based on Larry David's thought process, I don't see checks in the mail being a moral necessity.
I'd also like to add that as a writing project, I had my students write to Jerry Seinfeld to ask an autograph, since I teach at the middle school that Jerry attended. 50 kids wrote to him, 50 kids anxiously awaited a response, and guess how many we got? ZER)! Not even a form letter. You're a classless act in my book, Jerry! I guess you're too busy spending all your money to be bothered!
@dorotheacarney great job of teaching kids how to harass famous peolpe and at the same time spreading your hatred and jealousy of successful people to the younger generations
As a friend of Mike Costanza, I like to say that he's an honest, upright guy who wrote this book because of the betrayal he felt by Jerry Seinfeld. If anyone has ever been betrayed by a friend, they'll understand the need for this book. Believe me, it will totally change your perspective of Jerry Seinfeld.
Larry David can't be George Costanza after hearing this information and reading Mike Costanza's original book. Where is Jerrey throughoutout all of this??? Jerry Seinfeld never disputed the fact that George was and is the real Costanza, however, he would never publically announce this, and has been slient....why....
Mike Costanza is the basis for George Costanza. The character was created as a result of the long friendship between Mike Costanza and Jerry Seinfeld. I am surprised that Jerry Seinfeld has never gone public with any specific comments. Tough to disagree with real photos and a wedding video. Show me anywhere Jerry states Mike's info is incorrect. Why did Jerry stab his friend in the back?
I honestly believe that, while Mike didnt set out to write a hit sitcom with Jerry, many of his conversations and stories made it into the series because it was funny material. Larry David added his Woody Allen-esque personality to George's character. One can see a bit of Larry David in all of the Seinfeld characters, but that doesnt mean that many of parts of Mike's life did not make it on the screen.
It would be nice to be given credit where credit is due.
God bless you in your pursuit of justice. I pray that you will be vindicated. I know it's not about money Michael, it's about your name, your honor and most of all, friendship. When you trust someone, it's with your heart and soul. Who would expect that anyone could then act as if you never existed.
There'd be no Costanza, probably no Seinfeld show without you. The NAME George may come from George Shapiro, THE DARKSIDE OF George may come from Larry David, but Jerry would have had NO show without the buddy who helped him to laugh at life by laughing first at himself. To succeed, the main characters needed to be BIG. You brought a plethora of 'something', the Je ne sais quoi to the Show about Nothing!
For a person like Jerry, who's entire 'schtick' is comprised of life situations, you were tremendous fodder for his material.
It's true, you were VERY ANGRY when we split, the fact that Costanza's fiance SUSAN was killed off, certainly didn't pass over my head. We weren't engaged, but your mama had told my mama that she had the basement redone and fixed up nice so we could have our shower there. No Mike, it all goes far beyond similarities.
Mike could navigate Manhattan like no one else and park a ship into a dinghy-sized spot, his expertise. The proverbial boy who'd get his hand caught in the cookie jar, have cookie crumbs all over his chin and still be able to look you in the eye and charmingly convince you he'd never even seen the cookies. After we broke up, I saw Mike again in 1974 when we went to the feast of san Gennaro [of course for Calzones and Sausage and Peppers]. He'd told me about his new friend who was a comedian.
Maybe we should hear Costanza out. After all, it ain't easy being betrayed by someone you admire and trust. I had heard that Jerry had told Costanza that he would help him get started in a business with $100,000, and when Costanza went out on a limb (based on Jerry's promises) Jerry backed down and left the guy in a financial hole. I just think that a guy reported to bring in over 400 million dollars a year could have helped his best friend out with $100,000.
I can't wait to get Mike's new book. I was skeptical about the real Costanza until I read the 1st book and saw pictures of him with all of the cast members and even Jerry at his wedding! He definitely is credible. It's good to see Mike got through it all and is in good spirits. This video shows how sincere he is and that even he can laugh at what happened.
Jerry never compensated Mike for any of the story lines he got from him. I certainly want to hear what happened with the lawsuit.
Well, he wants money is what he thinks will happen. But no one knows anything besides Mike & Jerry. Your last sentence is just you talking out of your ass, because who knows what went on there. This book could be sort of interesting; could also be full of lies. But Mike does look like a wiseguy, wouldn't be surprised if the guy is a swindler. And Larry David is a big masochistic liberal, Jerrys all eccentric with a thousand white shoes and cars he cant drive, they're all as wierd as each other
As a person who knew the REAL COSTANZA before he met the REAL SEINFELD, I can honestly say that ALL of the funniest facts and details of the character of Costanza were originated by Mike. He DID have a gym teacher who called him CantStandYa, he did injure his hand in a football play 'gone wrong', and as a result he had definite preferences for which side his date should sit. The gift for gab, the bathroom humor & need for good reading materials- ALL MIKE!
You Don't get to say period. You don't know anything but butt kissing to Jerry and Larry. You think theyy are right just because they say so? You can't discount the photos, the video of mikes wedding and the court of appeals saying the case had merit. The new book expands on a lot of things that happened after the original book came out and it is very interesting. Larry's soon to be exwife even said he was less han original, I'm being kind.
They reconciled. It's all good now

I would think that if you wanted to sell a lot of books, you would do some market research.. ? yes?
The only people that dont like Seinfeld = are people that dont know Seinfeld...
That = 0.00 people.
You have done more harm to your own name than Seinfeld could ever do!
