"A several of chimpanzes escaped from the L.A. Zoo earlier this week... Unfortunately they broke into the NBC studios and wrote the scripts for entire next season of 'We Got it Maid'" _ Johnny Carson
Thanks for posting this long-forgotten show that I used to watch in the early '80s, when I was in junior high. Haven't seen it since it originally aired at that time. And actress Teri Copley was a cutie-pie before she quit the business and became a born-again Christian.
"Tom Villard" - was gay. died of 'dickitis". this show was terrible. cheap knock-off of "THree's Company"..at least another attempt to have a show with a jiggling blonde. wasn't terri copley married to tom wompat?

A good show that never caught on. Sad to learn Tom Villard died at 40. He and Stephanie Kramer reunited on a episode of "HUNTER". He played a physcic, who helped catch a killer.
I saw this on NBC, but I never saw the syndicated version, I don't think that SuperStation WTBS (later SuperStation TBS), USA Network or WGN (now WGN America) has ever showed this in reruns
But also, Teri Copley was certainly no Suzanne Somers or Priscilla Barnes and I do remember the late Tom Villard and Bonnie Urseth on Pyramid w/Dick Clark and other Game Shows and Stepfanie Kramer who later became the Brass Cupcake named Dee Dee McCall on HUNTER Starring Fred Dryer
Oh my goodness. That intro is retarded and yet I still watched this show. I forgot about Matt McCoy! He stars in my favorite craptastic SyFy movie, "Abominable."
@CineGMitchell According to the end credits of one episode, Image West -- a long-defunct electronic animation studio based on L.A. -- did the intro.
Thankfully, We Got It Made would be totally forgotten the moment NBC brought in someone who the following season would finally save the network from extinction. His name? BILL COSBY!!!!!!!!
OMG I remember watching this BOMB of a show. It was cancelled about 3 or 4 times. The stupid network kept bring it back for summer or mid-season replacements
You're probably thinking of other shows..WGIM was cancelled once on NBC (March 1984) after a six month run, and again after one season in first-run syndication (March 1988).
@VaultMasterDBT No I am not . I grew up in the1990's and used to watch tv like 12+ hours a day. I even watched the really bad shows like Hello Larry, The Ropers, Condo (only lasted 2 or 3 shows) Flo, Just the 10 of us, After MASH, Port Charles and others.
So this was one of Matt McCoy's roles, before he was brought-in as filler for the "Now-vacant" spot left by Steve Gutenberg after Police Academy 4: Citizens On Patrol. Wow....
Anyone ever see the episode where Teri models "Tan In a Can" spray-on tan? It worked... Right up to the moment her skin turns blue!
@nickelindimer two future upholders of the law: Stephanie Kramer as Dee Dee McCall on Hunter (pairing with Fred Dryer and Rick Hunter); and Matt McCoy in Police Academy.
Fred Silverman, former programmer of CBS, ABC and NBC, was co-executive producer of this series; as he was behind the initial success of "THREE'S COMPANY", he figured he'd make Teri Copley the "Suzanne Somers of 1983". The original series lasted one season, and Stepfanie Kramer went on to co-star with Fred Dryer in "HUNTER" the following season. However, Silverman had a chance to revive the show in first-run syndication in the fall of 1987...which again, lasted just one more season.
@fromthesidelines - Even though this show was one of Fred Silverman's big bombs, the mid-'80s brought Fred Silverman new-found success when he brought Raymond Burr out of retirement for the Perry Mason TV movies in 1985 & signed Andy Griffith as Ben Matlock on Matlock in 1986 & also gave Tom Bosley Father Dowling Mysteries & transformed Caroll O'Connor from bigoted Archie Bunker to more easy-going Bill Gillespie on "In the Heat of the Night" in March of 1988.
@modernity2001 I agree. This show was REALLY bad, so it's surprisng people still remember it. Copely is a born again Christian now, probably repenting for her time on this show and that horrible movie, I Married a Centerfold.
@newscaster13 You should have seen Fred Dryer's tryout as Sam Malone for "Cheers"... He played it a total macho, dumb-jock. Lucky for Ted Danson--and us--the role went to him.
this stinks of the 80's.

Another one of Fred Silverman's flops.
stolte95 3 weeks ago
@stolte95 Actually, this came out after Silverman left NBC and was replaced by Brandon Tartikoff.
Tubewings 3 weeks ago
@Tubewings Yeah, but Silverman produced this himself, independently. Then he brought it to NBC and they bought it.
thesafekind 1 week ago
@thesafekind Ah...
But it makes me wonder why NBC would approve of this show considering that he almost killed the network during his tenure there.
Thankfully, Silverman would redeem himself with the Perry Mason TV movies, Matlock, In the Heat of the Night, etcetera.

Uh, no it didn't. You can't say any decade's television as a whole sucked..as in any era, you had your good and bad. Think about that.
