I remember X-mas morning 1984 and waking up to a gift-wrapped package with Batman & The Flash inside. I was slightly disappointed only for the fact that I was expecting Robin instead lol
@NoWarningShot I had all those same guys when i was a kid too..dont have them now..wish i did for my son...i also had lex luthor and i had a real old batmobile that i foolishly sold one day in a mock third grade classroom auction for some b.s. classrooms bucks that never got me anything worth having...my mom is still pissed...and im 29 years old lol..//dont lose yours man./
I was 9 when I got the Non-Super Powered Joker, Penguin, and Robin. They were fun, but cheaply made. I don't remember Kenner making cheap toys except for the DC lineup.
@WebVMan Those were the Toy Biz Super Heroes collection - Toy Biz bought the rights and copied Kenner's figures but without the spring action features
goes to show how hard these figures are to findit took me ages to get them but i picked up batman and superman and the batmobile for $120 but still cant find robin.
Que lindos recuerdos por dios, veo el comerial y me acuerdo cuando era chico, que buenismos que estan, ademas tengo algunos de esos muñecos actualmente hasta la nave de superman, un saludo a todos desde uruguay
Oh, my God...I think I had that Superman figure when I was little! That's crazy, man...makes me wonder when the hell we're supposed to be getting that time machine.
The bumper is definitely from CBS-TV and the toyline debut in 1984, so I'd assume it was from either DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, POLE POSITION or SATURDAY SUPERCADE (w/-DRAGON'S LAIR) since it is a boy's themed merchandising campaign, and these 3 programs were recorded and saved by many fans. I hope that narrowed it down a bit!
I had a bunch of these figures when I was a kid in the 80's and I played with them until they either broke or I lost them. I even had a Clark Kent figure that you had to order from a Sears catalog. The bad part about all this is that I recently found out that had I kept them in the package they would worth a lot of money now. Especially that Clark Kent figure I think it's worth thousands. But as a kid you don't think of shit like that you buy toys to play with not save. Good memories though.
I had these too.. still got Brainiac, only one left, but used to have the a lot of 'em.. oh, I would pay ridiculously big amounts of money to have them back.. but they don't make 'em anymore, of course.
Now, why DC wouldn't bring either the classic SPC or an updated version to market.. that's unexplainable.. it seems unlikely that they would remain on the shelves for long; there's a specialized toy-collectors' market.. and well, kids gotta luv 'em too..
I still have the Superman. (Probably the second or third my mom bought me I wore out the previous!) It was the most cherished toy of my early childhood.
I'm pretty sure the dark haried kid is David Mendenhall, who played the voice of "Daniel", Spike's son, in Transformers the Movie 1986, the REAL movie.
Please tell me you mean the 1978 film, yes? The only Superman film that came out around 1986 was Superman IV: The Quest for Peace in 1987, and it was ATROCIOUS.
They used the motto from the "Legion of Doom" Superfriends series: "Coming from the furthest reaches of the Universe...". What's funny is that, from this roster of characters, only three of them come from outside Earth (Superman, Hawkman and Brainiac) -- three and a half, if you consider earthling Green Lantern got his power ring from a planet named "Oa".
PLEASE any dudes out there remember these small Animal Humanoid toys they had a heat sensitive patch on there chest, if you rubbed it with your finger it would display the element attribute for each...(eg. the turtle guy had a water symbol obviously)
All I know is that any toy that couldn't go into the bath tub with me I considered worthless. I mean really, I'd take a bunch of "made in China" rubber dinosaurs and lizards over a remote control car any day.

They were a spin off of Transformers called Battle Beasts. You can find info about them on Wiki easily. I had a Tiger and an Eagle.
xxPHOENIX80xx 2 years ago
Battle beasts. ^^ They were originally part of the Transformers line in Japan. Those episodes never aired in the U.S.
Anyway, those were really sweet toys around 1987.
