  • It was so fun! i was shreeding so cool and then.. the jam stops hehehhe

    loop number 5 start!

  • I think I've done this about 70 times lol, GREAT idea. You're the man Dave!

  • You know what'd be a great idea with ROTW? Buy something from your store and get one free week. :P

  • Dave.. you are amazing!

  • *Download app trailers from app store, and make an account, and type in corykurky as bonus code to get a free iTunes giftcard!! :) Merry Christmas!!:)*

  • Awesome shirt, Dave. I am currently in Perth and really liked watching your video (too bad, I haven't got my guitar with me).

  • best rotw evah!!!!!!

  • Great idea Dave !!

  • Is this your vop-9 sound?

  • i cant go for that

  • Cool T-Shirt Dave!! Hope you liked Australia! Love your work!

  • love this great idea!!!

  • Love that frosty green Smith. I'd like to see one w/rosewood or whatever is available now. Just something about green guitars that is hard to pull off , but yours is very cool. I just subscribed and look forward to you.

  • how did i sound Dave? i thought it was pretty smooth. i liked that little slide set up you had at the beginning of your lead playing.. did you like the chord work i had worked into that? :D

just joshin ya! i like the concept you have for this though, truthfully.

  • i salute you for this interesting concept Dave.......this is a great way to learn, simply put, outright brilliant

  • Man, you kicked my ass!

  • LOVE THESE. Have this slapped through appletv and stereo. Seriously jamming out here. Thanks for this. Could we get the backing track a little more prominent in the mix?

Nice one these will be epic!

  • that's was amazing, the problem is that i dont have my guitar with me :s !!!!

  • PRS Dave Weiner 7 String Signature in Verticle Sunrise Burst. This HAS TO HAPPEN.

  • This may end up being one of the best things for a lot of us even if we don't realize it yet. It was fun for me. First time I actually had a guitar in my hands for a video of yours. A lot of times I just use the videos as a lesson to apply later. Here I am getting a focused practice.

  • coolest part? trying to cop the licks you were playing during the trade off.

  • This was awesome./

  • Wow! This is GREAT stuff. Very fun!

  • that was sick

  • Really enjoyed it, Dave! Congrats

  • The best thing about jamming with you is that you can't hear how insanely terrible I sound!

  • Dave this was awesome, check out my video response. It was my first take so I didnt know how my mix was gonna turn out.

  • Damn, guy. You got the funk.

  • That was helpful, I can see my weaknesses.

  • This is good! Really good!

  • Very fun to jam with you, I even wanted to record it and upload the video but the quality was very bad. Maybe when I get proper equipment.

  • This is really cool Dave ;-)

  • That was great and wearing a Perth T-shirt with Kangaroo's on it i take it ur getting in the vibe of coming downunder :) :)

  • Dave - I was thinking that it could be important to mention that jamming and trading licks isn't about who's better or worse at playing guitar, and getting wrong notes is just as important as playing what you know well because there is growth and learning in the wrong notes.

I was looking at it with a 13yr student that I mentor and he made the comment that he wasn't as good as you. I told him that _I_ wasn't as good as you either ... but I still played to it.

  • That's a very very good idea you got there. The ultimate tool for guitarists ! Thanks for this vid and thanks for your work.

  • This rocks! Thanks Dave!

  • I really like this new jamming concept.

Good way to make concrete applications of everything we learn.

    Thanks Dave!

  • Awesome lesson Dave, that was a lot of fun! I think i broke into a sweat on that one!

  • This is great Dave, love the direction Riff of the Week is headed and I also love this new Jam With Me idea you got going on here. I'm sure you already know, but your phrasing is also ridiculously delicious man.

  • thats sweet dave!! awesome stuff!!

  • Awesome and very very fun! Thanks Dave!

  • Dave, thats an amazing great Idea! I enjoyed it a lot. I was really nervous when you looked at me, while i was playing :D

  • 5:50 is the start of the jam for any repeat viewers such as myself. Incredible video, Dave!

  • Haha I love this! It's kind of like jamming with someone on stage and ALOT more fun/interactive than playing to a straight backing track. Looking forward to more!

  • really cool stuff!

  • It would be pretty cool if you had a part where the viewer could harmonize with your leads. Harmonizing leads is something, that I think anyway, that turns a pretty cool jam into something that's awesome.Very cool idea Dave, looking forward to more of these videos! Nice improv/backing track too!

  • Now this is pretty cool. Perhaps people could give suggestions of things they'd like to solo over or to see how you work a solo or rhythm part for them?

  • I hope you do a DEMO on the FENDER G-DEC.

  • Awesome video!

  • AWESOME LESSON!!! I wish more jam tracks were like this. It's very cool seeing the ideas of what you can do and building off that. Real playing examples makes all the difference.

  • this was amazing!!! :) :) :)

  • Dave, this is probably one of the best concepts I've ever seen for a video series. It's pretty hard for me to find really great cats to jam with where I live, so this is a welcome addition to my Wednesdays. And Thursdays, and Fridays, and... You get the idea. Bravo, good sir!

  • good job dave cant hear my killer licks, i'm putting him to shame!!!!!

  • Wow that was great but it must have been a bit awkward jamming with and saying 'your turn' to a camera

  • @IkBobNiet - haha this ain't my first rodeo.

  • Excellent

  • You are becoming sounds like Santana when jaming :)

  • Dude, this is seriously awesome! I can't tell you how reassuring it is to learn that even players as awesome as you can make mistakes while improv soloing. I thought really good players like yourself just ripped off flawless solos with ease and that I sucked because I can't do that - so it is truly inspirational to realize that the mistakes I make when I am trying to improv solo are totally natural. Forget Riff of the Week - you should be charging for these awesome videos.

  • Wow seriously! So simple concept still so great! Thx Dave!

  • Man that backing track has swagger

  • That was awesome - what a blast!

  • "Jam with me" is a FANTASTIC concept, Dave! :)

  • epicccccccccccccc love this series :) \m/!!

  • This is great! Not only is this a good soloing exercise, but also a rhythm exercise.

BTW, your guitar kinda looks like a watermelon, which I like!

  • aaaawesome!

  • Nice vid Dave, couple of questions (which i`m going to put on the forum too), What Tempo? and how many bars do we get? and does anyone know of a way to extract the audio from the vid? so I can just put it straight into protools (laptop speakers are going to be drowned out by my amp)

  • @scubadaz1973 I'd recommend using Jdownloader for getting the audio in MP3-format.

  • That was great, Dave. Looking forward to more jam videos.

  • Very cool idea Dave! stimulating :)

  • Man that was inspiring! What an awesome concept!! You rock!

  • Very nice!

  • Yeah!

  • Hey dave has anyone ever told you how much you look like John Travolta? I think you should embrace it and do a disco themed video.....in a white tux!!!

  • Dave, is there a mailing list we can subscribe to to know when your new services come online? Who knows what will become a priority in life early next year, I think am likely to forget.

  • @stratometer - just head to daveweiner . com. You'll see at the bottom of the front page a mail list sign up.

  • This was a GREAT idea! It's super fun to try and match the techniques you used and it helped me pinpoint what I need to improve on. Like when I tried to compliment your double stops I found my choice of intervals to be in bad taste. I'll be practicing with this whenever I get a chance until next week's! =D

  • great job bro! simple and efficient !

  • That was extremely cool and fun!

  • I like this feature. My friend is using my guitar to lay down tracks so I grabbed the bass and jammed the rhythm section. Found it quite fun and forces me to practice new techniques and keys.

  • awesome!

  • Awesome!
